29:35 yes Susie thank you for telling Jeff to let him talk
“Is he out of his fucking mind!!” This line from Larry in this episode is where I officially became a fan of the show.
Mine was when Larry is brushing his teeth and says “I will move. Do you understand me? I will move before I make that phone call. Move!”
The way he says it 😂. I’ve been hooked ever since.
🤣🤣👍🏻
Jeff’s improving. It took until 1:44 for the first “by the way”
lol. I'm glad other people are noticing that! He says it 1000x/episode!!
@@RandySpeerIt's pretty impossible to not notice. Even with guests he still does it. Wayne did a pretty good job of trying to soldier through it. Jeff needs some adderal asap.
Did he mention his "wife of yore" this episode?
@@mattlampe good question. Didn’t finish the episode yet!
ok i've been waiting to make this comment until i found a good example of what i was trying to say -
6:55 Susie: I met Wayne Fetterman in 1984 at the Comic Strip
Jeff: OK I met Wayne Fetterman in 1882 at the Comic Strip in FLORIDA
I truly believe Susie was made for podcasting and the way she Yes And's Jeff is expert level. Jeff does not notice or take queues or use a segway into exploring the experiences or stories Susie has, and then Jeff bumbles his way into One Upping Susie instead of using it to build the "Lore" or the Backstory... THIS IS A PODCAST GIVING THE BACKSTORY OF CURB... Jeff should be opening up these convos to leave time and space for the chit chat of reminiscing.
I wanted to comment this back after episode 1 but I didn't know how to articulate the short comings of Jeff and how it impacts the podcast. It's kind of like Jeff has failed upwards into a large part of this entire thing and he seems to weild that "extra experience" over Susie and that (almost defensiveness from Jeff) "takes up a lot of space" in the conversation instead of actually divulging information.
I think that if Susie was the main host of this show and she was able to focus more on where she brings the conversation it would feel like having a cup of tea with your friend (and maybe spilling tea!! lol). The jist of what Jeff has "given us" so far across all of these episodes of the pod is "I never prepared, I never thought about things in advance, I just showed up" and the fact he's not only doing the same thing on these episodes, he's shutting down Susie's ability to dig into those things by shouting lol
I wonder if they've already filmed all these podcast episodes now and how the rest will play out. I'd love to see a Season 2 where the conversations are expanded
haven't listened to this one yet, but I keep listening wishing it were anything but a shot by shot recap of each episode
I think most viewers feel the same way. It drives me nuts. She's a pro and what I'd posted above was, "she has to keep the train on the track." Jeff should talk himself out before or after the episodes with guests and when it's just the two of them. During this episode in I kept feeling anxious he was going to interrupt. About two times he let Suzie lead and it was a peaceful and flowing conversation.
YES! And … (see what I did there) … Jeff really ought to be more self aware of the fact that he is by FAR the least interesting actor and character on the show. It would be one thing if he were, say, like the GOB/Will Arnett of the show or something along those lines, but his swagger and attitude are completely disproportionate to his contribution, despite his faux humbleness. (And to be clear, the real Will Arnett has zero attitude whatsoever.) He’s arguably never had one memorable improvised line in 12 seasons and is mostly infamous for just repeating what Larry says. It’s pretty clear from his attitude why he must have gotten kicked off The Goldbergs.
@@sweepingdenver gotta disagree completely, Jeff is a legend on the show
@@SifioliMeh. While he deserves full credit for co-creating the show and helping steer it all these years, in front of the camera he's at best neutral and knows how to move the plot forward. Often he's far worse than that. He's had an occasional shining moment here and there, but not many. I guess we have to agree to disagree. I'm with Family Guy on this one: ruclips.net/video/II9dPr4BxFI/видео.html
Give Jeff a nice chamomile tea before recording this stuff.
or a qualude
With a big bowl of tranquilizers.
Met Jeff in a guitar shop in Chicago once. He was louder and more electric than anyone playing guitar in the entire store.
@@JordanTombNo one cares lil baby bro 🤡
"By the way" will be on his headstone.
Jeff, Curb Your Enthusiasm!! ❤😂
RIP Richard Lewis
"Jeff, let him talk"
Patrick Kerr played the blind man. Great in not only curb, but seinfeld and frasier.
33:59 when susie says hysterical it sound the same way she said it about sammy crying when they took the doll
DEE-CAPETATEEEED!!! 😂
She is so patient with him.
