IMHO best way to enjoy these podcasts is watch the episode just beforehand. It reveals so many more layers.
I started doing this by the 5th podcast episode, but I use both RUclips & HBO Max apps at the same time and watch bits of each and swap back and forth and follow along 💗 Delicious.
That’s what I been doing
Damn! Goooooood call
yep that's the only way to do it! I been doing it since the 2nd podcast episode. Looking forward to watching this whole show week by week
take a shot everytime jeff says "by the way"
This joke is getting old, try to be original
Susie is such a great person
She’s very patient!
And my eyes don't hurt looking at her irl outfit!
@@carolinehowell5362No.
RIP Haggerty, RIP Lewis. You’re doing great Jeff! Susie, you’re excellent at this! Very goshdarn enjoyable!!
“…but the gunplay”
Mike Hagerty was great in the Seinfeld Episodes The Raincoats. I love seeing all the vsrious actors from Seinfeld that were in Curb also.
I love and adore you both! Thanks for letting us relive the series with you but with new insight. It just brings me joy.
I love how genuinely offended Jeff seemed about Larry not congratulating him on his new car. To me, that was perfect character development. What matters to this character who has almost no scruples? What is sacred to him? Recognition for owning a status symbol! And what kind of status symbol is it? It signifies wealth, indulgence, and virility. That's about as deep as he goes.
I guess they're implying Jeff as a construct is sposed to be usually very laid back and unaffected by what Larry does or doesn't do (except in extreme cases where Larry gets Jeff into trouble in much later episodes) so having Jeff become personally offended by some social etiquette didn't fit because as they said usually it's the other characters Larry has to deal with who take offence at him, Jeff is sposed to be his best buddy who doesn't care about stuff like that so it was odd having him getting privately emotionally upset with Larry like Cheryl would.
@@user-et6pj4db9sEven several episodes in, Jeff and Susie have spoken a fair amount about the benefit of simply going with your instincts with regard to character development. I'm thankful that the Jeff Garlin from twenty-four years ago intuited that this is not an interaction hinging on a social convention but rather, personal values.
@@WaitingtoHit the whole Jewish world is about people being very uptight about one thing or another though, it's just a cliche that Jewish characters are usually getting upset or frustrated, even neurotic about social stuff and it's what made Seinfeld a success in the first place so Curb just carries that on where these guys expect people to say or do one thing or another to satisfy one another and if anyone fails to do what's expected then it's the end of the world.
They mention Friends at the dinner and I'm just realizing now Mike Haggarty was on Friends as the maintenance guy
"My rash cleared up" is from Mike the Aamco guy 😂. He says something like "I got some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is My rash cleared up" which is said tongue in cheek - must be something many car mechanics say 😂
I really love this podcast! It’s a joy to learn the stories and nuiances behind the beautiful comedic masterpiece of Curb Your Enthusiasm
These two are delightful. I'm so glad they're doing this...& I've always loved Sour Grapes actually. It's hilarious, unique, & underrated...
Love this podcast, and Jeff and Susie. Hope they do all 12 seasons!
I recall Susie saying they would cover all episodes/seasons
Jeff did good this episode. Very enjoyable listen. Keep it up Susie and Jeff your friendship is adorable. You can tell Jeff really respect her. We forgive & accept the adhd part of you Jeffy ❤
By the way, Jeff said Hanukkah is coming up so this was filmed around December. Like 3 months ago… just fyi 🌌
This would have been in late 2022 since Jeff says Mike Hagerty's death was about six months prior. They were talking about working on season 12 for quite a while before its release.
@@WaitingtoHit damn
Holy crap, they’ve been sitting on these for a year+?
Enjoying now!
These podcasts are great, can't wait to watch the whole series again
Kinda funny (and meta) that Mike Hagerty's character asks Larry about Seinfeld residuals, given the fact that he appeared in an episode. Don't listen to the haters, Jeff. We love you!
OMG. You reminded me of how I would always hear from my parents friends how proud they were of me, but never directly from them. Like Suzie’s friends.
The "boring guy" (the Downey/Govina guy) is so fucking funny.
Kevin Ruf. That's the Kevin with the shards of script in his trunk. That guy was so great at that character.
So was he moving to downy or Covina?😂
oh man lol he doesn't even let her get through introducing the title of the episode
Jeff: "So today is..."
Susie: "Aamco. Double A M-"
Jeff: "Episode seven."
You two are such dolls! And talented AF! I could listen to you all day, and about (almost 😉) any topic. Keep shining!!! 🕊♥🕯
i hope they dont feel critical about messing up the notes about the rash, it was such a genuine moment, i loved to see it
From Chicago and had no idea so many comedians are from there. Jeff rocking with the bears 🐻⬇️
Keenan Allen! Bear Down 🐻
Jeff you brought back memories when you said you had a 1966 GTO, when I was 16 and just got my drivers license I was given my brother's 1965 GTO while he was in Vietnam....was really too much car power for a 16 year old new driver but I managed not to have any wrecks and just 2 speeding tickets, I glad I had that car in that American Graffiti era of dragging Main Street, listening to AM radio music of the day and going to car hops.
