    As always THANK YOU for watching! Special thank you to those who have watched my Mushoku Tensei reactions! Though season 2 is over I'll still be making Mushoku Tensei content and look forward to what will come! For those curious I posted some additional information down below regarding the workout challenge!
    How I started the challenge:
    I had the idea for attempting this workout roughly a year ago, but always wavered on the "when" and "where". I made up my mind the very last second that I was going to film this challenge and had nothing prepared, so the night before a storm was due to hit the following day, I went to a local Target and purchased cold gear to train outside in. The next day I filmed certain shots of how I envisioned the video to start. I brought my camera outside and thus the challenge began.
    What the hardest aspects of the challenge were:
    The hardest part of any workout routine is to start and carry it out the next day. As I explained in the video, repetition is important, but also gets very tiresome. My motivation was to complete the challenge and I believe filming it held me to be accountable, not wanting to slack and fabricate a day.
    Does this workout routine work:
    Absolutely! Depending on what your physical starting point is (physique), completing these tasks each day will slowly mold your body over time. As they say there are no shortcuts when it comes to training.Even if you don't notice any results right away, keep at... and trust in the Greyrat workout!
    My own personal experience in fitness:
    I have ran quite a bit before in the past, but never attempted a challenge like this before. Prior to starting this challenge I stopped working out for roughly a year and half. Eating whatever I wanted to eat and lounging around as much as I wanted to lounge. Give or take, this challenge was incentive for me to get back in shape and I think it adds support to how Rudeus obtained the physique that he did in the anime.
    The Field: Roughly 4 laps around a football field equates to "1 mile" (1760 yards). The field I was running on equates to about 5 laps around to equal (1760 yards).

    "A MONTH HAD PASSED since my enrollment. Rudeus the Quagmire's school life
    was a monotonous one. First I woke up in the morning, then, as had become my daily routine, I began my training. According to a manga I read in my previous life, there was a man who did push-ups and squats a hundred times, ran ten kilometers, and sacrificed his hair to obtain enough power to become the strongest in the world. I didn't want to lose my hair, so I had to work a little harder than him. Specifically by practicing with my wooden sword. Such training had value only because I continued doing it daily."
    It is a saitama inspired rudeus routine XD. Good job man.

    The first season made me read the novel, it was the 3rd novel I read.
    When I gave you this idea, I didn't expect you to do it, it's very difficult. It's incredible that you made this content, seriously.

    As everyone said, you even look like Rudeus himself. And your video inspired me to do workout more than I did regularly.
    I rode a bicycle to work for almost 3 years till now (3.1 miles in 15-20 minutes depending on the weather and traffic condition so it's over 6 miles trip per day) and I did a stretching yoga at home after work because I have a severe office syndrome in my neck, shoulders and rhomboids so no push-ups allowed (yet unless it's getting better).
    I always wanted to try more running and more advanced stretches but can't find myself woke up before 8 in the morning in my day off (and it's so freaking hot in Thailand after the morning till midnight). I will rewatch this video first thing in the morning from now on to convince myself to start doing what you did. Not for the shape, but a healthier body at least.

    • @LykesonRose
      @LykesonRose  День назад +1

      Being someone who works from home on a computer every day, I slowly felt my body being restricted, and I too felt it difficult to wake up early to actually motivate myself to workout. With this video idea, it helped motivate me to start running in the mornings and attempt to implement push ups, sit ups, and air squats into a routine.
      Everybody has different motivators and factors in life when it comes to working out, but any activity to help your body move is beneficial. Stretching is something that is very important (imo) and I need to start doing more myself.
      I wish you the best of luck in your continued workout and running!

    For anyone trying this too try 6 days exercise and 1 day of rest. That rest day helps your body recovers from fatigue making you acclimate better. A 2 day break is just as good. but don't do a 3 day break. The third day of rest is not as useful and it generally make the next day exercise harder because you rested too much.

    His sword is a stone sword, which would actually make the workout similar to a "shovel glove" or "axe" workout. To match this, you can take a weighted bar or a short dumbbell bar with no weight.

    The anime trope "Daily Workout" is a great motivator, and something is always better than nothing, but this would have gone so much better even just splitting it into two groups of movements to avoid repeating exactly the same workout every day. Muscles always respond to stimulus best with 48-72 hours of rest between stress events.
    The next flaw in doing exactly the same training routine daily is you should always increase difficulty as your body adapts. Eventually 100 reps is not enough, though if you look at anime like Dragon Ball they often make use of weighted clothing so that does accomplish progressive resistance.

    If I remember correctly he didn't use a regular training sword but a sword made from stone or something like that which made it a lot heavier, just in case I'm not saying this as critize or something, I think the video is great, is just want to give some justification to the sword exercise.

    Haha be very careful of your friends, especially hercules
    I remember seeing you do the banana test on the micro when you watched Steins;Gate haha considering this, NEVER watch "Made in Abyss" (just kidding, it's one of the best anime I've ever seen) for your own sanity and ours, you should never try anything from there ever.

