You do know that Texas’s fight song starts of with “Fight Texas Fight Texas and it’s goodbye to A&M”. These songs go way way back to when colleges competed regionally against each other. It’s only a two hour drive from Austin to College Station. A lot of history in these old fight songs.

This war hymn is the ONLY thing about Texas I ever liked. IDK why, I can't help it, every time I hear them sing out "sounds like hell" I smile, and route for the Aggies. Go A& M. And this is from a Yank.
@Chorus Frog I totally feel you. Let me break down the A&M "cult" ideology that goes around. Sorry it's a long text but it's the best explanation of "how it is" at A&M. Okay so I got accepted, I'm an Aggie & all but I'm a first-gen Aggie so I didn't get the memo that I needed to NOT have tattoos, piercings, colored hair or dress alternative (it's college so that's the time that you're allowed to rebel! Or so I thought..) & that I needed to wear nothing but A&M clothes every single day & to not walk on the grass of certain buildings or else people will hunt you down & throw manure on your car bc it's part of a hazing tradition. That was my 1st day of school. Also, Aggies claim this "moral code" that they like to go by that states "Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal, or associate with those that do". Well the 2nd day of school, I left my wallet in the dining hall & I came back to get it & noticed that it'd been returned but the big bills had been taken out of it so you could tell an Aggie did it, they had to turn the wallet in with some money in it to make it look like they didnt steal any so it was a cleverly deceptive move. I had to take a break from school bc it was just too much for me to embrace all at once since I'd transferred from a smaller school. It was a huge culture shock & I was so disappointed that the students didn't uphold the moral codes of what I viewed as such a prestigious university. I went & bought a bunch of maroon A&M clothes & the stupid little bikes with the basket & everything else, then went back to re-enroll. There's an unsaid dress code at A&M that pretty much wants you to look like you're going to play golf every day, except with an A&M logo on your shirt. I joined the sorority & they had an actual written dress code, the whole "we wear pink on Fridays" type thing, except it's "we wear maroon everyday, with skirts & jewelry". I opened the flier for the sorority & I didn't see any diversity. All the girls on the cover where white & the most diversity I saw in the pamphlet was a brunette. Seriously. I read the stats on A&M & they keep the acceptance ratio at 60% men & 40% women at all times. It started off with A&M being an all-male military school (up until the 1940's did they start letting women in & not by choice either) so when you get there, you're supposed to know that & to pretty much just deal with it. I got a parking pass at the last minute bc I was still in summer classes at my other school before I transferred so my parking spot ended up being right behind the football stadium & all the time ppl would vandalize my vehicle bc it was a beat-up old truck without a big A&M banner on it & not a big, brand new, "daddy's money", giant tires, lift-kit-but-never-been-stuck-in-the-mud, 'slanging & banging through these streets' type of truck. I kept reporting the damages done to my poor truck, omg I had like 4 active police reports & they literally did nothing about any of it, even to a federal offense level. I had a PO Box on campus with student workers there & they'd deliver my mail opened (which is a federal offense) I'd get other ppl's mail & packages in my PO box & I'd return them to the front desk like you're supposed to. I'd address these serious issues to the campus postal workers but they didn't stop. They were in on it & wanted me gone bc I dressed differently. So I even went as far as reported my mail being opened to the postal services outside of A&M & I never received any justice. No justice for the destruction of my property on the 1st day they threw horse manure in the back of my truck for no reason & ruined everything that wasnt bagged, pried open my truck door & cut the driver's side seat belt along with numerous other damages, opening my mail, my stolen money from my wallet in the dining hall, etc. Aggies don't work well with ppl that are different. If you look at the stats of the school, it indicates that it's predominantly white male & that's how they keep it on purpose, to maintain "the tradition". It's a boy's school pretty much & that's all there is to it. They treat the women who join the corps of cadets like shit, they call them racist names, kick them in the back & treat them like men. They have this mentality that if you're there, then you'll tolerate these acts & treatment & the police there won't do anything about it. So there's a saying there that "Highway 6 runs both ways", which means you either deal with it & stay or you get the fuck out. I have a loyalty to my school only bc I worked so hard to get in, just like everyone else & I'm there to finish my degree. One of my professors noticed the way I was treated & told me he understood my pain bc he was Muslim & was also heavily discriminated against. He was an MD doctor who taught microbiology & he supported me in my endeavors. The staff & school are wonderful, it's just the student body that's garbage. The dining hall gave me free food after my wallet incident & would always let me line cut everyone. They even offered me a job but I had a full course load so unfortunately I couldn't accept it but like I said, the staff & school board members treated me well with a wonderful recommendation letter when I withdrew for a few semesters bc of a death in my family. They said wherever I graduated from, they wanted to attend it, even if it wasnt at A&M, bc they saw my potential & how well I did in my classes, despite all the adversities, which indicates a high level of capability in a person. So I accept it now that I've done a little research. Got me some aggie wear, took the piercings out, dyed my hair back blonde & "got with the program." Even after that, one of the students was still shitty to me bc I wasn't a slut like her & was focused on my studies. They also say "Aggies support other Aggies" so I assumed she'd follow through with her word about showing me through the new vet building but instead, she just tried to use me as bait at the parties every night of the week to attract younger guys for her to sleep with (unknowingly to me, until I realized what was going on & confronted her) so I'd end up just awkwardly sitting on the couch at all these parties, waiting for her to "finish" so we could leave & i could get a ride to the school & get my checklist done like she promised before I rode up there with her. I even asked if I should bring my own car & she said "no that's not necessary, you can use mine", meanwhile the whole time she was using it herself everyday, so I never had a chance. I had to have a friend come pick me up after I confronted her for lying to me about promising to use her car & helping me get my school stuff done like she promised we'd do that week & she threw an absolute fit about being held accountable. So then I realized that shitty ppl are everywhere, not just at A&M. I'll say this though, if you're not a white male entering the school, then brace yourself. I find it kinda funny that George Bush Jr. says that UT is "Texas' school" when both his parents are buried at A&M lol so despite the adversity, I continue the pursuit of my goals bc I have recommendations from the ppl that really matter, which are my professors. Ppl don't go there to make friends until after everyone has graduated. Until then, they act like a pack of hungry cannibalistic wolves that'll turn on you in a second if it means they can get your spot. It's highly competitive & extremely cutthroat there & you definitely have to suck it up & grow a pair or you won't survive. I remember being asked twice if I was a student bc I dressed alternatively. I was also accused of stealing my own bike bc i looked different until I showed them my key to the padlock. You always lock your bikes up or else the students will throw them in the nearby trees. The A&M bike tree is also a "tradition" I'll never forget. Fortunately it was one of the hazings that didnt affect me bc I always locked my bike up. Moral of the story is: "Highway 6 runs both ways" so I support my school in the meantime bc I gotta graduate & nothing more!
