shes so charismatic! i want more videos from this lady!
Still loving the hair Sarah!! And love that you touched on "sort of" following a recipe - too many cooks just too rigid and not experimenting! Love that you embrace doing your own thing even when giving us a "recipe".
I love your recipe since the first time I cooked it. Thanks a lot, Sarah!
Yum! Thank you so much for sharing!
This looks really good, but I think I would like a little fresh basil in the sauce. Baked ziti, a slice of garlic bread and a bottle of wine...oh my goodness. Thanks for sharing Sarah.
that looks delicious!
I made this tonight as Sarah made it and OMG it is SO good!!! I could not stop eating it.
I love how real she is.
Ty love it ! So delicious!
I made this tonight. It’s amazing!!! I used San Marzano tomatoes and it was heavenly!!!
Looks delicious! Love your hair! Happy New Year!
I love Sarah!
Wow, I wish I could zoom through a recipe like Sarah. It goes so smoothly, I just know it’s not quite that easy for me, but still, she does make them streamlined, and for that, I’m grateful!
Made this today so would have leftovers for the upcoming snow. It is delicious! I also followed your recipe for making the sauce. I will make it again that is for sure. Thanks! One of my favorite recipes that I got years ago when the TV show was on is the baked Enchalada's. I do it as a stacked casserole and it is always a hit. I never have enough leftovers when I make it for a crowd.
Looks Delicious...I'm making this for my dinner tonight.I will add ground beef I already have thawing in refrigerator.Love your channel💞😊🏡
You were right about the sauce being absorbed. The more sauce the better. Now I know why my baked pasta dishes came out dry in the past. I am definitely trying this one in the future.👍
I've suddenly just become very hungry! 😍 Great video and very charismatic!
All right, now we all need to know which jarred sauce you like!
Which one does she like?
It's so easy to make homemade sauce that it's not worth it to use a jar. You're sacrificing quality for convenience.
As a mom of 2 toddlers with a 3rd one on the way, I have a feeling the "quality" factor won't be that obvious to my particular audience ;o)
@@Ha7an_House I enjoy doing everything from scratch. I'm probably the abnormal one though to be fair.
Sara Sidd Sara, I am sure you’d prefer to hear Sarah’s favorite, but I wanted to answer bc I have two kiddos myself and I often need to reach for the jar sauce. When I don’t have time to make sauce, I always use Rao’s. The marinara tastes exactly like my homemade version (which is Sarah’s recipe from a different video.) It is on the pricy side but I stock up when there’s a sale.
Wow! Your timing on sharing this recipe is outstanding. This weekend I’m making this dish for my hubby and his coworkers and I needed a refresher. Thank you!
Omg...I'm gonna make my own sauce all the time. This looks delicious!!
That dish is so pretty and looking so delicious and the only thing I would add is ground beef to give it that really home cooked taste, and eat it all in one serving.
Looks delicious & I'm sure we have all of the ingredients in our pantry! I LoL'ed about the pasta water. We have a recipe that calls for us to save some and we forget almost every time.
Some torn basil at the end would make that sauce even more delicious! Great recipe, thank you for sharing.
Ahhh every time Sarah makes something it makes me hungry lol...I also feel like you(Sarah) make alot of vegetarian dishes which is great for me since I am vegetarian! 😁
An easy way I clean my food processor is to just fill it halfway with water and soap, run it for a few seconds and rinse it out!
I'm with you! Although, I go for the canned chopped tomato, since I don't have a food processor. I find just going the canned and adding my own garlic and spices tastes way better. (And just as easy to cook, for me, anyway...)
Gina Pond I love the crushed tomatoes in basil. Prefect base to make your own sauce if you can’t crush your own.
Hi!! Super love your show. Always learning something new... 😘😘😘
and everybody says, thank you Sarah
You can use raw tomatoes if you're cooking them anyways. It'll be much better and everything would be fresh!
Correction: And I just like the way you cook. Voilà! It’s a deal, Sarah.
Done. My garlic flash fried in the oil, oops. The 3min broil at then end almost got me. Baked everything in a deep saute pan and it came out gooey and delicious.
Good recipe...
😊
If we wanted to add protein, like chicken, what stage would you add it at? Looks amazing!
cestbella I would guess when you’re mixing the pasta and sauce unless you cooked the meat in the sauce
Mmmm, sounds so fabulous for this cold and snowy winter day. My husband will again be glad I watch your videos :) But since my husband had to go dairy-free I will be leaving out the mozzarella (I haven't found any dairy-free cheese that is good enough to sub) and substituting the cashew & nutritional yeast combo (vegan parm) for the parmesan cheese. Thanks so much Sarah, I always know he'll be happy with your recipes :)
Love your hair!
More like ole Sara. Love the recipe
can you put in fresh basil instead? I cant stand pepper flakes either.
I'd add some finely chopped onions to the garlic and brown some ground beef in it before adding the tomatoes. I'd substitute ricotta for the cream cheese and I'd add some basil or oregano.
Danny Carrington : and some nice Italian herbs 🌿
$20 says the “canned sauce that she likes” is Rao’s. Any foodie I’ve ever met says that it is their favorite tomato sauce if they have to use canned. P.S. I like Rao’s too!
Matthew Bottcher that’s so true. Mia’s kitchen also makes some pretty good sauces too.