Thank you for this... something about listening to this is so comforting. Like talking with old friends about a show we're obsessed with that they're also just as obsessed with. Love seeing the dynamic between real Jeff and Susie. Thank you for the minutiae - we live for this!
One of the best episodes of the season. Lol at Jeff’s reaction when they get hit😂
What Jeff said about West LA is 100% true. 😂
The guy who speaks to Larry outside the jewellery store (the bracelet )talks to him about the sandwich that happened in Aamco I always noticed it's out of sequence
I heard an AAMCO commercial a few weeks ago in Oklahoma City
You guys are great! Jeff please stay healthy
Love this podcast!
I'm so glad that they called out Larry David's non aging. 😂
I so enjoy your discussions and thank you.
LOVE the podcast
They both look great.
One of my fav eps
thank you!
good episode
By the time they get to Season 2 the “by the way” counter will reset itself at 1,000,000
Oh J E F F ~. YOU are AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME ! ! Your "quirks'. make YOU GREAT, Funny, authentic, warm and sincere. a comic, performer genius.
Popeye, gunplay.. Echolalia is a common form of stimming for neurodivergents, not that weird; I can relate to this.
❤ this podcast.
Brilliant
loved the 7th episode of the podcast i'll look forward to more stories and guest interviews love from culver city california socal la area ❤️ R.I.P mike hagerty 🙏
I think his name was Kevin…still is I’m sure. lol killed me.
The "rash cleared up" is a joke mike duffy makes as they talk to him in his workshop about fixing the car
I don't agree. Jeff is supposed to talk. It's a podcast. He tends to dominate a little but that's the natural dynamic i guess. It's fine.
❤️these two
Thanks guys for the lesson about green screen!
The thing that kills me about AAMCO was how unappealing that chicken l'orange looked. It looked like a boiled breast that someone put marmalade on. Also the turnovers that look like you could get at any market bakery. Just hilarious to see this as catered food and Jeff's ulterior motive to get this quality of food.
Thank you, Carmel!
To Mike Haggerty! He'd have made a good John Candy in a bio flick.
Omg John Candy one of my favs I agree!!
Btw who ever watched Seinfeld, will realize that the aamco guy was a extra in a scene, & in a later episode there is a doctor who was also in Seinfeld.
Susie should have a podcast where she finishes saying all the things she was gonna say before Jeff cut her off.
oh just STFU already natural conversations there is going to be interruptions esp. in a situation like this where Jeff has been the producer/direct of Curb for decades. if you want to listen to some over produced nonsense turn on the local news
lol
We don’t have that kind of time!
Shoutout Broad City!
15:07 jew references are more than appreciated coming from you guys, even for a person with a muslim background like myself 👍 love jeff!
I just got over Covid too
Mike Haggerty was definitely value for money, he was like John Candy with a moustache, infact I'll be controversial and say he was even funnier than Candy, Candy never made me laugh out loud but Mike did in this particular episode the way he took the head of the table, he played the second hand shop owner that George sells his father's clothes to in Seinfeld too but this one was funnier.
They almost need a ball. You can only talk if you have the ball 😂
They talk over each other and are both strong personalities
This is probably gonna be better than, Talkin Sopranos……….
My treeger the super in Friends talking about Friends was amazing to me i an a huge Friends fan
QUICK CORRECTION: In Los Angeles, the Westside means it’s west of Downtown - NOT the 405 (Beverly Hills and Culver City are part of the westside but are east of the 405) just like anything east of Downtown is the Eastside
-from a Los Angeles native
They explained what a green screen is and I thought "gee, what kind of moron wouldn't know what a green screen is"... but then I read the comments and thought fair enough.
I always get so pissed on when on TV or the radio someone doesn't turn off their phone and a ring or alert happens and then I think it's my phone and have to pull it out - like while I'm driving like this on the radio! It could really cause an accident. I would be annoyed if someone honked at me, but I would not yell at them for multiple of reasons. So annoying. Same thing with podcasts, these folks do not bother to silence their phones sometimes and if I have my phone in my pocket and I am sitting down it's a pain in the neck to pull my phone out of my pocket, and there is a risk or dropping it too.
Anyone think the same?
Go Bears!
hagerty reminds us of john candy ...
Duffey said my rash cleared up
Jeff seems to take credit for everything
Jeff was Larry's right hand man since Day 1, so he does know everything about the show, and was involved in all of it.
@@calpurniabruchi5742 I’m sure all the ideas were his and he cast everyone and he’s the real genius behind it all
@@TheBhup no he isn't, but he was there from the start, when Larry had the idea for this and included Jeff in everything, so he knows a lot more than say Ted Danson or Lewis about the founding of the show
I'm alone here. I don't hear what the majority of you hear. Susie interrupts way too much. But that's just me. I'm here to learn.
I actually enjoyed "Sour Grapes".
Explain for the folks at home what greenscreen is
Jeff was on Criminal Intent not SVU.
The Jeff being offended about Larry not making a fuss of his car always stuck out like a sore thumb to me - so out of character. I'm glad they picked that up.
