This is why Christians need to study the Holy Bible for themselves and use discernment when choosing to listen to a pastor or attend a church. Everyone that says the Name of the Lord isn't truly serving Him!

Yep,my father told his little sisters never be alone in the room with any man even a preacher. They were horrified because they attended a big church with a charismatic pastor. Dad's favorite movie was Elmer Gantry. Years later our pastor ran off with the Deacon's wife leaving two stunned and heartbroken spouses and crying children and a very shocked and confused church.

My uncle was absolutely devastated when he found out that my aunt had been involved (and was pregnant but lost the child ) with the pastor of our church we had been attending for generations. They eventually moved away to California where she had another adulterous affair and he shot and killed her but what made it even MORE tragic he killed his children too. I had another cousin living with them bcz she was attending UCLA to be a lawyer and he killed her too. All their bodies were😭😭😭 brought back to our small home town. I attended 3 funerals in one day. That incident DEVASTATED my whole family. It happened back in 1978, and we are all grown and have our own families ( most of us are in our 60’s now) …..nothing was NEVER THE SAME. He is still in prison serving triple life. There have been so many pastors, ministers and church leaders that will have to give an account to GOD for sinful acts.
I love this scripture. It can be applied to so many things. I even used it when I was in college. I always kept in the back of my mind, even if what I’m learning in school goes against the word of God, let God be true and every man a liar.
False prophets especially in the Christian community. Pastors that drive around in BMWs and fly around in private jets asking for tithe from members who are living paycheck to paycheck. I'd rather be a heathen than a hypocrite.
don't conflate wealth with sin. Not all pastors who have money are damnable. Some pastors fleece the flock. Others, who ARE doing the work of the Lord, have side businesses that generate income for them.

I’m a member of OCBF and I would like to clarify that Pastor Evans is still our Senior Pastor. He has taken a step back as the result of bad judgment which led him to sin. This is exactly what any pastor should do when he falls short of the standards of God, our LORD Jesus Christ. The elders have established a process for the Pastor to follow, which he has agreed to and is following. We don’t know what the sin was, other than that it wasn’t a violation of the law. It wasn’t a criminal offense. No man is beyond correction and Pastor Evans is no different. Romans 3:23 NASB for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Therefore, Pastor Evans humbly stepped down, for the moment, to purge himself of his sin and seek guidance from the LORD Jesus Christ. That’s what he’s supposed to do. The fact that most people don’t understand that is the real problem. Just because it’s sin doesn’t mean it’s scandalous. Thank you 🙏🏽

There is no scripture in the Bible where it says that God does not call women to preach. Even though we don’t see women in that role, they were leaders such as Deborah. I am not going to listen to this because the Bible prohibits women from being pastors. If she disobeys this teaching of the Bible, what else does she disobey in the Bible? I know, she will probably say, as do all the women "pastors" do, "GOD told me to be a pastor." Sorry, but God will NOT tell you to do something that violates His Word. Based on that logic, someone could approach you and stab you with a knife and claim, "God told me to do it." I don't believe Dr. Tony Evans "resigned." He's still volunteering, serving, and working in the ministry. Please get your facts straight. We ALL sin, but unfortunately, not too many in leadership will admit it, repent, and work to be restored, which is the biblical process that Dr. Evans is following.

There is no scripture in the Bible where it says that God does not call women to preach. Even though we don’t see women in that role, they were leaders such as Deborah. You are putting words in God s mouth. He can choose to call whomever He wants to because He is sovereign. No women preachers is a statement that came from mankind. In Revelation it states that we should not add or subtract from God’s word . If it’s not written plainly then you should not put your interpretation in it.

I am not going to listen to this because the Bible prohibits women from being pastors. If she disobeys this teaching of the Bible, what else does she disobey in the Bible? I know, she will probably say, as do all the women "pastors" do, "GOD told me to be a pastor." Sorry, but God will NOT tell you to do something that violates His Word. Based on that logic, someone could approach you and stab you with a knife and claim, "God told me to do it." (Of course, over history there have been some people justify their crime or sin by saying, "God told me to do that.") So, what else in God's Word does SHE disobey, and how does she justify it?
