$50 H616 handheld please 😀
Sega Saturn game: Shining the Holy Ark
there already is odroid go advance
Can't wait til i see what the diy community does with this pi zero 2 from orange pi , that is if they ever find it
@@mayamatuszczyk2436 This is more powerful than the OGA.
Yep right away
Hey Taki, a few subscribers (me included) were wondering what is the name of the game that appear in your previous RG280 video at 7:12?
Can we just take a minute to appreciate that most of these systems cost $200 and $300 new, and we can now emulate most of them perfectly on a $20 board that fits in a pocket and can run for days on batteries that wouldnt even turn on the original systems? Leading and bleeding edge tech steals the spotlight, graphics cards with higher resolution than the human eye can see, pulling more and more power, throwing off enough heat to cook over, with ever higher price tags. I find the leaps forward made by this "back end" of SBCs and emulation to be far more impressive.
Human eyes can see at least 16K, so no, current graphics cards cannot push further than human eyes can see.
Even 1 petaflops card is nothing compared to what fully fledged virtual worlds will require.
@u r you really made my mind explode and that is a deep compliment on how you said that shit
Yes
Yes but 300 new 2 decades ago lol
For $20 I feel like this is game changer, thanks for bringing this to our attention
First of all... "love your videos!"
Being able to play so many nostalgic games (PS 1 and N64) in a such affordable advice, masked me very happy.
Thanks for all your work and please keep going with that!
✌️😁
You can emulate all of this on your pc and save $20
This is a serious little device. The way this runs God Of War rivals many of the mid range handheld devices I have. And N64 is very good. Impressive for such a low price. And I agree, someone needs to make a cheap handheld with this. Take my money🤣. Awesome video👍🏾
From my standpoint the excitement is not that I could go out and buy this, but that it shows that commercial N64/Saturn/Saturn mini consoles are technologically feasible.
The Saturn is what really impresses me. Emulating that system takes so much power, yet this board seems to be able to do it.
I think the technical side of things is the easy part. It's the licencing of the games that's the nightmare and I believe largely the reason why we haven't seen a mini N64.
Brilliant review Taki! I was completely blown away at the capability of such a small profile board. Both audio and visual capability are exceptional. Considering the price, this unit has boundless potential for all manner of projects. 👌😎
This is crazy!!! Thanks for the video Taki
Wow. Thanks for always bringing these videos to us at the perfect times
This is a great project board, it'll be interesting to see what people do with it. Great video man, subbed! :)
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks for your channel. Its one of my favorites on the platform.
Thanks for being a sub for 11 months!
I totally agree I think when I subbed you were around 20k? and it just keeps going up cause of the quality of your testing and you make it easy to understand for someone like me who went to voc/tech high school and took Cisco systems curriculum way back after the turn of the millennium and now I work with the other Sysco cause I'm a cook lol cause I found networking so0 boring lol
You cheeky bastard sneaking in that shot with the new 8bitdo fightstick. I wanna see a review of that so baddddd lol
The reason it's 20$ is cause the shipping is 15$ lol
From Amazon. Cheaper at AliExpress.
The actual reason is that it's manufacturer, Shenzhen Xunlong Software, is subsidized by the chinese government. Because china sees the value in growing that industry domestically.
Orange Pi boards are sold at cost of BOM on aliexpress.
For the same cost I could get a Pi 4 with 2GB of RAM. I agree with your implied sense that this thing is overpriced.
@@DrCognitive Well it's not $15 shipping if you order it direct from shenzhen xunlong on aliexpress. More like $4. I personally feel like it hasn't been shown that H616 boards are substantially superior to H3 boards like the zero plus, but support for the mali gpu in linux is getting a lot better lately with the panfrost project.
Seems to be even cheaper from here: www.bonanza.com/listings/Orange-Pi-Zero-H2-Quad-Core-Open-source-512MB-Development-Board/459448055
The pi’s version of “can it play doom?” Is Minecraft
All the ports in one side. I love it.
Damn this looks great, do you think it's worth getting or do you think it's worth waiting a couple months for an even better handheld for example? I've been wanting to get a new emulator device but they seem to get "outdated" very fast.
Thanks! Subbed and just bought one of these things!
WOW Chains of Olympus ran better than I expected.
Golden Eye looking playable on a sub $20 board. Pretty impressive.
Lower price, average specs.
Moore's Law playing out its last gasps in the SBC field.
your amazon link in the description is broken; many thx man. Good video
Good video. Do you know if the oled panel is from Samsung or LG ?
I own the Gigabyte Aero Oled high-end laptop, the screen is impressive, Pentone Calibrated, but not touchscreen.
