The five minute 30 second intro to that trumpet solo was insane.

Nice!
Having Steve Vai in your song is a new whole level of “you’ve made it” as a guitar player
Or chello :))
yes!
i just want to be seen
Agreed, always thought he was great. Really cool to see Steve make it!
Ibanez probably put this together tbh, but hey I'm not complaining one way or the other.
Tim is so technical and it's crazy but Steve can make a guitar sing and you can't ever get away from the fact that 40 years of loving your instrument teaches something that you can't describe and can only appreciate it.
I feel like Scott killed this song over everyone. His spot is technical melodically brilliant.
I don't like the Steve Vai part. Whammy bars are lame.
I think Scott is getting the recognition he deserves finally. Because he is just as good if not better then tim. His parts always deliver.
Steve is of course an absolute legend, but he can’t keep up with new blood in this day and age. Whilst his part is awesome and fits very well, it’s hardly something challenging for the likes of Tim and Scott.
100% feel like they just overcomplicate things for the sake of it. Big difference between making noice and music.

I kept waiting wondering how they'll do it. Wouldn't have thought of a better entrance.
For a while I have read „betseen the Iinsane gods“
Even though i knew Vai was coming from the title, this shot still made me really emotional.
Much respect to one of the OGs that paved the way for guitar playing to advance the way it did, and so proud of the Polyphia boys for getting to where they to get let a living legend share their proverbial stage.
Love everything about this tune and video!
Okay but who are you?
I love the ending. All these legendary virtuosos paying homage to the greatest virtuoso of all. A trumpeter who can play multiple trumpet parts at once on a single trumpet.

Polyphia isn't "legendary" yet. They know that, hence Steve in his throne. If they keep this up, they will be. But you can't be in your 20's early 30's and be considered a legend. It just doesn't work that way haha
Damn this Steve guy is really good at guitar. No wonder he got featured in a Polyphia song. I hope he will make it big someday. I support you Steve bro. Goodluck and keep practicing.

Steve Vai's path is unique and his creativity is boundless. It always has been and always will be! (thanks for watching my silly video though :))
Your music theory for dummies videos are some of the best man!!!
I like how much Steve's parts here actually reflect the title and theme of the song. Instead of doing his usual acrobatic wankery (in a good way), he lets the youngins do all the super technical stuff, and his solos are obviously not about trying to impress anyone but rather soulful singing parts meant to communicate transcendental emotional states or something along those lines instead.

100% my thoughts as well. Didn't make it about himself, just adds his otherworldly sensibility to the mix.
With how Scott and Tim shred it would be silly to try to outshine them technically, he brought the musicality that is unique only to Vai and played to that strength and it made the song so goddamn good.
@@nighght2789 You realize Vai can shred even better than them, right? Vai can come up with shit like this ON THE SPOT. He's from a different generation. Tim and Scott are insanely talented, but they aren't on the same level as Vai in terms of improv, nor theory/experience. It wouldn't be silly, but it just wasn't necessary.
I think these guys have won at guitar. They've reached the true tetris end screen. I'm not sure how it's really possible to bring multiple guitarists together and sound any better than this.
Also, that trumpet outro was perfection.
They brought 90's best guitarist in their music video. Hell bro. Respect. Good to see Steve vai after so many years.
Out of all the shred generation of guitarists from the 80/90s, Steve Vai seems like the only one who always seems genuinely thrilled by seeing new talents coming up and taking music in new directions. I always found his friendship with Jacob Collier really wholesome and it was great seeing both collaborate. It's really cool to see him collaborate with Polyphia too! What a great guy.
He comments a bit on Berries Alive's content as well, seems like a genuinely wholesome dude.
John Petrucci is a fan of these new talents too :)
I agree. He seems to be genuinely happy that he gets to play guitar every day for a living. I think music as a career would be exhausting so when the “old guard” stays engaged with the new guys, it’s just awesome to see!

A badass ? More like a legend , that will be remembered in history , cant say the same for that band 🤷🤣
It happened to me once , I was in my home studio playing shit with my archetype plini plugin , my dad , who has always been a bluesy boomer guitarist just stopped for once , and he was interested in the sound of the guitar going through my PC , so I handed it to him , and I made some loops in Ableton, he dropped a damn good riff , took a mic and just blew up some lyrics like if he was beck or something, it was magical
We always struggled playing together because we're not very good musicians and he never showed interest in production, and it never happened again , but it happened once , and I'm so grateful for that

Love the song, love the playing, love the players but with all due respect, I have to be honest, on the last few songs they've put out I'm not really liking the drum sounds. Kinda wimpy in my opinion. If you're going to use real drums and then process them to sound like a beat box, then just use a beat box. I get that they're trying to be different with the drum sound and they're trying to break new ground but personally, I'm just not feeling it. Sorry I know I'll be in the minority but that's how I feel.

