Not as much in solo queue though. Midboss is impossible to take if you don't have allies helping you secure it, which is hard to control. There are far more free kills in solo queue because worse players will make more mistakes, so you can fight more often if you know what to look out for.
I think for point #1 it's more nuanced: "Don't push enemy base without midboss's rejuvinator buff" is probably more accurate. But, "Do midboss way more often" is something that pro teams can get away with because they are coordinated and can react in unison to switch off the boss and into fighting the enemies if they show up to contest -- but in your solo games, especially at lower ranks - starting midboss and dragging your team there is throwing more often than not. It's so so much easier for the enemies to contest in unison than it is for you to get your 5 other teammates to switch off the boss and into fighting all at once. Unfortunately, being able to get everyone to stop hitting midboss at a moment's notice is a key part of why it works at the highest levels, and that part is missing for most other ranks. At most levels, it should only be done when you have a solid advantage, like: Do mid boss when you have multiple enemies dead, including the enemy with the most souls, (and /actually/ dead for a long enough time that they won't make it there with zipline speedboost after respawn, like 20-30 seconds minimum) TLDR: "Do you actually trust your 5 random teammates to have pro-tier decision making and reaction speeds when the enemies contest mid boss?" (And yes: enemies won't have that either - but they don't need it, poking people off of midboss is much easier to do safely/together for the second team that's responding)
Keep in mind that melee can't headshot, so it's not always as clear as "my melee dps is higher so I just need to keep punching." For midboss and shrines and such that makes sense, though
It's so weird to see a game heaving it's first pro tournament while it's not even officially released... and then we look at concord and how that went down :D

I think he's going to become the wisp of this game, as it feel like no matter how much you nerf him he'll still be S tier just due to the design of his kit.
@@im50yearsold I think they are more likely going to nerf his ult. I.E. maybe change it so that you can break the bubble and maybe even nerf the hp regen inside it if that is not enough. The duration of the ice bridge might also be lessened as well.
@@im50yearsold They should make his ult only solid for like the first half second and then mitigate (melt) it slow over the remaining time. Allowing bullets and spells to go through it at mitigated damage.
On the point of the Magic Carpet, I actually have found it useful if you are planning on split pushing a lot during the match since you can combo it with Majestic Leap. If you activate them both at the exact same time then the carpet charges up at the peak of the leap so it works similar to an Ivy ult for rotating back to your team.
It's especially useful on low mobility characters like Paradox, whether after a swap or being rushed down, a well-timed majestic leap combined with the carpet makes for a super mobile karbine shot.
2:03 the heavy melee damage vs DPS comparison is even more skewed in favour of the melee than shown by the numbers. Reloading in Deadlock is quite long on most heroes, so the effective DPS of your weapon is even lower than the displayed DPS. Hence the 1 heavy melee per second is incredibly good for pushing lanes and midboss. For pushing lane, it even scales late game as you can often punch multiple troopers in a single attack, whereas your weapon will hit only 1 trooper at a time even if the DPS is higher.
Cool video. Seems like it would be obvious that pushing lanes and objectives is important. Im curious how pros feel about asymmetric team comps when heroes like Kelvin offer so much. He had 100% pick or ban rate, how often did he win when played?

Hey, I figured out the melee meta, the OP heroes, and the general 'push as main priority' mindset almost as fast as the pros did. Just from playing a bit. I feel smrt.
Now if only I wasn't terrible at the game.
Most players probably have. They have tons of melee heavy builds for certain heroes. Like lash or Abrams.
@@xirogs I don't mean melee builds. I mean that in the early game, melee is better for CS in lane and jungle for all (or most?) heroes. Even those who are not using melee builds. Most of my lane CS is melee and I (mostly) save my bullets for poking/denying. It just gives me a massive CS lead over those who don't. Because I deny them and they can't deny me very much.
Just need to be mindful of enemy poke. As the counterplay is to poke the player hard when they go for melee cs.
Game is too passive. Need balancing to make fights more often
Pros? The game is in the damn invite beta.....
bro if only i had good pc
i cant destroy lobbies because of my potato pc
gd reference
Watching this on anything slower than 1.5x is outright torture.
I'm still not used to crouching and parrying but man is this game a lot of fun.
edit: I didn't know you can slide.
Sliding is much more important than crouching and parrying
Pro team already? Ah another game killed my interest....
Every competitive game will have pros... stop being such a sook.