No 🤡
Wayne's a great guest. I really hope they banked a few episodes and managed to get the late Richard Lewis as a guest, at least for one episode
I think the early episodes at least were filmed a year ago or even more, as they've talked about still filming the show.
Byebye Richard Lewis
I tried to help a blind guy from falling of the platform of a subway. He yelled at me. Get off my fuckin arm!😊😅😂
Whew! Jeff, please, let people speak once in awhile.
I'll take a dollar for every time Jeff says, "By the way..." Then, I'll be set for life. 😊
Im enjoying watching each episode and then coming here for the podcast.
That part LD says “i can’t there’s something wrong me stomach” hilarious 😂😂😂
Been a Curb fan since the beginning, THANKS so much for for making these podcasts. 🙏I’m gonna miss LD and ALL of you!
You're gonna cry hard when LD dies...
Finally Suzy tells Jeff to shut up!!!!!
I 100% became Susie biggest fan this episode, her Grandmothers broach when she cussed Larry and Jeff out I lose it every time
Just want to share a different perspective for those annoyed with Jeff:
I'm not sure if you have ADHD, but from my own experience and what I've heard from others, interrupting is a commonly developed bad habit for those with ADHD for a few reasons:
1. Limited impulse control. ADHD is a disorder of the brain, and can cause severe executive functioning limitations. The ability for one to stop and consider before acting, or even to notice that they are behaving in a particular manner, can be heavily impaired. It's possible Jeff doesn't even know he interrupts, and even if he does, he may not realize until after he does it, which makes the behavior very difficult to change.
2. Some people with ADHD will often forget what they were going to say if they don't get it out right now, so there can be a lot of pressure to get the thought out immediately.
3. Distractability and limited control of attention may lead to one having difficulty knowing when to speak or picking up on social cues that guide conversational rules and rhythms.
Now, of course, this behavior can understandably be irritating, and if it irritates others, this should be clearly and kindly communiated with the individual, and hopefully they're receptive and try to adjust. Unfortunately in many cases, people with ADHD are instead immediately judged and ostracized for their behavior, possibly told they're selfish and self-important, instead of others working to understand the situation and work with them to be inclusive.
Now if Jeff has been made aware of the issue and has made no effort to meet others halfway, then yeah, maybe some level of disregard for others or self-importance is involved. But even if he has been informed, he may not be able to fully control it, in spite of his best efforts.
My point is, it's important to withhold judgment and give others the benefit of the doubt, and to not draw potentially inaccurate conclusions. His behavior may have innocent, addressable, or not even fully controllable causes, and may not reflect a character flaw.
Of course, I'm only speaking from personal experience. In my experience, people are much too quick to judge instead of attempting to understand. A lifetime of this treatment can be very challenging.
Judgment stunts growth, empathy nurtures it.
I absolutely love these episodes!!! Keep em' coming!
I like Jeff's brief Larry impressions. I chuckle every time.
I'm completely in love with Susie. I mean, I have been forever but this podcast cements my love for her. She's so smart, and funny, and generous, and patient, and sexy, and graceful, and knowledgeable, and witty, and earnest. She's the whole package! And makes listening to the podcast an awesome experience!
(excuse my English as it's my second language)
Even knowing his real name, I’ve had issues not calling this guy Dean Winsetovk in my head. I feel like it fits him almost too well
Favorite episode here I love this one
I am really enjoying this podcast. Thank you for making it available. Hopefully you’ll keep doing them for each episode.
I think they have improved SO MUCH!!! Love this!
thanks so much for doing these!
Jeff needs to let her talk.
He’s so different in real life 😂
yea Jeff's turning into quite the prick
It's so hard to watch because Jeff never lets anyone finish a thought
@@steele41 ADHD.
@@steele41agreed, this could have been a great show podcast if Jeff would just shut the hell up. Also his constant mentioning of how important he was behind the scenes and bragging on himself. 😮
Thanks for doing this podcast you guys, I really hope you see it through to the end. I know it's a mammoth task but it's documenting history, this is something people will look back on for decades maybe even centuries to see behind the scenes of Curb. Imagine if they had been able to do this for Seinfeld back in the day!
Susie and Jeff ❤❤❤❤
Hey Jeff and Susie! Just listening to you two consummate professionals - you endearing duo - wax poetic about your craft - gives my spirit “a tightening and a lift!!” ❤️🔥😂❤️🔥
😂😂😂 I hope they have Tracy Ullman on an episode of this podcast!
Haha, I love the Cat Stevens reference Federman sneaks in at 26:22.