Rao is so worth the money!
4:38, Condolences to that lonely ziti! Always make sure you get everything!
I love fusili! That said, I have an uncle who only likes macaroni. Won't eat any other pasta. Lol.
The recipe looks good but I am not a fan of cream cheese. Can I use ricotta instead? Thanks Sarah
Susan Marino sour cream, or maybe plain yogurt seems plausible
I always use cream cheese too.
Grandma Sue in central Indiana and Izzi Too
Sarah's hair always reminded me of Scarlett Johansson's in Avengers. Now both are blonde. Any coincidende there?
She never has a bad hair day if you never comb your hair
I miss the red hair..
Yummy, good recipe
7:03 one of the privileges of being a chef!!
I like it 😍🤗🤩😘
I am so lazy about washing dishes that I drain out the liquid from the tomato can and then blitz the tomatoes with my immersion blender. When I make pizza sauce, I drain out the liquid from the can, add my garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, chilies and oregano right to the can with the remaining tomatoes and then blitz. The height of laziness! LOL P.S. I am bringing this Ziti recipe to my next potluck!!
Sarah, would it be a serious transgression if I did not broil it at the end? I don't trust my broiler. I live in a rented apartment, and the appliances are not what I would have chosen. Such is life!🍝
As soon as I am able to eat tomatoes again, I am definitely going to try this! Good stuff!
Bravo pasta, bravo 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Could I use an immersion blender instead of a food processor ? Sounds delicious
she did say she uses a stick (immersion) blender at home because she doesn't like cleaning a food processor.
If you don't have a food processor, can you just crush the whole peeled tomatoes by hand?
**Fusilli has left the chat**
I wonder if there could be a one pot version of this where you cook the pasta in the sauce?
I can’t stand fusili too hehe
Measured Ingredients? Chef John scoffs
There is a link to the recipe in the description. You should know this if you are a Chef John fan.
How many regular tomatoes?
“Cream Cheese”, really? I make my sauce the same way except I use Mascarpone Cheese. But I trust you Sarah, I’ll try the Cream Cheese. 😉
How do you maintain your weight with all that cheese ? I love cheese but I was told to avoid it as I would put on weight.
Wait, when did she turn Blonde?
she's been blonde for a while now
I wonder if she's heading to natural gray. Her hair in the back looks gray, and lots of people are doing it!
I like it on her.
She looks like the mom from Lizzie McGuire
Looks yummy, I'm sure it's wonderful. I miss her orange hair... :(
Why cream cheese, use ricotta soooo much creamer
Also 4oz is not enough soft cheese for that much pasta
But use a little less mozzarella
Also mix the shredded cheese through out not in layers it’s not a lasagna
I'm struggling to find ricotta here though, is there anything that can substitute ricotta other than cream cheese?
HELP!! How do you teach someone how to cook who is use to eating out? I've tired. Anyone??? TKS.
Why not ricotta rather than cream cheese?
Exactly what I was thinking! Whole milk only though for me, but skim milk would work too.
I suppose it's more widely available in the US...
because she wanted to ruin it
@@shmoolicious you cab get ricotta anywhere in the US
As so as she added cream cheese I turned it off,No kind of seasoning to the sauce only garlic LOLOLOL
She added salt at 2:58.
Dat cheese tho 😍
I actually prefer fusili over ziti. 🙄
Poor man's, baked ziti.
No No. Cream cheese, no. Ricotta, yes.
Crusty Marine : sounds good 👍
If you have a family that doesn’t like spice, you can leave out the family ✔🌶 🚫👨👩👧👦
sarah, you are tons better than martha Stewart, love your natural style , no Botox!
I hate penne. I ALWAYS burn my mouth on them :D
Also Sarah is my faaaavourite food youtube host
Now way is that 3 cloves garlic ....
Substitute mascarpone cheese for cream cheese it sounds better
I made this last night! I have to say the sauce was bland no flavor whatsoever. Next time dropping the cream cheese which felt wrong to ricotta. You need way more than garlic and olive oil to make a sauce lol don’t be fooled people. Even the jarred stuff is better than tomatoes and garlic heated up.
Had to do double take on that title I though it said Creamy Baked zit at first.
Why don’t you toss the pasta in the sauce pan? You toss it in the pan where you cooked the pasta, it’s quite stupid because then you have to clean another dish.
+Kai Chen 🤔 Well...you're going to wash the pot after cooking pasta anyway to remove all the starch so you're adding nothing to the clean up. Also and more importantly, notice that she topped the coated pasted with the remaining sauce. That's intentional and necessary. Otherwise you'll end up with a crispy top layer.
but that pot she cooked pasta in is going to get washed, too anyway... if she tossed pasta into the saucepan, she wouldn't have been able to save enough to top the dish with unless she separated enough into another bowl which would actually be another dish to clean.
Tosh T yes but the sauce is definitely harder to clean than the starchy pot where the pasta was boiled in. Anyway, I think it’s just an unnecessary extra step. You also waste a lot of the sauce by adding it in another pot cause you obviously can’t get everything out of it.
I was going to write about this snobbish haircut of yours.
Enough is enough. You choose to look old for fashion’s sake.
And just like the way you cook. Voilà! It’s a deal, Sarah.
homeland = uses canned tomatoes
