Deadlock Advanced Wall Jump Movement Guide - in this movement guide, we cover how to master walljumps and how to implement it into your Deadlock gameplay.
Game's still fresh, many things are still left to discover. It's just a matter of time until the next Faide or taxi2g will do his/her thing in Deadlock.
i love how the speed of this game’s movement fluidly goes from the speed and precision of valorant but then can go to the more high speed advanced movement like apex’s oh Deadlock my new addiction 😅
I watched this video so many times, sometimes in slow motion, and I still had a hard time replicating the wall jump. What worked for me is this: After pressing "W" and your jump key , as you get close to the wall, do not press both S and "Space" once you are about to hit the wall, just press "S" then "Space" in a very rapid succession.
10x more interested in the game after this video than before. I still don't want to grind through hour-long matches, but the game is definitely more interesting knowing it has this kind of movement. I wish more MOBA games would have shorter matches like Heroes of the Storm did.
Games don't usually last that long ever, most are 15 to 30mins. Longest game I've ever had has been 40+ min games which are a dime a dozen. I've played 100 hours already for reference.
@@yahootube90 Games can be closed out much faster than 30minutes, but you need cooperation to do so. the mmr in effect along with learning the game might help with that, but you know that's not very guaranteed. Will be cool to see if they develop another game mode in the future for quick funsies like they have with other games like CS2.
Usually games become longer as people learn to play because snowballing becomes less effective and people learn how to come back from a deficit@@e3.14c4
I've played the game for 60 hours & my only hour long match has been in a private lobby against bots. Longest game against players was 43 minutes & that's because no one committed. Most games take 23-35 minutes. With that said, I know what you mean about HotS :')
People say this game is a MOBA + Hero Shooter but I feel it has enough complexity of movement to be called a MOBA + Hero Shooter + 3D Platformer/Parkour game. Ziplines, Jumps, Dashes, Double Jumps, Air Dashes, Slides, Wall Jumps and then all of their combinations. Plus items like flying carpet and heroes with their own special movements like Pocket's flying cloak, Kelvin's Ice Path, Vindicta's flight, and so many more. The amount of movement (especially vertical movement) is going to be great to see especially when pros use it to chase/juke.
Imo this game really doesn't resemble hero shooters enough to be a hero shooter. The only thing that makes it moba+hero shooter is the fact that you shoot. Otherwise all other mechanics are essentially just moba mechanics.
1:00 As of build 5157 this isn't fully accurate (not sure about previous builds). You can press any key that is at an angle more than 90° to the wall. I.E if you walk directly towards a wall. You can press any direction except your "Move Forwards" key and you will wall jump.
"press the direction key that is the opposite of how you are traveling" is this basically saying "press the direction you want to travel off of the wall" or does it HAVE to be in opposition to how you approached the wall?
I'm really torn on wall jumping. It's cool, but the map wasn't designed with it in mind and usually if you can wall jump to something there was an easier no-cost way to do it. I wish that you didn't need to jump away from the wall but that's probably very intentional. Can't even use it to retain speed since you always get sent just about perpendicular to the wall.
@@hioxdyeah that and just because something isn't largely useful doesn't mean it's a problem. Games that go high level often thrive off of nuance. Something like particular late game decisions in dota when you get insane jungle items can lead total breakthroughs
Considering how many map redesigns dota has gotten (and considering much of the map is clearly work in progress) the map will absolutely be updated with wall jumps in mind from a fundamental level over time.
Cool guide, this is a huge addition to deadlock, movement is always cool and players want it. I think deadlock would have been cooler if it was an fps and not a third person view.
@@aphrodaideflashy movement i cant wait for backwards drifting. I can see it being useful in gunfights essentially you do a standing dash in to a backward slide and use ur keys to drift it
wall jumps are literally useless. Anyone knows this who is above average on deadlock. They need to buff them - I don't understand why you're lying so much that they're so important and 'completely change the game'
If you have an alt steam account it gets the game wayyyy faster my main still waiting for it a week later if you down bad to get the game make a new acc get a $5 game not 4.99 and add someone to inv u to the game you should get it within a day 2 days max
The pro level tourneys for this game are going to be fire
Not enough people are talking about the movement in this game thank you for making this video
It's all people are talking about wym

The movement tech in game is crazy!! Once you start combining jumps with slides and some movement speed items this game goes crazy

"A lot of character abilities actually pair with wall jumps too"
Doesn't show Viscous.

viscous wall jump to puddle punch can send him basically across the entire training range, like from gaurdian to gaurdian

@@riotfist9747 Thanks for the review. If most games are under 30 minutes then it's not too bad.

you can jump on top of the hidden shop by wall jumping backwards from it and double jumping straight into the hatch
thank u i wanted to use lash on mid object to go up but i had no idea how ahahha this helped me a lot ty
Sliding can be done everywhere, it just costs stamina.
But this is good to know, I didn't realize wall jumping was in the game.
Amazing video! I have a feeling some one is gonna discover crouch wall jumps and be able to bounce off of even smaller objects
Because lach E resets your movement, you can wall jump even after starting the combo with a wall jump as long as you E in between
Imagine you can strafe hard in this game. movement would be crazy
I've already submit feedback to valve to insert air strafe into the game. If more testers willing to do the same we might get it soon ;)
You can infinite slide with shiv by jumping holding CTRL and using his rightclick to boost you backwards.
A way to bind double jump would be great, balance can keep it from happening tho.
"press the direction key that is the opposite of how you are traveling" is this basically saying "press the direction you want to travel off of the wall" or does it HAVE to be in opposition to how you approached the wall?
press the key on the side you are leaving the wall
gunz ? dota 2 ? overwatch ? is this game complicated ? yes . will it be fire on the top level ? yes
Great guide mate

how do you play alone in the map and learn this stuff?
This is so cool

Cool Guide bro
Reminds me of bloodhunt battle royale movement, only missing wall climbing
"we have titanfall 3 at home!"
the titanfall 3:
Except it's actually better
except its way better and made bt a better company and have a non toxic community who would bring titanfall into every conversation

Hi
Here we go again playing a new game with the apex mindset …..
From a guy who had 1k+ hrs in apex, it's really not that crazy, imo it's a nice addition to the movement system!
What is the "apex mindset"?

A wall jump resets your jump and dash, you must get ganked alot keke
Do you have a discord?
as an apex movement player i really want to try this game after watching this vid but i dont have the access key🥲
