I feel bad for Pearson. He's belittled and unappreciated by almost everyone in the gang, but at the end of the story he still looks back at his old photograph and smiles. He loves being here and he loves everyone.
One time I filled my satchel full of rats from the shady saloon in St. Dennis and gave them all to Pearson. Who specifically said they're going "straight in the pot." Was definitely not one of the high points of my high-honor playthrough.
I always take the time to greet and appreciate Pearson and his dedication. He’s always patient with the same gang that belittles him and is willing to provide food for them for many years
Pearson is fun to watch. I’ve seen him sneeze on the food he was cutting and then look around to see if anyone noticed. Once I watch him taste the stew, spit it out because it tasted terrible, shrug and keep on cooking. Also this is the first time I notice he takes the meat out of a salt barrel (I think), and brushes off the salt before cutting it. The details in this game are so good.
I know that the meat he cuts depends on the type of meat you donate, if you donate a bunch of lower quality meats he will spit out the stew, but if you donate higher quality meats he won't. This game has so much detail it's amazing
One detail that I've missed after 5 playthroughs is that gang called him out for not washing hands when he is cooking. But if you go to chapter 3 or 4 where gangs move the camp near to the river and swamp, or you do the chore where you have to carry a bucket of water to the pantry, you can see that Piers do actually wash his hands.
One of my favorite camp characters. Always working hard, never complaining and reliable. I wish the game gave us more details about his back story and allow for more social situations with the character.
I love how kind this man is actually, he pretends to be rather slow or rough but considering how much he likes to stand back and observe nature while enjoying a drink just shows me how much he enjoys his life. Even if he isn’t treated the best by those around him, he is happy
If it wasn't clear enough that he cares deeply about the gang, even when he starts a new life, the credit montage shows that he keeps a photo of them near his desk at his store.

That actually happenes to a lot of cooks. My step dad works at a pizza place that he's been at for the last 11 years, I had to help him out once as he was alone and he literally opened a furnace and got the pizza out with his bare hands I was mesmerised. When I asked him about it, he said that when you work in a kitchen for so long, your hands get used to touching really heated stuff without really getting hurt.
It's a shame that crayfishing is the only activity you get with Pearson, I would have liked one where Arthur gets to do fishing or something with Uncle and Pearson, I could see them two bickering one moment and having a laugh another moment
Fun fact: If arthur comes back to the camp after a long time. Then, Pearson is the only one who notices that and comments like, "Haven't seen you in quite some time" or "Good to see you back Mr Morgan."
I have a crush with abigail. I always make arthur flirt with him. Hoping they both end up together. That’s what i get when ther first rdr i play is rdr2.
If I was an outlaw then I too would probably have been delegated as a camp cook. Pearson was one of the few to get out of the gang life and manage to live a peaceful life. Never disrespect the one feeding you.
I wanted to join up as the reserves or national guard as a cook for soldiers. But then my cousin said you'd be just the bitch. And 18 y o me, being naive. I let that get to me. @@ownlydown5933hey veteran here. Your cousin gave you good advice. Cook is among one of the worst jobs in the military. And the army in particular hates cooks for some reason. Every branch has a hated MOS. In the marines it’s MP, in the Air Force it’s finance. In the army, it’s cooks.
Pearson can't cook for shit though. He spent like 4 hours on prep and cooked for 2:45. Then we had to do a special side mission just to get decent seasoning for it. Dude is a lackey in the kitchen who begged us to get more meat when there was a ton of game just outside of camp.
Yeah that just shows how no one in camp is perfect and good with their job, it's why the camp is falling apart. Well kids like you wouldn't understand how adult works 😂
Agreed. I never had the chance to graduate from culinary school (the military and eventually college got in the way), but the feeling of going home after a long day and having some food and a bottle of Sam Adams on the table sure was something.

