Red Dead should be about playing the story and the gunplay. If they wanted to add realism, to should have made more realistic gunplay. Since guns hit like air pistols exept for the snipers (which you will healthily spam) and you are a tank on legs, adding realism is useless in your already super unrealistic game. We are talking about a game were you have litteral magic health potions here.

Because it's a superfluous feature, like much of the game. The stats decrease is minimal and the game is mostly super easy. If the guns could at least jam, having to clean your guns would make more sense.
@@luizphilipe6970 I played with zero aim assist and no minimap from the very start and it's still easy as hell. Arhtur is a bullet sponge even with low weight, the enemies are dumb and have stormtrooper aim and the game barely punishes you for dying. It makes all the cool survival mechanics and many of the money making activities completely pointless. The game should have launched with a Hardcore mode like the one they did for the GOTY edition of the first game, it would give the option to solve pretty much all those issues.
Juan de CR i agree with you on the survival mode but i find figthing big groups to be a decent challenge maybe in part because the clunkyness of the gunplay. Scavenging is one of the best parts of the game to be honest because of the stelar world design

It does make it kind of funny that the Varmint rifle in NV is a 5.56 nato, (or .223 rifle caliber) while a typical varmint rifle is usually .22LR. a much MUCH weaker caliber. then again, a similar change was from the .38 caliber rounds the Hunting rifle in Fallout 3 used, to the .308 in NV. I know it's over thinking it, but it does give a bit of thoughts that there could have been some thought put into what Hunting regulations would have been in the fallout universe prior to the war. since NV is set in Navada, and hunting big game would have been much more commonplace compared to hunting anything besides targets at shooting ranges anywhere near Washington DC.

Trigger Discipline as rule is spread after the WW2. Of couse some people had their finger off the trigger like we can see at some pictures taken in the past, but it was not a discipline. Just a learned lesson or knowledge taught by your father
In my first walkthrough I never took care of my guns, horse or arthur for that matter, but then I came across these videos showing me the beautiful details of the game and that's when I realised I was doing this game all wrong along, I need to enjoy these tiny things, so I left my first playthrough right at the start of chapter 3 and started another one where I took care of everything, cleaned my guns, cleaned and fed my horse, dressed and trimmed arthur According to the situation of the game. Hell I even took care of my John , feeding him whenever I can, trimming his beard and hair simmilar to the one in first rdr and not gonna lie by the end of the entire game, I felt like I had enjoyed the game in its entirety not just 'played' it. So long story short, ENJOY THESE MINUTE DETAILS, THEY ARE WORTH IT.

You were stuck with pistols only, until you got back to your horse, knowing that the next cutscene or transition would just take it away in the next three minutes anyway. Maybe it's fixed, but I had to play the entire game with pistols only, which wasn't though, because you are a walking tank with health potions and superpowers, but it annoyed me, along with a billion other things in this game.

Maybe it's just me, but I love the way the guns look when they fire while using Dead Eye. It looks like Arthur/John was actually somehow overclocking the gun to near catastrophic failure with how fast they're firing it.

I will say it is pretty cool to hear the differences between filthy weapons and clean weapons like when a dirty weapon is fired it sounds kinda faint like your hearing it with someone or something covering your ears or like your hearing it from really far away or something but when it's clean you can hear the full sound of the shot though much more could be done with them like for instance you know the weapons jamming because of all the rust and dirt that's on and in the weapon or have them explode cause that's what far cry 2 did if you used a dirty weapon too much it not only jams and makes it longer to reload but it could blow up on you and be completely useless would be nice if they had it here but whatever

Hell I even took care of my John , feeding him whenever I can, trimming his beard and hair simmilar to the one in first rdr and not gonna lie by the end of the entire game, I felt like I had enjoyed the game in its entirety not just 'played' it. So long story short, ENJOY THESE MINUTE DETAILS, THEY ARE WORTH IT.

The varmint rife looks so good when you add all black (except the frame), a gold frame, black engravings, walnut leather, and a mahogany stock.
I personally go full blackened steel, black walnut varnish, no carvings/engravings, and add brick red leather wraps to rifles and shotguns. Gives it a sleek low profile look.

You were stuck with pistols only, until you got back to your horse, knowing that the next cutscene or transition would just take it away in the next three minutes anyway. Maybe it's fixed, but I had to play the entire game with pistols only, which wasn't though, because you are a walking tank with health potions and superpowers, but it annoyed me, along with a billion other things in this game.

I love they have smoke actually coming from the barrel after you fire the gun, such a small detail you wouldn't normally pay attention to.
Love the detail about the smoke being thicker and darker when the gun is dirty, in most of the cases.
The importance of keeping your guns in good condition and they will never fail you.

Maybe it's just me, but I love the way the guns look when they fire while using Dead Eye. It looks like Arthur/John was actually somehow overclocking the gun to near catastrophic failure with how fast they're firing it.

@@maxischew514 shoving a cloth down the barrel wouldn't do anything to a barrel corroded by 19th century powder. You'd need to clean that properly, with soap, water, and oil once it dries

I will say it is pretty cool to hear the differences between filthy weapons and clean weapons like when a dirty weapon is fired it sounds kinda faint like your hearing it with someone or something covering your ears or like your hearing it from really far away or something but when it's clean you can hear the full sound of the shot though much more could be done with them like for instance you know the weapons jamming because of all the rust and dirt that's on and in the weapon or have them explode cause that's what far cry 2 did if you used a dirty weapon too much it not only jams and makes it longer to reload but it could blow up on you and be completely useless would be nice if they had it here but whatever

I like how some of the guns retain some of the wear and tear. The Mauser has the most obvious, but it’s still a fun detail.