      Spent a good week casually editing, then realized I was going to be away again, so I dedicated 4-5 days of editing this video. Re-downloading all the days onto an external hard drive then onto my video editor took the longest... not to mention how much videos made my editor lag (due to the time duration of each day).
      I'd say if you can get past the first month, implementing some kind of workout will get easier every day.
      YES! THE STEINS;GATE CALL BACK! I remember editing that video and the Steins;Gate reaction days. Like Mushoku, those videos were really fun to make edits on!
      When the first season of Made in Abyss came out I actually watched the series, and let me tell you.. I was NOT ready for what happened.
      I can tell you for certainty I would never try anything from there...

    At what point does it start to become more about cardio than strength? Day 60?
    Without progressive overload, training with just your body weight can become too easy, and your workout can turn into more of a glorified cardio session with excessive volume. This won't help you build muscle, but it will definitely make you tired.
    In the after-result, it seems like you've just lost some fat, which has led to increased muscle definition. This could be due to your calorie deficit diet or excessive cardio resulting in fat loss.
    Anyway keep making videos, was a fun watch :D

      I went based on the One Punch Man workout, since that's where Rudeus got his inspiration from.
      *Based on a previous comment since I never read the LN
      Apparently Rudeus didn't run the full 6 miles (or 6.2 miles) because he didn't want to have his hair fallout.

    • @LykesonRose
      @LykesonRose  День назад

      For the first month or so I'd say about an hour for the workout. The running would take about 30 minutes (I ran until I could no longer) and then the push ups, sit ups, air squats took in total about 15 minutes (if you don't take any long resting breaks). The final day was about an hour and 20 minutes if I recall (for the 6 miles, 100 push ups, air swings, air squats, sit ups).
      Generally I'd say an hour or two out of the day because of hydrating/eating/resting.

    12:21. If you had the right sword, and you were swinging it properly, you'd sure as heck see results. Back in HS I studied Kendo, and I'd do a thousand cuts a day with a Shinai, and it gave me lightning fast hands, my upper body was in great shape, but my forearms were especially shredded. Now if you weren't going to do the thousand cuts (my sensei's requirement) and you were only going to do 100, you'd need to step up to a suburi bokken. (This is a weighted bokken especially designed for cut training.) Now here is the second key to cut training: You perform shomen uchi cuts AS FAST AS YOU CAN WITH NO REST. I'd bring the sword straight down, making the cut as straight as possible, and I would immidiately being the sword right back up that same line, and then right back down again (trying to maintain a sold note as I cut through the air, for the entire set). I do that in sets of 100, you'd do it in sets of 10 (since you're only doing 100, and you're working with a weight sword). Also, to make sure you're cuts are straight, you perform the cuts in front of something that is straight up and down (like the corner of a wall), so you can see how your cut deviated from its path. This is important, as it's the control that adds the cherry to this exercise. If you're doing this right, it will test your mental resolve, as you're going to be in agony.

      This is something I would like to properly train in (more so as a hobby), so it was interesting to read from the perspective of someone who has experience in this field. I've only seen videos from what you described above, as some of the words are foreign to me (I'm not familiar with). I take it consistency and properly executing the technique over and over again are the key to becoming a master in Kendo. "Long term consistency, trumps short-term intensity."
      Thank you for sharing this!

    • @bujin5455
      @bujin5455 16 часов назад

      @@LykesonRose I did use some Japanese in that description, but you should be able to google each term to see examples. To master Kendo will take instruction, above and beyond doing cut training. However, the cut training I just described will transform your body, and it will give you amazingly fast hands, that are super accurate (you can reach out and touch things at speed, especially useful for martial arts), and your grip will be crazy (you could grab someone's wrist and make them want to cry).
      Now there are details I left out, like how you're supposed to grip the sword, and what a properly executed cut actually looks like (hard to describe, easier to show). Concerning the grip, when you grab a sword, your left hand should be on bottom, there should be a fist of empty space before you grip above with your right hand. You also want to grip the sword firmly but softly, like you're trying to hold onto a bird that you neither want to hurt nor let escape. You want to maintain this grip as you use the sword (a very difficult thing to do, as your desire will be to crush the hilt to death). This is proper technique for holding the Japanese katana.
      However, for training, I would double my sensei's recommendation, and I would reverse my grip (left over right), in order to maintain symmetry, and do the work out on both sides. Assuming you're wanting to take this very seriously, after you master the 1,000 cuts with a shinai (I think that is superior to 100 cuts with a suburi bokken), actually 2,000 as you're doing the exercise both left and right handed, you then move on to doing the cuts single handed. If you can control the shinai with one hand, just like you could with two, you're an absolute unit, and a force to reckon with. (I watched my sensei doing the cuts one handed, and it was completely demoralizing. Though that explained the utterly inhuman things he could do during sparing.) With that said, once you can do one handed cuts, and you can perform them correctly and with real power, you focus about 80% of your efforts toward one handed cuts. This is when your cut volume goes down a lot, as at this point, you're basically peak, you just have to maintain your abilities.