Generic djent and "govan-esque" stuff without the depth... but since The Most Hated these guys been delivering absolute bangers. Basically reshaping and redefining what can be expected from guitar-centered music, creating their own style on top of that. This new era of Polyphia is beyond sick, it's mindblowing.
Definitely a bridge between 2 generations. One of their greatest songs in my opinion.
That's one cryptic line Steve plays as an intro. The solo has a story structure to it, exceptional.
4:13 this drop gives me the absolute best fuckin headache. I believe it's one of the best sounds I've ever heard in my life
No joke I've listened to just this part over 20 times
F***ing Brilliant ❤❤❤
Steve is so good that even he looks surprised by the sounds the guitar makes
🤣
Now I'll remember this comment every time I see his face while his playing
brilliant
lmaoo
So true hahahah
The fact that drummer can seamlessly play with them is CRIMINALLY underrated.
is that a joke lol the drums are heavily edited. They're muted half the time he's playing lmao
@@x0j they're not edited - have you seen him do playthroughs of that stuff? its real dude
@@x0j All of the instruments are edited. But they can all play all of it. Just watch his playthroughs, the dude has the juice to play it. Sound mixing happens in nearly every song these days. Why make a point of it here?
@@x0j Hmm, smells like troll :D Seems like you just wanted to say something negative about the drumming here.
That statement, in and of itself, is moot IMO... lol. "Heavily edited" isn't limited to just one individual's perspective regarding how you might define those 2 words. Is it not the case that a good amount of recorded music in general could be considered, as you might say, "heavily edited"?
Haha nah, everybody just records and releases collections of raw tracks. No tampering at all, especially today with the many amazing tools easily at musician's disposal for sound creation.
Maybe it's just me, but the way you worded that comment just seemed silly, and simply just for the purpose of expressing your personal displeasure with the music :)
@@x0j You must be new to the music world lol, music videos are always edited, hence the term music VIDEO and not live performance.
Thank you guys for helping me find the path to eternal light. I wouldn't have gotten this far without your songs, and inspiration. It all.makes sense now.
One of the best instrumental/guitar songs EVER IMO!!!👏👏
absolutely agree.
Literal chills when I see the shot of all 3 of them back to back. Absolutely unreal. No track has made me smile like this one has. I fucking love Polyphia.
That stood out to me too. They're all on the same team just killing it
Your comment is quite cringe
@@TheNaKio you're quite cringe
I did wonder if perhaps all three butts touched. If so, I admire how professionally they handled it.
@@nickwhite1897 Nah he right that shot was cheesy af lmao
One minute these guys are pushing the hyper-pop boundaries for the zoomer generation with ABC, now they're paying tribute to the greats with a triumphant guitar anthem on a rooftop with Steve Vai fronting the band like he's been there the whole time. Love Polyphia.
I love this cuz countless boomers just disregard Polyphia but having Steve Vai on a song and recognize your talent is something else.
My guy ABC was not hyper pop kmao
@@gonk3551 at this point I don't even know what it is. it had prog guitar with pop vocals and a load of other shit aswell. good shit tho
@@gonk3551 the band said that the song was hyperpop so yeaaaa
@@gonk3551 what would you call it?
There has to be a Grammy-Nomination for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" incoming!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Polyphia standing and playing guitar and Steve (Guitar God) Vai sitting on the throne and playing. Damn❤️. The best day for all guitarists out there
The Vai section really takes this song into another dimension. Amazing feelings. Makes you want to watch on repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat ....
Exactly and it's incredible how Vai completely grasp the soul of the song and resonate with young mates. He's not pretending at all, he felt what boys felt and accorded himself onto a point in which he even nailed an almost perfect Vai style solo with Vai licks and vibes that we get used to for decades, on this neo soulish track. I even kinda felt that boys also felt what i'm talking and felt sincere respect and appreciation.
How is it a song if no one sang?
@@Kevin.7. dumb logic, yngwies best songs are without vocals
Honestly wish Steve did a bit more melodic shredding like he did back in the day and relied on the trem a bit less, but what are ya gonna do. Song still slaps.
@@user-nk3re4dj5h I was waiting for a good part of tasteful shred & tapping, myself! 😆 But that three-part harmony was damn good.
The contrast with steve vai's whammy abuse and polyphia's rhythm, just sends chills down your spine. Literally the best polyphia song so far
whammy abuse lmao
When I saw Vai in a Polyphia song, figured he was just gonna break out some 80s shredding... I wasn't expecting THAT. It's like he's playing like Polyphia but in a way only Steve Vai can. This is it this is easily the best Polyphia song ever.
@@nicklane607 Frank Zappa used to credit Vai, on his first credits on albums with appellations like "Strat abuse," ', stunt guitar," and "impossible guitar parts." Steve Vai has been getting these kind of tags since he joined Zappa in the dawn of the eighties.
I remember, I was making people listen to stuff like THE JAZZ DISCHARGE PARTY HATS and THE DANGEROUS KITCHEN on THE MAN FROM UTOPIA. Amazing dude with outrageous discipline..
Uff hard to decide. I think playing god is even better than this one
@@lawyerlawyer1215 but no Steve vai in playing god
Tim is so lit. He’s going so hard right here 4:49 . Dude might legitimately be the best in the world right now. His skill level is off the charts
Have you seen Matteo Mancuso? :)
The Steve Vai entrance at the scene its epic!