Does this monitor equivalent to Aero Oled screen ? (if you experience it)
I think, there is one thing important missing ; a tilt or gyroscope inside the monitor. this is a must have option for android phone connection if you want to use it like a tablet .
(on aliepress I saw monitor having it, in 4K touch, but not oled lol)
DO you know if a 17 or a 24inch oled monitor will be on sell ?
Thanks for your review
Gracias por el video estaba esperando un video así de esta placa que pediré
Great board, the performance for that price is awesome.
This reminds me I still have Pi3B+ awaiting a RetroPie install for some sweet, sweet PSX games. I wonder if Dreamcast would work on 3B+ now, as you are saying 4 had problems with it.
Wow, that's one hell of a value. I'd interested in building some sort of DIY handheld with this. Need to do a lot of research first tho. Maybe you wanna make a video about DIY handhelds? 👀
Wow game changer! Subscriber from Philippines 👌
Okay, you’ve won me over and have now subscribed. Late to the emu game having bought a rg350m and am now searching for a great block to play DS straight through PS3. Suggestions welcome, and thanks!
Hey Taki, I received my board and loaded the Orange Pi Android image as my OS. Completely agree with you that the interface is terrible and went the ATV route instead. One question I have is how do you safely power down from Android? I couldn’t find any options for a shut down in either the stock interface nor in ATV.
Would hate to pull the plug to shut off each time and risk corrupting the SD card.
Thanks in advance
Is there any way you know of to play PS2 games (doesn’t have to be anything else) on the go or pretty much with minimal equipment as you were doing now?
The psp games looked upscaled even. Im quite amazed.
He said they're running at 1080p
@@MrReddragongamingHD they can run at 4k without upscaling... i highly doubt they were at 4x resolution...
you see there is difference between stretching the original resolution to 1080p and actually rendering the game at 1080p
@@IcoKirov Yes I realise the difference. But look at the Jak and Daxter gameplay, or even God of War. No way those games are rendered in the original resolution, they have far more detail and visual clarity.
@@MrReddragongamingHD yeah, that's why i said they looked upscaled. but i cant see how this board will struggle so much with others like n64 and dreamcast, sega saturn, but be able to run psp upscaled to 4x...
also he said it can run the 30 fps games well, which means it would struggle on the 60. but if they were upscaled, then just dropping the scaling would make them run good...
so i'm confused overall. i mean they could be upscaled... but...
@@IcoKirov ppsspp is really well optimized. Plus android emulators are crap
What am I doing wrong with my PI4?
Wow that’s impressive!
Ooh, I didn't know Exophase was open sourcing DraStic! Good for him! What a fantastic emulator! Excited to see it on other platforms!
Am I better buying a Rasberry Pi 4gb and a case to use to pay retro games on, versus the Powkiddy A14 or a Pandora Box
I bought this board after watching your video. But i can't flash the .img to an SD so it would boot. Do you have any pointers? Thanks
Unbelievable so impressed
which version of orange pi image did you download from the orange pi portal? you were not specific? Can you give me a hint?
Hi, can I ask how you installed android? I tried using the image provided by the official website but when I power it up nothing boots up, just a dark screen (the board led stays red)
I saw this device on Amazon I didn't think of it much but now I want one
So when do we get a cool NESpi or Gpi case for it?
finally someone made a video on it
Slightly off topic, but how'd you get your health and hunger to display at the top in Minecraft like that?
Did orange pi ever get back to you on 64bit support?
I appreciate it but where do you get the emulation apps without the store?
Hi taki. Big fan of your work. why no ps2 emulation test on this device?
So wich pi you recommend, to play most of the emulators, at good fps?
Well that's my mind blown. I just spent £160 on a LarkBox Pro, which utterly amazed me, and this thing isn't far off what it can do at a tiny fraction of the price :O
Hello, friend! Which game controller do you use with Orange Pi Zero 2?
Which psx emulator and conf u use in this video?
Great video. Would you consider doing a linux overview on the device? For instance, how reliable is it for pihole ?
I could do it on my second channel
Pihole can run on a much more affordable board like the original OrangePi Zero. I have it running with Armbian. If you only will run PiHole, you can consider the version with 256MB of RAM. I have a second OrangePi Zero with Transmission & DLNA Server to stream trough wifi to my Smart TV. Due the great results with them I bought a OrangePi Zero2, but Linux images from OrangePi are very old and bad maintained; I’ll try with Android 😉 and wait for Armbian releases for it.
you have the user manual or the datasheet of the Orange pi Zero 2? I buyed it, but dont found any information about the board yet... If you know how I can power on it without a USB type C cable and using a RCA video, I would love for you to tell me
Nice video and fantastic board
what is the game showing at: 5:05?
I have this board. When I side load apps it shows the phone in on, not the TV one like you. How did you get Minecraft to work without google?
