@dustymetso even just for improving your own game not enough people can drop the ego to look at the replays at where they failed and where the enemy bested them, they would rather play 10 hours of losses than take the 40 minutes to review footage and improve
That's amazing that you guys took up a stacked coordinated team with high mechanical skills while Moe & Krill never even used his mic. Peak teamplay & game sense.
Fantastic educational content. It really sounds like you've been making this kind of content for other games for a while already but you only have these four videos on your channel so far.
great vid! since you asked for topic ideas: I'm struggling to grow past copying build guides and would love a vid on general item build principles. stuff like when to buy several low tier vs. one high tier item, when to prioritize damage vs. defense, how to identify core stats for your hero. more replay analysis videos would be great too!
speaking as a league player items usually go with the following mentality when ahead buy defensive since u will always have dmg when behind buy dmg to supplement the deficit when super behind buy utility or defensive so ur not useless
idk i think the towers need more HP, the minions way less damge to them (early at least) , and maybe abilities should only do like 40% damage. Dota's stronger towers let you play around wave control a lot better, you try and burn a wave into your tower and lose 1/4 the tower while also being pressured heavy in deadlock, its fine if they want a faster paced game, but the other team can also burst your towers while behind faster than you can hope to react to it. i think the mid game for this game is way to fast, most of my games devolve into both teams have no towers left
@@HerbaceousM8I agree on most points but the towers are pretty close in strength imo Overall at least, Deadlock are easier to burst but they do more damage
@HerbaceousM8 I find it interesting that many of my DL games, my team will take an early guardian and walker lead, then in a messy mid game someone on the enemy team will sneak around and finally catch up by soloing buildings faster than anyone can react (to your point)... In the early game the buildings live longer because player damage is quite low, respawns are fast and people usually zipline or jungle path their way to defense... but by mid game you can take down a tower or walker with a couple magazines... there's no time to react. It seems to me that the best thing to do is ignore most objectives and try to defend or attack key objectives as a team. 🤷♂️
Super insightful video mate. Im coming from CS, so these MOBA elements sometimes are very counterintuitive for me, but seeing a few of your videos I can already see my decision making improve a lot, and my deaths decreasing. Wish you success
Love this. Can tell you're a Dota enjoyer too. Great hearing this game explained in terms I am familiar with, and you have a good voice and cadence for this. Thanks so much man!
Great vid. With Deadlock drawing in a lot of FPS gamers with little to no MOBA experience giving a primer on basic MOBA stuff is bound to be super useful to a lot of people
keep up the great videos theyre so helpful and well made! looking forward to playing this game for a while and continuing to watch your content along the way!
Bro has less than 1K subs? That’s wild, this is very high quality stuff Deadlock could be one of the biggest FPS games in the not so distant future - keep grinding out more content like this and your channel should do very well
When I first got into Deadlock it would annoy me on how often a game snowballed from early on momentum. The last week or so, I've gotten into some CRAZY clutch games where we turn around a 20k soul deficit to 20k past the enemy team purely on good midgame strategy. There are hiccups here and there that I'm not the biggest fan of with this game, but overall I am absolutely loving the time I spend with it. Good breakdown, my friend! I'll be using points from this to help coach my buddies getting into Deadlock for sure.
very good. too many content creators get stuck in the details. but it really is a game where you have to raise your focus to something more than just your hero, reading the map, reading the situations, looking for what your enemy and team intend to do.
Loved these videos so far, hope you keep making them. Definitely earned my sub I was thinking it might be a really helpful video if you compared a replay of really good player and maybe someone decent/ok on the same hero to help illustrate decision making choices in different game states and bad habits that middle tier players can look to try and eliminate from their gameplay and good habits to add.
great video. I'm loving the game and really hope to get better and your vids are definitely helping me flesh out what I should be doing during a match. keep it up. I second the suggestion for general itemization, it's definitely something i'm struggling most with (i come from league so building items is way different)
Really highlights the importance of teamfighting, objectives, and playing around timings MOBA element, compared to pure technical button pressing and shooting stuff
Greatly appreciated! As others said, a video about the shop and how to handle items would be great. I have played DotA 2 for over 1200 hrs and still sometimes feel I don't use the items and shop the best way possible.
The most important part of communication, is interpretation! Mo and Krill didn't talk, but everyon was on the same page about using his ult to take out their carry. That's teamwork.
small recommendation, I think you can really add some value by just throwing up the stat block of an ability when you mention it ( I.E throwing up dynamo's ult ability stat card when you mentioned it), it can help players both know what you're talking about and maybe get more ideas if theyre seeing the stat card for the ability for the first time. fantastic video cant wait to see you grow man
really awesome video, this gives me new perspectives on deadlock matches on multiple fronts. I often felt a little directionless during mid game and like I wasn't sure how to make macro calls myself instead of just following where my team was fighting. I think that the ideas from this vid will help me a lot there :) If you are looking for future topics, I'd love to get better at reading my teammates, reading fights, and scouting. my worst games tend to involve me not knowing where anything is happening, commiting right as my team leaves, and always trying to catch up/react to what's happening in game. This video helped with these issues, but id love to hear you say more on this specifically. again, great video, I've loved them all so far and I'm really looking forward to more! Even breaking down more high-level matches in these terms, just talking about the same things as you did in this video, would be really fun to watch for me.
It sounds like you might not be looking at the map enough. I quite literally stare at the map if something isn't immediately needing my attention on my screen. I could def talk more about map movements and how I stay aware of my surroundings.
@@Schizug That sounds right, looking at the map enough is definitely something I'm trying to get better at. and yeah, id love a vid getting into this topics more :) :)
7:30 this specific moment is *so* huge for y’all. Staggered deaths is definitely one of the top ways people throw games, and they’re usually caused by one fed player getting overconfident and thinking they can 1v6, when in reality, it’s better to play around your teammates. Even if you think your teammates are the worst players in existence, chances are they can at least provide distractions and extra HP bars for your enemies to hit, thus making it easier for you to win the fight. By pointlessly sacrificing his life for a low chance at getting rejuv, Infernus made it so his teammates are almost guaranteed to lose fights for the next minute or so. At this point, you also gotta weigh the benefit of even managing to steal it. Is it worth losing the next two or three fights for a small chance at getting rejuv? What would rejuv even do for you at this point? It would’ve been smarter to give it up, do a different objective, and turtle until rejuv is over. But instead, what would’ve been a bad situation was just made worse by Infernus’s poor macro decision. Of course, no one makes perfect plays all the time, that’s impossible. But it’s important to recognize that if you want to get good at deadlock, your macro skills need to catch up to or even surpass your gunplay.
Definitely more stuff about playing from behind! That's a huge pain point in MOBA player bases: the willingness to forfeit at the slightest hint of a deficit stops players from actually learning how to play from behind, which feeds even deeper into the mentality. Let's close that knowledge gap early!
I really enjoyed this breakdown. Something i would suggest if you are not sure what content to do, is allow people who are genuinely concerned why they lost (or won?) to submit a replay to you so that you review it and give feedback of misplays or things that could have been done better. Especially at the mid to low range where i feel a lot of people are at. Just my recommendation.
Great content. Do you think you could make a video on how to create a build? Maybe with some commentary in match as to why those decisions were made? I know builds aren't set in stone but it's tough to create a build as a new player without any context.
I have a bit of feed back on the segment at 4:30 where you talk about taking into account who is strong on each team. You use K/D as the main measure of seeing who is strong, when I think that simply looking at the soul count is more effective. The McGinnis on your team has 20k souls compared to Mo and Krill's 17k, despite Mo and Krill having more kills. Souls in this game aren't just money, they also go toward levelling your character which when paired with the fact that you use souls to buy items, means that souls are the biggest factor when considering the strength of a character. Great video by the way.
If you get the chance, I’d love a video on some Paradox builds. She feels like she needs to work way harder to get the same value as other heroes, between having the worst gun in the game for farming to her reliance on spirit damage while having abilities that don’t scale with spirit, her ult putting her in bad positions with no escape- her kit feels so cool but so hard to get value out of. I’ve tried skirmishing with stuff like extra charges on her wall and superior stamina and mystic shot/tesla and they can be fun but it still feels like I suffer in direct confrontations.
Kinda don't like that one of the flex slots was moved from all-walkers to all-outer-guardians, because it does make "keep our walkers alive" at least a bit less of an impactful goal once the first has fallen now.
I really need to learn how to transition my early game advantage into mid/late. Usually we dominate lane and get 8k souls but falls off around 20mins thru the late game.
Does the final objective have varied health based on the amount of other objectives remaining on the map? So its weakest when everything else is down and strongest when you've walked in only one lane
This game looks so awesome! Really want to try this game out. Any advice on how someone gets an invite to play if they don't have any streamer friends or a network to reach out to?
good video! this seems more applicable to high mmr than anything else as you need a lot of coordination. if youre that infernus, should you make it a goal to be present for as many teamfights as possible?