Susie and Jeff didn't seem to get it :)
Good episode, odd that there's no mention of Lewis, i know this episodes are prerecorded, but not even a dedication seems weird.
thanks for sharing!
loved the 6th episode of the podcast i'll look forward to more stories and guest interviews love from culver city california socal la area ❤️
I unironically love all the reminiscing about comedy history with a long string of names of people I've never heard of
I love the "fun facts"
Jeff is bombastic, but it doesnt seem to bother Susie.
Where's my, "By the way..." merch? 🙂
10/10 would buy.
On the way by the way
Justice for Susie #bytheway
“Ding ding” is the new “LOL, Lar.. LOL”
I just bought the book. His Pistol Pete book was wonderful.
Jeff says "It's not an interview, it's a conversation." But its Jeff talking 80% of the time haha. He wants the convo to be just himself speaking
No mention of Lewis??? This must have been recorded before he passed.
Susie said somewhere they’d done a lot before the first one even aired (might’ve been on Andy Cohen’s radio show but I’m not 100% sure) but I too was hoping for a little something for Lewis this week.
This was all filmed during production of season 12. It will probably take a few months to catch up. I’m
Hoping they filmed an episode with Lewis already. But probably not.
They did. Susie said they have one with Richard prerecorded. Too bad there’s not more than one.
Yeah, probably recorded before he passed, otherwise, I'm sure they would have mentioned something.
Probably recorded before he passed? Well bit hard to record it after he passed...
Jeff really needs to dial his ego down. It’s bearable because he knows he can’t stop talking and sometimes takes the piss out of himself but really it’s like being at a dinner party with someone coked off their head and trying to get a word in edge ways. The irony being the funniest impression I heard of coked up people at a dinner party was by uk comedian jimmy carr and was “ we should do a podcast” lol
Crazy this doesn’t have so many more views
The stomach line from Larry is the funniest part of the scene easily. He's a bizarre mix of apologetic yet fuming at the same time but hes directing it at the wrong person cos shes just trying to be freindly.
Omfg I loved that "I can't do it my stomach is acting funny" while getting in her face and squinting his eyes shaking his head I love this episode it's one of my favorite episodes of any seasons
Real Susie would never tolerate this behavior from Jeff
They've know each other for 20 + years. She's of course very used to how Jeff talks and interrupts.
I've met Larry Charles family through a mutual friend, they were great.
“You’re going to come back to “talk” about the other episode you’re in” aka you’re going to listen to Jeff
Can we rename the pod to by the way.
I can't believe there aren't any comments about this, but Jeff is just constantly interrupting in these episodes. "By the way" is genuinely endearing because it shows how comfortable and excited he is to be doing this, but the interrupting is just as boorish as it is unrelenting.
There's nothing better than an unedited conversation between writers about their art, but there's nothing worse than an interrupter.
It's so painful to watch at first, then it becomes funny, then back to intolerable, then repeat.
I honestly wish this was the top comment because you perfectly respect Jeff in that I don't think he means any harm in it I think he is just a very big personality and he needs to reign it in just a bit. The candid excitement is really endearing though, because we all want to hear about their stories and past just not with so much interrupting.
Larry Charles directed Bob Dylan's movie Masked And Anonymous. Super funny.
He kept cutting Wayne off to a point where Wayne seemed clearly annoyed and Susie had to intervene. Love the show and the podcast is really interesting, but Jeff needs to let everyone else speak, he comes across as having a big ego between the cut-offs and self-inflating commentary.
Lapidary is the word - like a rock polished to a fine luster.
Wow - Jeff made it all the way to 3:52 before his first "By the way..." interruption.
Ok, here they come. Another one at 4:25. Hasn't anyone pointed out this REALLY annoying tic to him yet?
Oh Marone! Now Susie's doing it, too! 5:00 - it's contagious!
Another one for Jeff at 5:38 - no way is he going to let Susie steal his signature line.
7:04 - ok, time to start the drinking game.
7:28 - drink.
Even though these were recorded earlier im surprised they didnt do amything to talk about Richard Lewis. They could have recorded 10 minutes, even over Zoom, to just acklowedge and say a few words.
13:10 It's more like a pamphlet
17:50 did make me die inside a little bit, this if anything should be the example of what Jeff needs to chill with. He was on top of this man just trying to make a joke that Federman wasn't even responding to.
I loved the conversation at 48 min about how Larry is not an outdoorsy kind of guy. Except for golf. And Jeff adds, "and he hunts." And Susie repeated it, both of them said it with straight faces. PLEASE tell me they were joking.
