The build up gives me absolute CHILLS. Seeing the band March. I love the respect for our fight song. The flutes before the song just absolutely erupts. Amazing.
"Conquest" is the theme song in the 1947 film, "Captain from Castile," starring Tyrone Power. It was composed by Alfred Newman, one of the greatest film score composers in Hollywood history. Mr. Newman bequeathed his rights to the song to USC in his will. PS - USC is the only university band to ever have been awarded a Gold Record... actually they have two... both for Fleetwood Mac albums on which they played. Also, in the Tom Hanks film "Forest Gump," the Alabama marching band was played by USC's "Spirit of Troy" band dressed in 'Bama uniforms.

I am an ASU grad who never went to USC but I have been a huge fan for over 60 years since attending my first game at the coliseum in 1954 thanks in large part to their Amazing Trojan band. I just love the Trojan band playing conquest which I’ve heard at least 1000 times. Fight On!!!
So happy that Reggie Bush FINALLY got his Heisman Trophy back after 10 years. He deserves it after everything that he's been through. Now that this nightmare is over, it's time to focus on getting a National Championship now that we are in the Big 10. #FIGHTON
My niece just graduated from USC two days ago (Masters) and they had their graduation ceremony at the Galen Center. It was awesome hearing the band play CONQUEST as all the graduates filed into the arena in cap and gowns. It was very appropriate as they all worked hard and deserve praise for their achievement. Way better than my graduation in the mid 1990s. Welcome Noble Trojans.
Listening to this song brings tears to the eyes and makes one want to run through a brick wall. So much class and dignity associated with USC and the Moose is proud to be an alumnus of this great tradition and university.
GOD is asking a potential football high school recruit about where he wishes to play and here is how it goes> 1) Would you rather play at a school where the local river smells like a paper plant or would you prefer to play where the beautiful Pacific Ocean awaits for your pleasure? 2) Would you rather play at a school where the women are inbred and have two missing front teeth or would you rather play where the most beautiful reside? 3) Would you rather play at a place where the local celebrity is named Goober or would you rather play where the greatest man known to this human race resides - the USC MOOSE? The recruit obviously answers with wherever the Pacific Ocean, beautiful women, and the MOOSE live. This obviously is referring to UAT with the first statement for all three and USC for the second part of the three. Therefore, the smart and intelligent recruit chooses USC over UAT. Simple deduction.
USC will always be the best PWI marching band in this great nation. Norfolk State will always be the most disciplined (of any HBCU or PWI) and most articulated HBCU marching band in this great nation. JSU and FAMU will always be the most fun HBCU marching bands to watch. I was blessed to do a show with USC's marching band back in 2003 when our Trojans hosted Hawaii. It was such an honor. USC is another reason why I'm proud to be from Southern Cali. Ironically, I now go to Prairie View A&M after years in the Army to get my Masters; and I must say, our Panthers are catching up.
I'm 62. Born and raised in LA I've heard this all my life. A few years ago, living in Northern California, I had the opportunity to go to a Cal Bears game vs. USC. First time I'd ever seen the band in person. It was so great.
As a Buckeye fan, I must admit that I love the fight song. There's nothing like hearing this as the Trojans drive down field, or on defense. OSU and USC, two of the best bands in the country!
This is College Football Tradition. When the band is playing and the Trojans are moving the football...they know how to do it at USC. And I'm an east coast guy. When USC came from being down 24-6 to Notre Same at halftime...what was it 1974? Anthony Davis 6TD game. They came out in the 2nd half and just played smashed mouth football in the 2nd half. I think the golden domers were stunned and just literally quit in the 2 half. .
The comeback was in 1974. USC scored right before halftime to make it 24-6. Davis took the second half kickoff for a touchdown, USC scored 35 points in the third quarter and 14 in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter to win, 55-24, en route to a national championship. Davis scored four TDs in the game. He scored six TDs against Notre Dame in 1972. Davis might have won the Heisman Trophy in 1974 if voters had not been required to send in their ballots before the Notre Dame game. He finished second to Archie Griffin.

Theee best college anthem in the country. FIGHT ON TROJANS!!!
My son LOVES USC! This morning he was wearing his USC shirt to school. On the way, this song was playing on the news. It was a great send off for him to a great day!
Living is Michigan, WITH an Ohio wife, I was not too popular as a USC fan. I still remember the (long ago) Rose Bowl: USC (John McKay) v OSU (Woody Hayes) OSU leading 10-7, USC gets the ball deep in it's own territory, with little time left. Pat Haden led the Trojans down the field, and he hit his old high school teammate J K McKay (coaches son) in the right corner of the end zone. The old man and I always bet $5 on the game. Score is 17-16, and the old man say's "well that's it" Huh? Well, after the PAT, there isn't enough time for either team to score." ME: "John McKay didn't come here to kiss his sister." "No way, he's be crazy". Soooo, they line up, Haden drops back, J K McKay is double teamed, and Haden hits Shelton Diggs in the end zone; USC, 18-17. Sweetest $5 I ever got.
I'm from Jasper, Alabama, and would you believe we had one of our own go ALLLLLLL the way out to Los Angeles to attend SC and she was even a USC cheerleader!
Coming from a Michigan fan, I remember playing ncaa as a kid and everything this song came on from the menu, I just stopped what I was doing and listened. Truly a classic

2. Tribute to Troy 0:30

Rose bowl win secured
What a song
Respect
Let's go Trojans ✌️

You don’t have to be a fan of USC to love their fight songs