I think the Infernus split pushing wasn't bad, his walker kill reclaimed some AP for his team. I think the team shouldn't have been playing so forward and grouped vs Dynamo. We had really excellent team fight and they probably could have split up more.
I hope they seperate 2+ stacks from solo queue soon. It really kills my enjoyment when I have to play out a 15m+ loss because one lane lost so hard that they have a 2k+ gold lead before I have have 4k gold lmfao
They drop permanent mini buffs to your stats and they just got updated to do so more often, so yes, it’s very lucrative to do so. I would definitely be doing it whenever you see them and have the opportunity to.

How does this make any sense? He's doing a detailed, live transcription of a fast-paced video game. He would have to slow down the footage based on your feedback. That would trash viewing experience.
Glad you renamed the video, because as someone who doesn't know who Shroud is, this has been in my recommended videos for weeks and I just never cared.
I really love the approach to analyzing your own replays rather than using live commentary, not enough people do this

Nice, great for learning. Felt like you wasted no words and really taught everyone what you should be prioritizing.
Shroud takes super L to epic schizug and gang
At which time is the part where Shroud says that (at intro)
This is legit the most I ever learned in a Deadlock video. Goat content!

Na`Vi Deadlock when? 👀
keep up the great videos theyre so helpful and well made! looking forward to playing this game for a while and continuing to watch your content along the way!
Thanks for all the guides you posted, good that you can do them fully publicly now. Looking forward to anything else you've got in store.
Thank you for this - I'm a newbie to Deadlock and MOBAs in general, and this was very helpful to understand the flow.

Keep making these don’t stop! You have talent