Between not knowing actors names, what lines were said by whom, not knowing when actors in the show died, talking about irrelevant nonsense, I think I could give a better history of Curb.
Hagerty died in September 2022, were these filmed a year ago?
Probably
May 5,2022 RIP Mike
Let me start off by saying I love these podcast I haven’t missed one yet having said that you guys are talking way too much about yourselves and not enough about the show and behind the scenes stuff that everybody wants to hear about
Why does Curb use sitcom lighting now? It’s very disturbing to look at.
I love _Broad City._ I wish more actors did crossover between that city and _Curb._ Abbi was so good on _Curb_ and Susie was so good on _Broad City._
Mike Hagerty died 2 years ago, not two months ago.
I really enjoy watching these 2 discuss the early episodes but I just wonder---if this series continues , and it gets to the later episodes , how honest will they be able to be ? The latest seasons are unfunny and god-awful.
Never apologize for being a Jew, Jeff!
BJ in the car is about risk or exhibitionism or guys digging the power of driving their car while receiving. It’s not that complicated, yo. And it’s not everybody’s thing. That’s okay
Did Jeff fart at 35:03 ???
Anyone notice that Hanukkah was mentioned and the premiere of Babylon. I wonder when they recorded these because there’s been no mention of Richard Lewis either. Either way I LOVE this podcast ❤
Does Jeff even know he doesn’t have to say “by the way”? It’s like he’s needs to meet a quota
The "rash" line was from Mike Duffy. He said I have good news and bad news, bad news you're car is damaged, good news is my rash cleared up :)
what do wealthy trendy women make for dinner ?? ... reservations ...
Can yall just change the name of this podcast to "By the Way: Jeff Garlin Cant Stop Talkin'"?
and whitney cummings. i started how many times he interrupts susie and quit after 20@rossmccay
Jeff has apologized for the By The Way. Google it
ruclips.net/video/1zIF2byDoy8/видео.htmlsi=Zrzk7L5ACMlYFpzA
He already apologized for this. Google it, it's a tic. He has adhd
@@calpurniabruchi5742he comes off as a jerk.
if it’s so fun….why stop?
Larry is a human being with a finite number of good ideas that will work within the artistic construct of Curb's world. It's a matter of quality control, and as Larry himself pointed out, he's 76. The show is a lot of work for real-life Larry, and at a certain point, you're stretching plausibility with certain storylines when your lead character is that old.
@@WaitingtoHitthe thing is, the Curb type situations are NOT finite. It can be anything pertaining to life and people.
@@calpurniabruchi5742Notice that I said _good_ ideas. It could be absolutely anything if Larry had no sense of quality control and/or no concept of the show's identity. Fortunately for us, he does.
The openness with which u guys talk about sex, specially blow jobs, in a personal manner is uncomfortable 😅.
I live in the valley and id love to be invited to a catered 8 person dinner on the westside…or anywhere lol. I cant say ive ever even been invited to a dinner party that wasnt a (jewish) holiday.
Im concerned for jeff if he says he is only happy when he is doing curb, bc curb is ending.
Larry thinking the honk on the radio was real is so relatable. Ive heard ambulance or police sounds on the radio and thought it was real 😆.
It’s a great pod but jeff interrupts too much
Susie…get in character and tell Jeff to stfu 😂😂😂😂😂 geesh he’s annoying.
How come Jeff and Susie didn't pay tribute to their good friend Richard Lewis? He's been on the show since the beginning and he was a good friend of theirs. At least Larry paid tribute on the last episode.
These are prerecorded way in advance, this was probably recorded MONTHS ago
They mentioned at the beginning that they were still in the middle of production of season 12 at the time this was recorded, so it was months ago.
@@jimjimblerton8430 They could add a tribute at the beginning of the podcast. Like Larry did . Even months after.
@@charlesgrotticelli2946 They should hire you to be the editor to go back and edit their old videos. Send them your info.
@@charlesgrotticelli2946 somebody found out the recording date based on a few topical references. this was recorded in Dec 2022. even older than i suspected
My first first?
Congratulations
And my sixth sixth
I'll put my jealousy aside and offer sincere congrats. Your parents must be so proud.
Sorry, but I've begun to fast forward through all of the non-episode related comments of Jeff's. We're here for the Curb discussion, not Jeff's life style anecdotes.
We need more Goldbergs stories. Clearly those people had a stick up their ass, and had it out for Jeff.
"By the way" watch: first one at 1:05. Jeff's regressing.
idk who they think this show is aimed at haha. do they think only kids watch these? so they have to explain what West LA is, or a greenscreen? I'm pretty sure anybody who's seen 11 seasons of Crub knows what those things are, just my intuition.
Suzy should host this show alone
JB Smoove and Suzy.
Jeff just cant stop talking. Too much. Its exhausting.
Jeff too much interruption. Learn from steve shiripa and Michael imperolio
I’m trying to watch these pod casts but Jeff Garlin is making it impossible. So annoying and arrogant. Stop talking so much!
Agree. I’ve been persevering and then giving up then trying again. He’s spoiling it, which is a shame.