Can you review the Orange Pi 5? I've only seen 1 review on RUclips. Not sure why no one is talking about it. Seems pretty decent. I've seen the 8GB model available for $79
You can install Google play on any android device that does not have it installed, you just need the 2 service apk's and Google play store app. As I do this all the time, example Amazon fire tablet .
so what is the clock speed of the processor? and are you sure its 1gb ram? this is amazons spec from your link "*Memory(SDRAM):512MB (Shared with GPU"
you should do a review on the funtastic retroid pockets they look really cool
Looks great for a little budget retro arcade
Do you guys know which O.S. would run the emulators better? Android or RetrorangePi?
Where do you get the Dreamcast emulator for this board?
Hi Taki, I am trying to flash Android 10 to this board, the manual says to use Phoenix Card v4.2.8 but provides no URL and searching for this is impossible, how did you get yours flashed?
excited to see your review on the 8bitdo arcade stick you used in the video.
Since these chips run a little warm, thermal throttling is a standard feature. I suspect it might perform better with a heatsink.
Could you make a video on how to setup C64 emulation on this?
Wow this is seriously impressive for the price.
Mini processors (SBCs?) have come a long way in about a year.
SBC, single board computer.
I followed the instructions on the orange pi website but when I try to write the image to the sd card it says 'looks like this is not a bootable image' how do I get android running on this??
How do you integrate a touchscreen for the DS?
Those single boards getting dirty cheap and really powerful 😅
Nice to see you here I love your channel
Which emulator did u use for Saturn?
Can anyone recommend a case for the Orange Pi Zero 2? Every one I look at seems to have the wrong dimensions.
I can't, but have you tried Radio Shack (or JayCar, depending on which country you're in). If you don't care about looks and just want a case for protection, try the lunchbox / cooking utensils section of the supermarket and look at the plastic containers with lids. You'll need to drill some holes for cables and I/O ports. I'm sure someone makes specific cases for these, but that's the quick way out.
I wonder if this can integrated into the gpi case.
Super cool
I smell a future handheld.
What is better
Orange Pi Zero 2
or
Orange Pi Zero Plus2
Aw man, I just got my RP2 yesterday. Well can't wait for a much better replacement. Help make it happen Taki
I'm trying!
Was there supposed to be text listing specs at 0:30 ? Conspicuously white right hand side is conspicuously white.
This looks like a good sbc..
If they get the 64bit os, I'll definitely look into it. It's a massive savings over the RP4.
I may just get one for giggles and to experiment with a bit. Love the emulation potential of this too.
they wont
orange pi knockoffs are not known for good software support...
half the board count with double the software support would be a deal on orange pi side but noo just sell boards with old linux images and always create new ones :-/
Could one side load Steamlink on this board? I'd be very interested to know
can i add a custom build OS? , planning to use this on business that has a specific application
What about using this for work? Like programming
wow that sbc is pretty powerful. I cant believe how well its playing these games
really good this board is
How yall playing games on this? What controller?
Which genesis game was that? Looks familiar but can’t remember
This does look good, but why can't I find the clock speed anywhere?
Which emulator is used to get golden eye that smooth?
Ok the wife & I wanna thank you for the video. Very good info
This looks great for a retro setup! What are people's favourite old school same screen co-op games? I can think of streets of rage, golden axe, toe jam and Earl, and the Simpsons arcade top of the head 😁
Golden Axe, no question
@@TakiUdon absolutely! Couch co-op is slowly dying out, very sad 😟 Just gotta go back to the classics I guess!
what version of ppsspp are you using?
Is it possible to install google play or open Gapps on this SBC?
The thing is that they don't generate a profit. It says in aliexpress description that for bigger orders please use the other listing, cheaper price only for 1pcs testing
Or something like that
I don't know their business model, but this is competitive at $18.
Very Nice performance on CPU/GPU for retro emulation. I'd totally recommend the 1GB RAM version for just $3 bucks more.
So u need a wired USB controller and a battery + a case for this thing? Does it have the wire for the battery? Thank u
Wired or bluetooth. No battery, you supply power with a usb type c cable.
what was the first psp game that you played?
Gaaaah I just got paid yesterday Taki, why must you tempt me so. Does this bad boy have the circuit for adding a LiPo built in or would I have to add that?
Could just get a 5v Lipo and then USB c it if needed.
That's insanely cheap. I even managed to save an extra $4 on shipping with promo codes on AliExpress. Its barely more expensive than a Raspberry Pi Zero W, yet comes close to Pi 4 performance.
Yup, that’s about as much as GameStop is will to pay for my ps3...
This beats out a Pi3 in it's Geekbench scores... Mental!
Hi anybody know the name of the last Dreamcast game that was tested
