EDIT 2020: I figured I'd do a little update to this comment since I've been getting a ton of notifications about new replies to it.
So, since I first commented this, my opinion has changed slightly. I no longer only wear Arthur's hat. I either wear Arthur's hat or no hat at all. And when I play as John I either wear John's hat, Arthur's hat, or no hat at all. It's also worth mentioning that I hardly wear any other clothes besides the gunslinger and cowboy clothing sets.

For those who really like the duels, whenever in free roam a guy aims a gun at you, if you focus on them, and slightly while r2/rt, you r hand will go to your holster, and when you relase, deadye will instantly activate on its own, and it's just like a duel. you can shoot there gun out, that off, or kill them. It's really fun to mess around with. Especially when the law is pointing a gun at you, and it says reach for weapon on bottom right.
That ain't the same though as that isn't a duel it's just attacking someone. A real duel is when two people are both prepared to shoot, if you hold rt and then enter deadeye and they try to shoot that's not them dueling that's them defending themselves. I wish rdr2 had more duels in it like rdr1. Where in rdr1 if you were caught cheating you would be forced to duel the man who caught you cheating. But in rdr2 there is non of that. Only time you duel is in a mission or side mission or those random encounters but not only can you do those once but they aren't very common and on a second playthrough it feels like the exact same thing. So I gotta be salty to rockstar for not going far with the duelling system
That doesn’t work the second they see you going for ur holster they start shooting but if you antagonize someone then do it they will also slowly reach for their holster and draw when you do making it an official dual

If you go near the show in Valentine you may see a guy duel someone because he cheated. You can challenge him after he's done
Just hold lt or l1 on someone then slowly hold down rt or r1 like in a normal duel its not exactly a duel but closest you can get with peds
@@imnotaclown9603 Yes I get those events but in a situation that happens often in the game is you get into an argument with a guy and you can defuse or antagonize them, it would be cool if there was also a "challenge to a duel option".

You don't exactly "challenge them to a duel," but you can duel at anytime by slightly holding the trigger button

@@SubscribersWithNoVideos-ub2ww The game has so much content in it anyway, way more than RDR 1 in fact, and more variety too, so I'm not sure exactly how it gets boring. Like I said I didn't mind that you can't do that same minigame over and over again like in RDR1. For me, duels should be special events that occur only occasionally and I respect Rockstar's choice to implement them in the way they did in RDR 2. To each their own though.

In Red Dead 1 I liked that the meter showed you whether or not you can disarm someone in a duel. If you targeted the hand and the meter doesn't shoot up enough, that means you gotta kill them.
In Red Dead 2 there is no meter and I can see why you'd go for the kill every time.
It honestly sucked that there's not a lot of duels or bounties in this game.

Did you know you can practice Dueling in Free Roam. You just stand at a spot and start slightly pushing R2. You will see the Draw meter in the bottom right corner.

That's the glitched holster from the mission where you dress up as a cop. All the cutscene animations are off and you can't do the spinning holster animation.
There’s one encounter I didn’t see, happened in Valentine, Guy was too drunk to do the duel and passed out to even before you could take a shot. Funny 😂😂

@@xXSalvi503Xx lightly holding just makes your aim get closer to the target's head when you draw. It also slows down time more as usual. If you just press R2 then you'll be sorta off your target and you'll have less time in slow-mo

I just realized that micahs and Arthur’s clothes are opposites. Micah has a red t shirt while Arthur’s is blue. Arthur has dark pants with a bright jacket while Micah has the opposite. Micah has a white hat while Arthur has a black one
Even with the boots. Arthur by default has his pants tucked into his boots, while Micah has his pants outside the boots
Micah Wears a White hat. White clothing normally symbolizes being a hero and being a saver of everyone. Which what Micah grossly thinks he is, Micah Also wore a white Tuxedo during the heist.

Fun fact I found out from another video- you can do the quickdraw at any time in freeroam, as long as you aren't already in combat. You just have to hold R2 lightly and it'll start filling up, and you'll draw directly into dead eye.
There's another duel missing. You can find a railroad camp and help the foreman. The second mission for him is moving on Cornwall's men who have camped on the tracks. Arthur threatens them, and duels one of their men.

There's another one too in Roanoke Ridge, if you do the random events/side missions for the guys building new train tracks. At the second encounter three guys (probably hired by Cornwall) are camping there, so the company can't legally go on with the tracks. Arthur confronts and antagonizes them a bit, then pretends to defuse it and leave, only to turn around shortly afterwards and challenge one of them.
