- Hear the Texas A&M fight song in HD, the Aggie War Hymn, played by the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Traditions are an important part of the culture and history of the university in College Station, and this video tries to capture a few of those traditions during football season, offering a taste of the real Spirit of Aggieland!
Lyrics to Aggie War Hymn
Hullabaloo, Caneck Caneck!
Hullabaloo, Caneck Caneck!
(*The first verse in generally omitted and the second is sung twice.)
All hail to dear old Texas A&M
Rally around Maroon and White
Good luck to the dear old Texas Aggies
They are the boys who show the real old fight
That good old Aggie spirit thrills us
And makes us yell and yell and yell
So let's fight for dear old Texas A&M
We're goin' to beat you all to
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Rough Tough! Real Stuff! Texas A&M
Good-bye to texas university
So long to the Orange and the White
Good luck to dear old Texas Aggies
They are the boys that show the real old fight
"The eyes of Texas are upon you…"
That is the song they sing so well (Sounds like hell)
So good-bye to texas university
We're going to beat you all to
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem

Rough Tough! Real Stuff! Texas A&M

I was enlisted Navy for over ten years and all the best officers for which I worked had one thing in common: Texas A&M.
My heart is there...'75
My grandfather was Core of Cadets class of 49 went on to server with the newly created Air Force during the Korean War
Thank you for that. My men and the crew liked me. Because I was firm but fair and treated them with respect.
Number one band in Texas....in the south......in America. Texas A&M Band has never lost a halftime.
Longhorn band is better
@The_one_knocks25 rather be an Aggie than a t-sipper from t.u.
I'm a Sooner but the Aggie war hymn is something that will get you fired up no matter if you're a college football fan
I bet you like it because it says saw varsities horns off short
@@michellehougland8681 Well we all have something in common
Respect 🫡
Agree. And our Sooners will play the Aggies again next year 😃 and as a Sooner, I can say I am actually also looking forward to the Texas/Texas A&M rivalry resuming
Nah, Texas A&M fight is actually good
I am an Austin Native... I was burnt orange through to the bone. My son Abraham Samilpa attended A&M and is part of 2019 class. I would go to his Corp Cadet ceremonies and was very proud of the man y'all were turning him into. It was his Senior year and he invited me to a game which, for him, started in the corp assembly courtyard. All the yelling and pride made me feel good. Then I hear the A&M band marching and playing the A&M War Hymm..... I was getting hooked the right way. The game started and it was great but what really Hooked me was when everyone had their arms around the Aggie on either side... Then the swaying started.... Man that was the feeling I never got during a shorthorn game.
Thanks for giving my son an opportunity to better himself so he wont have to work hard like me.
Texas A&M!
GIG'EM
WHOOP!
I have a buddy I attended high school with who is an A&M graduate as was his Father and Grandfather! Our youngest son-in-law is an Army Lieutenant Colonel and also an A&M graduate. Great traditions at Texas A&M!
Our grandson is in the Core Cadets and is a leader in the Rudders Rangers. He turned down an appointment to West Point and took a full ride scholarship to Aggie Land. Wants to be an officer in the Army like his mom and dad ( our son had 2 commands in Iraq ) we were shocked he turned down West Point but COVID was running rampant! He loves Texas A&M and the Core did a great job recruiting him. Plus he is close to home. It is an outstanding program. PLUS THEY BEAT THE HELL OUT OF ALABAMA!105,000 people at Kyle stadium!!! Oh , and, GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!!!
Gig'em Aggies
My husband and son are both former Aggies
I was in the Corps with Abraham, he was class of 18 I think. I was class of 20. We were both in Color Guard together.
Beautiful to see My husband was from 72’! He passed during Covid-19! But these type videos help us feel he’s still with us via Aggies forever
I am class of ‘70. My brother, ‘78, died last Friday. He was fighting cancer, but then COVID got him. He was a good man and a good Aggie. RIP.
Have you sent his name to A&M so that he will be on the roll call at Muster? I am so, so very sorry for your loss this damn virus has got to be stopped. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We always go to Muster, daddy is class of 52. I will say a prayer for him at Muster.
@@charlesroach9372 #HERE 72’ my prayers for you, family and friends as you begin this journey without him in your lives. I know he will be with you all as you need him! But it’s so lonely at times without them. Then other times memories creep in and bring peace and joy
Here
I'm so saddened to hear that and sorry for your loss.I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Fun fact: during the “saw varsity’s horns off,” the crowd swings in opposite directions to mimic a saw going back and forth. This isn’t the fun fact. The fun fact is that the press box sways with the crowd, there’s even a sign telling newcomers that it’s normal and A-OK
My great uncle is in the aggie Hall of fame and a war hero who never returned from ww2
Thanks for sharing. I am thankful foe his service. He is here watching over his great nephew with the eyes of Texas upon you.
I'm a 1974 graduate of Texas A&M. My stepson & I visited campus this past year for the Auburn game. It was my first trip back in over in 47 years. I had planned previously to return but something always came up. This time the stars aligned I was able to go. While much was the same, much was different. The campus had grown by leaps & bounds. There were new buildings everywhere, Kyle Field was enormous. Of course some things never change. A howdy was still the greeting, the campus was still immaculate. I then heard The War Hymn live & @ that moment I knew I was home. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. It's not a sentiment, it's a fact
2:49 when the rough rider theme starts playing gives me chills every time and I'm a die-hard Alabama fan
Then we have something in common. Although, Auburn's fight song is superior, A&M's song is a close second. Surprised to see a Bama fan with a great taste in music.
Bama/49ers fan 🤨
The Aggie War Hymn! No other "fight song" of any university compares.
As an Auburn fan, I have to admit The Aggie War Hymn can get anyone stirred up. If I lived in Texas, I would have to be an Aggie fan.
Non-Aggies will never understand.
As a Auburn fan I understand the deep hatred, the undying pride in your school, win or loose.
Always swells me with Aggie Pride and brings a tear.
The madcot dog is so cute
Her name is Reveille and she's the first lady of Aggieland (texas am)
My son and his wife are both former students and I am so proud of them!!! Go, Aggies!
Late one night, when the t-sips were in bed
Ol Sul Ross took a lantern in the shed
The Aggie kicked it over, he winked and then he said
It'll be a hot time in Austin tonight
Im a proud Aggie mom my daughter is a senior and I really want to thank this university for treating her with respect thank you 👍