He does hunt but only endangered species.
By the way, I too am loving Tracey Uhllman on the later seasons!
So funny to hear jeff comparing Julia Dreyfus to Tracy ullman. The latter a comedian we in the uk found deeply unfunny who managed to somehow make it in the US being mainly deeply unfunny. I have to say the the line in this season “Larry where is my sleeping brassiere” and larrys reaction is absolutely gold though
Have they talked about Richard Lewis passing yet on the show?
These were recorded well before his passing.
Wasnt Porno Gils last name Theelander?
let her talk jeff
Ding ding.
3:52 LD and Larry Charles had a falling out over the LD documentary???
take a shot every time jeff says "by the way". i'm 4:30 mintues in, took three shots
Can someone count how many times Jeff says “by the way”?
I really wish that Larry Charles would come back on the show, because he was one of the better directors/writers. Any dark episode of Seinfeld it's definitely going to be him who wrote it. Unfortunately, Larry Charles hasn't talked to Larry David because Larry David pulled a documentary about himself that Larry Charles made the night before it was supposed to air. Larry Charles did all of this work and Larry David wasn't happy with it or something. So, they haven't talked since. Breaks my heart because these new seasons could definitely have benefited from Larry Charles..
Jeff needs some podcast training. He is frequently interrupting, one upping, and wanting to relate things to himself. If he could dial it back, this would be much better.
To me, By the way isn't the most Infuriating thing that Jeff does, it's when he's trying to Interrupt but Susie or the Guest keeps talking so they can finish their Thought and he starts Shouting Hold On! Or Wait Wait Wait till they stop so he can Blurt out what he deems to be his more important thoughts. That pisses me off when he does that! It's just so inconsiderate and obnoxious!
Also when he calls people out over minor speech gaffes to make them feel Stupid about it! Like when Wayne said Honest Truth which is a pretty common expression, but Jeff had to Interrupt to make Fun of that, and then Susie had to step in to stop him from pissing off their Guest. I'm sure no malice is meant and he probably thinks calling people out is funny or something but it just makes him look like an Asshole!
If he's always like this, I can understand why the cast of The Goldbergs didn't have very nice things to say after he got fired! Hopefully he can continue to improve as the podcast goes on because these Habits are very Annoying!

"and by the way"
I'm being followed by a boom shadow boom shadow boom shadow
Jeff interrupts more than Donald Trump in a debate with Biden and the kicker is that Jeff vehemently hates Trump in the episode where Larry wears the Maga hat
Omg, I’m watching and totally enjoying the recaps and Susie, but does Jeff ever realize how much he interrupts? He’s out of control, and he has to stop with the “by the way”.
if you have a structured settlement and you need cash NOW!
Jeff love ya, you interrupt a little much
Susie is brilliant and lovable but without Jeff we will miss a ton of Curb background. He’s messy but gets a little more in control of the ADD in later episodes. And their friendship is undeniable.
The true value in this is more in the “behind the scenes context and stories, not so much about the re-view of what happened(we can actually watch)
So, yea Jeff interrupts a lot. But I think it’s because Susie sometimes just gets to far into describing the scenes.
They gon have to learn to strike a balance. Cause I DEF have seen the show so I want to know ALL the inside info.
In irritated Larry voice, to Jeff: “Shut the fuck up!”
Sussie was angry Hot to me. 44:43
So, Jeff just doesnt shut the fk up, huh? Weird, he's one of my top 3 fav ppl in Curb.
SHUT UP, JEFF 🤣
I don’t want to be mean, but I prefer Jeff Greene to Jeff Garlin.
Jeff stop interrupting !!!
Larry Charles directed the first borat movie he didn't create the character
i think the only two movies i laughed at more were naked gun and dirty work
By the way
Julia's not just beautiful, shes not just talented. She is Sublime.
Jeff is in the way. Stop talking!
I'm with those that say Jeff is getting better and co-hosting. I'd still chip in for a gavel for Susie to make sure Jeff stays in line if she thinks it would help.
By the way, I love “The Wire”
when you walk through the garden
The Greenes live in what looks like a mansion, yet the Davids live in a nice house?????
BY THE WAY
Jeff shut up!!! I was cringing listening to this. Wayne was so kind and tried to get Suzie to talk a few times.
Jeff, please shut-up and let other people talk!!! Start a solo project that is JUST YOU TALKING.
