The last part is essentially a powerslide in this mechanic as the inertia is higher than the force of friction can counter, however he doesn't spin out due to the traction on the vehicle. LAWS OF PHYSICS!

having first hand experience with the 86 fully upgraded in Forza Horizon 2 on 360, it's a very drifty car, because of it being RWD and having more weight in the front, once you get the car's behavior down, it's fairly easy to control and drift, needless to say, I have the most fun in the 86 because of how wild you can get it in corners
I'd like too see this done in assetto corsa

Well, there's actually a sequel manga called MF Ghost. Takumi's mentioned, and he doesn't race anymore. Sadly, it's not because of old age, but because he suffered a career-ending injury while racing. Before that, he was a famous rally driver.

You could probably decrease your time if you tried to stick some of the corners. Not all of them, because you're going pretty fast, but entering close and exiting wide without going into a sharp drift will increase your exit speed.
I suggest making them wider if possible. Influences your braking, power, and stability. Also increase the braking pressure in the back, and decrease the front. This can straighten out your car if you lightly apply the brakes coming out of a drift, or if you are losing control.

The coolest part is that Stephen actually did some pretty nice drift there.

You can, actually. There's a bit of set-up. Get a Willard Faction without bulletproof tires and shoot all four wheels until the car is lowered twice (per wheel), and have fun.
