something good to highlight on the subject of slide is the directional control - you can actually cut really tight corners with slides, and using it to break LOS during escapes has saved me most of the time. Also, charged melee has some underappreciated movement jank too. You can basically go whichever direction you want during the lunge. good for baiting parries by turning away at the last second, or rounding corners super quickly
I play every bruiser the same, wep damage life steal with the melee range that reloads ur gun on hit. Get close, dump my clip, melee, repeat. If they are squishy you can just 2 tap melee a lot of times lol.
@degeneratelowlife3171 yeah it's a risky move though if you do it too early, it's pretty easy to flick away at the last second to avoid hitting the parry

With all of this you opened a whole other dimension in this game...
Icefrog developed Dota 2 - He is now primarily/only working on Deadshot. So I expect he will also get Deadlock to be one of the most indepth Mobas on the market.
as someone who has 12k hours in dota 2, this game is basically dota 2 but in shooter style with a little tweak. ur guide is the most spot on I've watched so far.
Battleborn really was ahead of it's time. If the devs weren't so cocky as to think it could possibly compete with OW's release, maybe we'd be calling this a "battleborn clone"
Hey everyone. For the console commands for private testing to work propely, you must include -dev and -console in the steam launch settings. Right click Deadlock on steam, then go to properties and then put this in: gyazo.com/1663921aadb604657ddc3ae2adcfd16b I forgot to add this to the video. Apologies.
@@Th3Extra No. You can never play this game now. You've been selected as the odd one out. Unfortunately there is only one remedy for this, to donate 2000000000 million dollah to your local bank cartel.
This guide straight up made the game crazier and made me generally better overall. I went 42/4 with Abrams bc of good movement and being hella aggressive thank you Marco. So happy you’re doing informational content like the old Division days 🙏
I'm actually a LOT more interested in the game now after seeing what you can really do with the movement! TYSM Marco for always making quality vids, no matter what game you're on~
I've watched a number of guides on movement already, but I've never seen anyone mention the double-crouch to drop down in the air faster. Super good guide, I'm eager to see more from you.
I subscribed. Best of luck on your transition to Deadlock content. I think its a great idea. You're early, you're knowledgeable. Try to get into the pro scene too. I would love to see analysis and casted high level matches. You are already making the best tutorials.
Oh my. That Slide hopping is just crazy. And also spamming the slide at the stairs while shooting Guardian is really great way to extend your mag. Thanks for the awesome video!
As someone who hasnt played yet, only watched people play, everything you've said is easy to understand (and makes me want to play more) so great job at making this very easy to understand AND very educational
This was awesome. Clear, organized, concise, informative, and dense. You didnt waste any of my time at all, rare for youtube these days. Thanks, I know how much hard work something like this is.

This video is awesome, and you just earned yourself a new sub! I was just thinking a day ago about seeing if any movement guides existed for Deadlock because there is so much more then meets the eye in-game and found your wonderful channel because of it. Thanks again m8!
Good on you for being on time with this. After the beginners video I was looking forward to what you had to offer on this topic which is very dear to me as an Apex player. Figured I'd have to wait at least a week or two but you cranked it out and delivered some great information. Thanks.
i'm really excited to see more well edited guides like this. i really really like deadlocked but like dota, it is a game that you can a lifetime learning, so we're lucky to have video guides like this.
Keep making deadlock videos and I will keep watching your channel. I think this game is the chance for you to rise on RUclips, and I will be with you on this climb ❤
Great videos, I have personally been having issues with late game scaling and what to build for who. Came across your beginner guide and now this movement guide and I'm starting to see how nuanced this game gets. Looking forward to more content!
you can preserve a lot of your momentum by bhopping at the proper timing when you hit the ground. So for instance, when you land going really fast after falling off the zipline, you can hop 2-3 more times and go much further. Same with air dashing, you can get a couple fast hops off before your momentum is killed. I feel like this could be used at the tail end of some of these combos you showed to get even more distance
Great guide! I'm a ~5,000 hours Dota player and I got very interested in this game. Watching guides before jumping in. I always did like learning about the game more than actually playing it....
i will be coming back to this video a lot because it will take me some time to get used to all those tricks but thanks for giving us the know how. I did not know you before I learned about this game, but best of luck in your youtubing. Would love to see some of your play footage sometime so i could see some of these tricks in action of real game xD
I hesitated to try DL JUST BECAUsE everyone I saw playing it was moving at slug-speed, not to mention the overwhelming amount of mechanics and skills- This video reignited the want-to-play for me.
Honestly, after my first match of Deadlock I thought the game feels terrible to play. After playing more matches and getting used to some heroes it gets so much better and like many times before it was just a skill issue from my side
In 3 or 4 years, players will look back on this guide and think it's crazy that we didn't know about all of the things to come in time with this game. Can't wait.
Well this explains why I've been having so much trouble getting places quickly or finding myself with no stamina! Wish I'd found this sooner haha. Great video!
The fluid movement advantage is a pinch of counter-strike that makes FPS way more enjoyable. Something I missed a lot on valorant which has a way more robotic feel to it. As a newba moba player and cracked fps player, this is a new world to me. Thanks for the guide!
I just started Deadlock yesterday, im an ex dota player, not a good shooting player, and this guide is very good, explaining how those melee heroes can get to me so fast, but it fries my brain out!! My God, how should i practice this, too much too handle, overwhelmed lol
thank you for this video. ive spent a lot of time getting better at movement in cs and tf2, and im glad to see that deadlock rewards good movement too. it's satisfying to execute and impressive to watch
As a lash main, the air friction cancel from the zipline is VERY useful and common use since you can instantly engage from a speed boost from practically behind their backline
Something I didn’t see mentioned: this game has air strafing, like other source engine games. So if you let go of W and hold A/D while turning your mouse in the same direction as you strafe, you can make turns mid air you couldn’t otherwise without killing your momentum. This is nice for dash jumping around corners particularly if you are bunnyhopping. Another tip is that slide gives you a ton of directional control. You can use this to make sharp turns around corners and such. Combining a bhop airstrafe into a slide turn is really good for cutting corners quickly. Love the movement in this game, feels so good once you get good with it. Great videos!
I've found the airstrafing in this game to be extremely weak compared to games like cs. I'm aware there is a bit but I'm not sure I've even used it once during gameplay to get a noticable effect. Maybe if you do it off the ziplines with the reduced air friction but otherwise I'm not sure...
@@MarcoStyle Yeah, definitely much weaker. I find it most noticeable when bunnyhopping, so if you do a dash into bhop you can use it to turn and take corners with good speed. It isn't really noticeable outside of that tho, I agree.
1 thing that really helped me with dash jumping was rather than watching for the blue stamina bar, I watch the actual animation of the dash on character. When your characters feet first touch the ground again at the end of the dash is when you jump. I find tracking the entire duration of the animation is a lot easier than waiting for a flash of the UI to pop up.
only two days later and they've already done their best to make your guide incomplete by adding wall jumping lol