@Chorus Frog well it's definitely sounds like you're passionate about what you believe and I think that you should enroll yourself into a good university of your choice, get educated to gain the credentials you need (instead of being just a fan that bought a ticket and can't see the game) and work your way up the government ladder to become president, that way we have somebody trustworthy in office! (According to your link on how it works) I also have some bad news...shitty people are everywhere, sir. Not just in politics but celebrities, banks, corrupt doctors who overprescribe patients with zero regard to their health or wallet, corrupt police officers who get off scot free with murder just because they're officers, and the common day sicko that lurks amongst us unknown until they pull a terroristic attack in the name of trump. Would everyone rather Epstein still be alive and babysitting our kids? Hell no, good riddance to the sicko! However, no individual is perfect. Not one. If they tell you they are, they're lying. Even those we hold dear or respect, they all have flaws. Not defending anyone or anything, but just saying the truth. Yes I agree with you, most Aggies are cocky. What they need to learn is confidence and confidence comes from knowing you're the best because you've been the best for a long time. Aggies still have a long way to go as far as football is concerned but that isn't my particular forte. A&M has the best veterinary school in Texas and I'm not paying out-of-state tuition. My undergraduate conversion to UT would be a Bachelors in Natural Science versus a Bachelor's of Biomedical Science at A&M and although the student body is far more difficult to get along with at A&M, my major is what I'm after. As far as conspiracy theories and whatnot, the universities have taught us to look into accredited websites that state facts as we know it with proof. Such websites typically end in .edu .gov or .org and unfortunately we don't get credit for sites like youtube or wikipedia since anyone can post and edit those sites when we don't know who is posting and if what they're posting is fact. We can only use sources on our homework from scientific accredited websites that they strictly go over with us in English 101 and 102. College is awesome. If you want to know for a fact what happened to epstein, or 9/11 planting bombs at the bottom of the tower then I guess you'll just have to take an architectural design course, physics, chemistry, calculus, and all that fun stuff so you can go proudly proclaim that you have all the answers you sought and you showed those Aggies who's boss by walking out of that school with a diploma that costs roughly around 5 figures, saying you successfully and factually attained all your answers and you've got the proof to show for it!! I know that's what I'm doing! Shake your diploma at em too, Fuck em! You can do a hell of alot more damage inside the system than outside of it. And on that note, I bid you a good day sir!
@Chorus Frog I do apologize ma'am, and as you know the Bush Administration you speak of, The McConnells know the Clintons and they're actually really nice people. Everyone says that "they try to take your guns away" but after a bear attack involving my family and the man that wasn't supposed to have his gun in Canada (illegal in that country, tourist from Alaska actually) that was held in jail in the country, the Clintons brought him back to America, along with his gun because he was a hero for shooting the bear that killed 2 people and severely injured 4, so the Clintons are not bad people, nor are they taking away gun rights. They merely are trying to get them less accessible to those that can just walk in walmart, buy one and kill innocent victims in the name of Trump. Those people don't need access to guns and they were just wanting a more extensive background check with less availability so statistically, gun violence would go down (statistics, lack of supply=less availability, naturally, although it still happens but in less numbers if you make the supply harder to get) regardless of what you may think or read. Knowing them personally is a different, outside what the internet claims. The burial for the Bushes at A&M was extremely respected. In the past when we still had values, the current president, Republican or Democrat, would always make the attendance of deceased older presidents. It was very disrespectful that Trump didn't even show up for the burial of our past president and his wife, and even had his immigrant wife (which he's so strongly against, btw) have the audacity to wear a shirt that says "I really don't even care". The disrespect that he displays is what sets an example to our nation and our children. Parents now have to explain "Grab her by the pussy" and he has sexual fantasies about his daughter, brags of all the pornstars that he's slept with and his daughter, Ivanka Trump deleted emails off a private server, so no individual is perfect, regardless if it's our president. Representatives from other countries don't treat him with respect because he doesn't deserve it since he doesn't portray it. If you have these degrees you claim, you wouldn't sneer at education and preach pseudoscience. Yes, chemo and radiation is expensive and can be traumatic on your body, yet it saves children's lives when caught early enough. There are alternative treatments. Look up the Hoxsey treatment for cancer, that's a good read. Its an alternative cancer treatment in Mexico that's far less expensive and has also had positive results on cancer patients that have healed using that alternative medicine/treatment so I get what you're saying. Since you have all these degrees, sounds like you should definitely run for president with your educational credentials so that you can set all these things straight, set all these doctors straight and become a doctor or president yourself. Good luck on your way! I have a lot of work to do so this is going to be my last message. Finals are coming up, along with Christmas break and it becomes exhausting to read all of these comments when perhaps you might want to invest in speaking with a counselor about this anger towards things in America, instead of raging on at individuals agreeing with you and showing respect. Good luck on your way to becoming president or a doctor so that you can make a change, instead of venting on RUclips because that will get you nowhere. Only actions generate change. I correct myself and bid you good day, ma'am.
This will forever remind me of my grandfather who passed away this morning. I love you forever papa

