      It always annoyed me how shows weren't more accurate to real life. I know if you made it accurate with people flubbing their words and the occasional stutter, it would throw the flow of a show off but there's so many other things (like people laughing at each other) that they never even attempt. Except Curb obviously.

    • @billdungsroman101

      Only because the cast are great at improv, a lot of the guest actors are bad though and drag the scenes down which has become more of an issue across the series.

    • @kilgoretrout321
      @kilgoretrout321 3 года назад +4

      I don't mind if it's unnatural as long as it's good. Because old-ass movies have super unnatural dialogue, yet they're very entertaining. Natural-sounding dialogue is just one way to do a show/movie, and it can suck too. A lot of shows try to be overly natural and the writing goes nowhere

    People actually laughing at each other in Curb was something I noticed as well. It just feels way more natural. With most shows I often wonder why those people are even friends if they don't laugh at each other's banter or when someone just cracks a great joke. I used to watch it when I was 13. I can remember their way of doing comedy is very specific that if you were get the so called reference you can laugh but that reference is so specific more than 90% of your demographic won't be able to understand. Show's representation of "nerd" culture is so bad. Nerds or geeks or radical humans can't find it funny but some out of touch people can find funny. Just like Jimmy Kimmell (or media in general) and e-sports. Only reason I continue watching is I after many hours wasting my time am kinda invested in characters (even though they're terribly written). Reason for that is I spent many hours watching them they became oddly familiar. Still I prefer other comedy shows It's Always Sunny etc.

      Without Phil Hartman I wouldn't watch it any longer.

      Definitely underrated. I stopped watching it after Phil Hartman died.

    Jeff is soooo spot-on and a great actor. Larry is a genius for sure. Great actors know that drama is key for comedy to work. Just being silly and goofy does not make "comedy".

    News Radio is the Taxi of the nineties. The show’s legacy has grown because of the show quality and the talent. Ratings at the time don’t always mean a whole lot if you know the show is truly funny.
