Dirty Loops are from another planet. Seriously !!!!! Nobody comes close for speed, accuracy and musicianship. I truly believed Buddy Rich was the best drummer to ever have lived and I have held that opinion for over 50 of my 63 years on this planet. Then Aron Mellegard of Dirty Loops turns up !!!!!! Not so sure about Buddy now.
With Jonah Nilsson and Henrik Linder added, that trio is not merely insanely fantastic, they are totally otherworldly. Nothing comes really close, in my opinion.
I sooooooooo love this band. It is crazy, but after 10 years they never bore me out. I love the high level of musicality and the extreme talent that only top musicians have. Same level like Prince, MJ, Jacob Collier, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marcus Miller, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chaka Khan and lot's of others i did not mention. Thank you Henrik, Jonah and Aron for the guts. Also thanks to Quincy and Andreas.
This cut is insane musicianship like it has never been seen before. The clean and precise execution and articulation of these two are just amazing. I've never heard a rhythm section find as many ghost notes within the groove as these two. Nice work, guys and keep them coming!
2:03 these guys are so tight in the pocket it’s like they can get to a place that’s flipping spiritual! It’s literally musically United souls. And speaking of soul, if you can’t hear the pocket or feel the soul when those guys play, you’re not even worthy of watching the video! Well, that’s probably not fair to say, but they are definitely in the top, less than 1% of musicians in the world as far as I’m concerned!
I've only watched it 30 times by now. Super-modern real live music doesn't get any better than this. Kudos to the insane drummer and bassist, of course, and thanks to their backup artists as well.
OUTSTANDING! Henrik is the best BASSIST i have ever heard! Aron’s drumming and style is at a whole new level. These guts should b MUCH farther along then they are! They r truly amazing and have a one of a kind style. Quincy should b promoting WAY more then he has!
When I first found them, I stayed up all night watching everything I could from them. They toured US and Canada earlier this year and I got a chance to see them in Denver. They are amazing. They have a new LP dropping on Friday and I can't wait. Look forward to seeing you check out more of their stuff.
That was really fun to watch, you guys are locked in! Henrik looks super relaxed no matter what crazy stuff he's playing, makes it look even more unbelievable.
I'm not a bass expert but I think the fact that he has a 6 strings bass helped with his consistency in hitting those notes. And yes I do agree that though it looks easy, the imaginary strain that you feel when he's hitting those notes makes your brain hurt
@@Ibanizt The bass strings are a lot harder to play that fast with. Although check out Billy Sheehan if you want to see crazy fast where he actually keeps up with super guitarists.
@@Ibanizt Give him b, e, a string from a bass and see how fast he would be :). No way you can be as fast on these thick strings, plus it would be sooo muddy. :)
My brain has been exploded by the fact the drum solo is basically played entirely 1 beat behind the "true metronome", but then goes back to the true metronome and the bass joins back in at the right time. It's a real thinker.
@@jesperjee Sure, it's a joke about Jonah being gone, and also a play on words on the proverb "When the cat's away, the mice will play." The bass is playing the vocal part from their last release "Rock You." Or at least, it sounds really similar, here: ruclips.net/video/gYc5zrXC52k/видео.html

One of the best rhythm sections, ever. And that snare sound...
...the chemistry between these two is just musically insane !!!!
Watching Henrik shred those sixteenth notes hurts my arm. Those chops are insane!
I’m always fake bass playing the hook and my arm always gives out lmao

It's hard to find your perfect match (period)

Aron is quickly becoming my favorite fusion drummer and I’ve been playing for 16 years. I’ve got a lot to learn from his fills AND grooves!
dirty loops + vulfpeck needs to happen in my lifetime please god