@@Landry_Longhorns_Fanthe song was written by an Aggie in a foxhole during WW1 to help pass time and entertain the other troops. History is cool, you should check it out and learn why it is what it is.
@@user-tz2zz5ij1s that’s cool I did not know that about the song A&M does have some of the greatest traditions of all time
@@Landry_Longhorns_Fanwe do have some pretty silly ones also. Can’t wait to see y’all at Kyle next year. It’s going to be fun.
Side note, along with Rice, both Texas A&M and Texas have been doing great work together and are on the verge of a massive cancer breakthrough, they call it jackhammering cancer cells. Enemies on the field, but working together to change the world off it.
YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SONG

The problem with the lyrics is that it only works when they're up against UT
You do know that Texas’s fight song starts of with “Fight Texas Fight Texas and it’s goodbye to A&M”. These songs go way way back to when colleges competed regionally against each other. It’s only a two hour drive from Austin to College Station. A lot of history in these old fight songs.
I love how my high school also uses this song as our fight song!!
One of the best fight songs, actually war hymn out there.
GREAT WAR SONG. GIG 'EM AGGIES!!!!!

This war hymn is the ONLY thing about Texas I ever liked. IDK why, I can't help it, every time I hear them sing out "sounds like hell" I smile, and route for the Aggies. Go A& M. And this is from a Yank.

best song ever!!!!! (I am a Texas A&M Fan BTW)
My favorite I live 10 minutes away from the university lol
Gig em Aggies! Such an amazing school with amazing comradeship!👍
Such websites typically end in
.edu .gov or .org and unfortunately we don't get credit for sites like youtube or wikipedia since anyone can post and edit those sites when we don't know who is posting and if what they're posting is fact.
They just played this as George HW Bush casket was loading off of the train into College Station. Very cool.
Here before my first philosophy exam.