I love how every NPC in the game has there own life. That means you could watch every NPC do stuff if you really wanted. That sir is the most attention to detail I have ever seen
Now I'm surprised Arthur can eat his that fast without choking. On another note, he walks all the way out on the pier to smoke that pipe, yet puffs his ciggy just behind the tents? Are we sure Dutch really forgot his pipe or did it conveniently "disappear" when no one was looking?

for some reason pearson was my favourite camp companion, by far my most favourite and beloved moment in the whole game was when pearson was singing in beaver hollow and you could join him.
Watching Pearson take his time cooking while doing stuff in between putting food on a bowl is quite impressive it's like he's a living breathing character, watching him at the end credits looking at the picture of the gang made me cry
It is so insane the amounts of details. Do you know that if you go to rhodes store as John after tge story Pearson now owns the shop and everytime you go there they talk about old times 😍
The amount of details they had put into this game is astounding. Even the NPCs act and work like a real person. Imagine the amount of time and effort poured into capturing these movements.
Your content never ceases to impress. Your hard work and dedication are well demonstrated in the high-quality videos you make. Your channel will grow tremendously one day, mark my words.
The unsung hero of the gang, a true support. That part about letting everyone eat first was nice. Felt sorry for him, especially when everyone so easily criticises his food. Pearson even jeeringly agrees with their comments, poor guy.
I mean it took him 5 hours to start cooking since he woke up and another 7 hours to make a stew that takes roughly 2 hours to make (approx 1hr to prep and 1hr to cook) so i mean, is he really a hard worker? Also, he took 2 pisses, like 4 smoke breaks, 2 beers and never washed his hands.
@@Super_Death I feel like all the Pearson simps in the comments seem to not be noticing this for some reason 😂 Dude wakes up and spends 3 hours doing jack shit and then prepares the food extremely slowly, all while taking breaks, drinking, and smoking. It could simply be modern society's influence on my own mindset, but I could probably do his "job" faster myself were I taught how to do it or if I learned how to. I'm not saying I wouldn't appreciate the work he does, but it's not like he does ridiculously more than anybody else. He's just the only one in camp that prepares food for people - the same as other people go out and make money, or they clean, or they do chores.
Mr. Pearson and Ms. Roberts both make the best stew for the camp. Also Mr. Morgan bring in the stuff for Mr. Pearson so he can fix up the best meal ever.
I'm not going to lie at least every now and then during the game during the part where you use Arthur when I've gone hunting for meat for the pot I've brought home to Pearson at least one deer carcass and at least a couple of turkeys yeah you could say that Arthur's horse is coming in heavy a couple of times!
Pearson was my personal favorite character, bringing him all sorts of carcasses from hunting always made me felt like I accomplished something worth being proud of.
Yeah like I've said above whenever I would go hunting for meat for the pot so Pearson could cook up a nice stew usually I grab at least one deer carcass and two turkeys yeah Arthur's horse would be coming in heavy loaded!
Rockstar: Lets make the process as realistic as possible, from waking the npc up to cut the meat, to put it in the pot, heat up the stew, like in real life. CD Project Red: Lets spawn the npc, oh and also lets spawn the stew, in someone's head, when the player is not looking, despawn both the stew and the npc. PERFECT! Ubisoft: Lets copy paste both the stew and npc. EA Games: Lets charge 19,99$ for the npc, and then another 4,99$ for the stew, oh and dont forget the meat, only 1,99$ for the meat, yeah that would do it. Bethesda: Flying npc and stew, just for the fun of it!
Spot-on regarding EA especially! (Actually if this was a 'Sims' game- cooking stew with the help of someone else would be a whole new DLC for $20! )TRUE story!
I remember in Assassin's Creed III, I used to sit by and watch the tavern keeper, as a lot of his chores were surprisingly detailed. My favorite was catching him in the act of butchering a pig. He'd remove the entrails, clean the carcass and segment the limbs.
Ubisoft is kinda going EA with assasins Creed I noticed I'm playing the newest one Valhalla and besides trying to force you to make an account with them this game and the last 4 are trying to encourage you to buy in-game transactions to have an easier time

Fun fact: If arthur comes back to the camp after a long time. Then, Pearson is the only one who notices that and comments like, "Haven't seen you in quite some time" or "Good to see you back Mr Morgan."
Actually, Miss Grimshaw also comments on it.
Completely untrue. Everyone has different dialogue and notices
No, all the gang members notice

If I was an outlaw then I too would probably have been delegated as a camp cook. Pearson was one of the few to get out of the gang life and manage to live a peaceful life. Never disrespect the one feeding you.

Never bite the hand that feeds you
Pearson can't cook for shit though.

And eating Pearson’s food leaves a bad feeling in me! 🤮
