I am in total awe. I discovered Dirty Loops 10 days ago and my jaw dropped. I keep watching "Work shit out" day in day out since. I am still in total disbelief in front of this uncanny display of über musicianship. And the connection between the three is just pure chemical magic. Pure osmosis. They've known each other since they were young, as I get it, they went to the same excellent music schools. They played together an awful lot to develop such connivence. It's a perfect storm as a band. And the musical creativity! The surprising chords progressions throughout the song. Linder is a beast. He's in Wooten's and Jaco's league. I can't figure how he can be so skilled. Jonah's voice was probably engineered in a secret lab under a mountain in northern Sweden for his voice is out of this world. Ah, and he's an outstanding key player! He does BOTH!! And Aron's technical chops and steadiness are matched only by his originality and utter precision in delivering such complex beats. Ok, I will calm down now. I can't help it, Their energy and enthusiasm are just totally contagious. I live in Montreal and I hope to see them in a venue soon.

Day 2 of watching Dirty Loops flicks, exclusively. It's like an alien life form just entered my existence. For me, maybe the greatest musical discovery for the last one or two decades. There's so much in it.
THE MONSTERPIECE The one and only song you'll ever need. Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Classic, Soul, Ballad, Improvisation, Indian, Symphonic, Drumsolo, Filmscore. Over and out!
@@neve1064 I would like to say, 50% of a great drum sound comes from a great instrument and the room it is put in which is well set up, prepared and TUNED by the drummer or a drum technician suitable for this track or production. 48% comes from the drummer and the way he/she plays, meaning if he can actually get the instrument to sound or just bashes snare or hi hat. Also hitting the set parts in adequate volume related to each other. The last 2% may come from a mic preamp.....so don't focus on those small parts right away, work on the obvious parts first.
This song is surreal. They've always been amazing but this song specifically portrays each members musical journey. You can tell that they can be very independent musically. They each have their own flare and style. Yet, they understand music theory so well that they know exactly how to create a pop/funk/jazz hyperfusion from another reality that highlights each of their own styles and abilities. So many emotions put into this song. And the fact that it's so complex but it looks like they are just basically jamming and having fun - Crazy.
They have a chemistry that goes way way way beyond theory tho. Let me tell you : theory-based musicians (musicians who are always referring to theory when describing music rather than feelings and are unable to not have a partition) are usually dull sounding and boring to jam with. They're the equivalent of someone who already learned a langage but goes around with a dictionary just to double check every word that comes out of their mouth - it just doesn't flow, it doesn't sound natural. Music theory also teach you literally nothing of any genre. It doesn't teach you music history. It only explains musical phenomenons so we can deconstruct them and communicate better with written music and have a larger palette of sounds are out disposal.
@@jonchapman7901 The entire point of the band is (or once was when they did covers almost exclusively) to parody pop songs in an insanely complex manner, really over the top, and just overplaying to the max. I find it weird. I clicked for the band's name. Got disappointed by the silly boring poppy beginning, but amazed at the jazz part. I can't figure why they've made it this way as of yet.

I literally just found out about your group an hour ago - and I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! Getting goosebumps having listened to this multiple times already. So much talent!
Every member of this group sends me off into cloud nine man. I just love that drummer. He has a lot of energy! (Its over 9000!!!) I love the way he goes off there beginning at the solo to the last strike of the cymbal. Probably one of the best drum solos I've ever heard, followed by a groovy ass bass and a nice blend of latin jazz and symphonic metal. Anyways, I just heard of these guys and this hit put them on top of my list! They all hold it down really well.
Praise to Aaron here is non-negotiable, however without question - what makes this tune for me is Erik's MONSTER performance, those driving, octave-based 16s and 32s are so y u m m y, and when in 1:00 Aaron adds good ole' "4 to the floor"... man, Im afraid Im engorging. 5 years later, my first listen remains as one of the most "OH SH*T" moments in my musical life so far.
At my age there are not a lot of musical moments that get me whooping, but this performance has a number of them. Love it! Always feel sad when it ends.
This is epic!! They are the culmination of everything I love in music. That piano solo was absolutely beautiful!! My eyes watered up , those chords took me on a journey.. and I can't even with those drums and that bass...just perfection!! So glad to be alive to have heard these guys!

And probably a 99% DI sound :)
hahahaha!!
only 7 amps. You probably meant cabinets, which he has 11 +Edit: 3 of which can be counted as 2 each technically, so 14 cabs if you want to see it that way.
Yes. And the stereo mics placed two inches from each other REALLY make it!
I didn't even know I was holding my breath until the credits rolled. SO GOOD.
Right? :D
When I heard the piano solo I was like what???? Then comes the drum solo! BassTone, touch. This is music for musicians not for everyone! 👌🏿
This music is only for musicians. Im a drummer and was blown away and my wife was like what the hell is this.Lol
Wife didn't like it either.. lol
I literally just found out about your group an hour ago - and I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! Getting goosebumps having listened to this multiple times already. So much talent!
Jajaja me paso la primera vez.bienvenido !
Finally! after years of hiatus... this is what we need, crazy licks with epic drum solo
THE RETURN OF THE KINGS!!!!!!
These guys absolutely nailed it. Amazing quality - but not only the musicians are on point. Also camera, color grade, sound - just one word: PERFECT!
I've never ever seen or heard such a amazing band. They got it all. Hat off:-)
Every member of this group sends me off into cloud nine man.
Sound engineer: especial thanks: drummmm 👏🏼👏🏼
Coming from a metal band....got to say this is just amazing....! Loved it every second! So much passion
For me this almost played out like a movie, walking you through various scenes of imagination. Such a masterfully composed piece
I remember why you are my favorite band. Holy...
2:41 to the end is pure magic
EDIT: 0:00 to the end is pure magic
What a weird combination!
Sounds so fresh and new. These guys knows what they're doing! Good job!
I'd say they've worked their shit out. Bravo, what a kick ass tune.
This is really insane!!!! I am glad they are back with new stuff...My favorite band for the last 8 years. Hope they come again to Holland.
Haha 4:27 you sir listened to cory henry on lingus! Amazing!!!
good catch.
Yeah, that also immediately popped in my mind. Awesome work on keys there!
Well that's quite a great inspiration source, no doubt.
'the lingus' is the new 'the lick'
We’re all stealing the shit outta that move
This is epic!!
They are the culmination of everything I love in music.
That piano solo was absolutely beautiful!! My eyes watered up , those chords took me on a journey.. and I can't even with those drums and that bass...just perfection!!
So glad to be alive to have heard these guys!
This is already the best thing that happened this year.
Pure art.
This is amazing!!! I'm so glad you all have new music coming our way. It's been a long time coming, but I can't wait to hear it all.
Dirty Loops saving the music once again! 👍👍

Simon Petrén, mixing and mastering this track. He’s a world class musician, sound engineer, producer and what not, a real monster when it comes to professional knowledge on everything ‘Sound’….
Combined with Dirty Loops, it’s skill non plus.
This piece it not just my Dirty Loops favourite with all their insane musical ideas and chops and the crazy journey they take you on here, but also showcases Simon’s input so well….
