Top tier movement guide. I've seen a few movement guides and they spend 10 minutes explaining what a dash is or a dash-jump. This is some tech I have never seen in my games. OFF TO THE SANDBOX
@@cycy8699 Yes, but a "pro movement guide" shouldn't spend 10 minutes explaining the basic controls...... Furthermore, all basic controls are covered in the tutorial.... Waste sludge guides are a huge problem on youtube.
Something you may have missed, or maybe you intentionally left it out because it's basic, but at 8:56 to get into the building beside the walker, Wraith does a DASH-DOWN to get down into the door. Double tapping crouch while in the air will shoot your character straight down which is good for avoiding bullets so you're not falling in a slow, predictable arc downward, and as we saw in the video can avoid ceilings etc. Great video Schizug! Exactly the video I needed. It's been bugging me how I can't maintain speed off a zip line. I was pressing jump instead of crouch. It is such a good feeling to watch these guides and say "Okay so that thing I did one time was actually tech" I was brainstorming the wall jump crouch off lines to traverse lanes faster because it felt so slow to just slide there after frictionless dropping. Thanks Schizug and also thanks for reminding me to subscribe, I've gone to your channel a lot to teach friends and you're always in my recommended so didn't even notice I wasn't subbed already.
What I found is that you can't do bunny hopping off of the 1-stam dash-slide. You can only do it with the 2-stam dash-jump, in case if that's what you've been doing.
kind of included when you mentioned carrying momentum, but if you wall jump while falling from height you can get a lot of vertical speed/distance allowing you to get places that otherwise would require stamina
That advanced tech that got the wraith into the slot machine room is definitely what I been trying to practice. I notice all the pro level players utilizing it. I didn’t realize how much wall jumping helps
I’ve been doing a lot of this for a while, it’s nice to have it all in one place to teach my friends! Next layer is Viscous puddle punch rocket jumps added in 😉
In middle lanes you can wall jump onto bridge without needing to heavy melee (on the bird statue). You can also wall jump off the corner to get up without melee on both sides. I learnt this while practicing this tech!
The sheer amount of input you do on the keyboard between movement, abilities and items is quite overwhelming. Playing Invoker in dota is pretty chill in comparison. I'm building up my muscle memory one layer at a time, have barely even touched the crouch button
worth noting that side dashes eem to have more reach and speed that forward ones so it can be beneficial to turn ninety degrees while moving around at certain points

another thing to mention is that air strafing exists in deadlock, like in other source game. it's much weaker compared to tf2 or cs2 but it does allow you to correct your air momentum slightly
I mean, air strafing exist in most games, but the "strafe bug" exist in deadlock, however this game has air friction so it's very very weak. Specifically, the strafe bug is caused by the game enforcing a speed cap by only checking the speed you are going in the direction of acceleration

Another awesome vid Schizug! I’ve learned so much from your channel already. Was interested for an idea for a future video, maybe a guide for the console commands and how you can use them to supplement learning/training? I know some commands, but a lot of creators use the commands to demonstrate stuff. Would be interesting to hear your perspective on ways to utilize them to supplement learning!
For the secret shop jump, you can use it off 3 different walls. But with the method you showed, you dont actually need a heavy melee, just walljumping lookup and then repress space to mount.
i hit the walljump off of secret shop in a game the other day (shoutouts to eskay) but i was still using a double jump to make it through. gonna have to practice the charge melee shenanigans, good stuff again
Something i see go very underutilized is double tapping crouch to immediately go to the ground. Ive seen a good few people die because they are stuck in air the after something like a viscous or bebop punch.
The shop wall jump can actually be done without a charged melee attack, and also when approaching it the left or right sides of your body. It just requires angling the camera to grab the ledge afterwards.
gotta abuse the zipline to wall jump more. i have only recently used basic wall jump tech. your wraith example was SMOOTH af, and opened up my mind to exploring more wall jump techs around the map. I'd like to share one wall jump thats i use commonly aside from the secret shop one. around the urn, below the powerup bridge, you can wall jump into double jump into mantle to basically climb it up. very easy jukes from there if the enemy doesn't abuse basic wall jump.
Sliding is super fun. I'm not much of an adrenaline junkie but I'll make sure to try to spend my stamina more efficiently from here on out. Jumping forward twice with lady geist has NOT gotten my ass out of trouble very often...
hey, this might be a bit late but you should learn melee canceling. it works with certain character and item abilities (the ones that aren't grayed out during heavy punches). if you jump, heavy melee and right before the punch connects use an ability like fleet foot, you can actually preserve some energy into a slide.
little fact : for the walljump in the mid shops, you can use the shop for it but also nearly every wall around, as long as you time your heavy good and you are aiming the ceiling (and for the walljump on the shop in the sapphire side you don't even need to heavy if done perfectly >w< )