I just finished reading biography of USAF 4-star Bernard Schriever, and how he started his military career as an Aggie. Interesting guy: smart, fearless, a man of vision.
So yes I can say I am an aggie by honor and tradition . once an aggie always an aggie
My daddy is class of 52. We all live in KS now, chased the black gold up here from TX. My husband had never been to an Aggie game so we took him to one in St.Louis. We got to our seats & I informed him of a few of the traditions he would see during the game, on his feet..
The Aggie War Hymn and Scotland The Brave says it all.
And it is NOT A FIGHT SONG! IT IS THE WAY HYMN!
WAR HYMN!
If you hear this song & find something in your eye, you know your blood is maroon. DS’87
Don't forget kissing your date after the Aggies score
Brings tears to my eyes everytime...
Glad you were able to splice together an inspirational piece. A lot of that is my footage!
Thanks so much for your comment! I really appreciate your taking the time to view the video. It was for a project for a course in higher education history that went along with a talk I gave on A&M history/traditions - and as I told people in my class, you really can't understand what is meant by the power of TAMU history/traditions unless you hear/see them for yourself. I am not sure which footage was yours, but the class loved seeing it, and I did great on the project :)
@@DorothySEdD GREAT! I'm just happy the footage could be repurposed in a positive manner for you and the university. Super job!
If I could turn the clock back 30 years I would have made better decisions and attended Texas A&M. Maybe in my next lifetime.
Great school, Great band!
My Aggies! Killers of #1 Alabama!!
LSU: Join the Club.
The world best marching band
Inspiring. Thanks! I’m an Aggie Dad and my son is now a Senior.
The short horns are gonna catch hell come SEC play.
Yes they are
Absolutely love the Aggie spirit! This year was beautiful! No masks, no fear, just pure togetherness.
I love it! Always have, always will.
im a gamecock so i can tell what is a diss and what is not . THIS ENTIRE SONG IS A DISS TO TEXAS UNIVERSITY!!!
Yes. And…?
20 years in the Navy.
Never served with one A&M Graduate that wasn't top notch and squared away.
More importantly they were never arrogant and pig headed like a certain university graduates from Annapolis. They valued their Sailors lives more than their own.
It was interesting to see all that Aggie Spirit personified. As for the football hype, many people don't know this but there's a word that describes when the extreme physicality extends for longer than four seconds at a time, and is combined with fluidity of movement and flexibility of action, thinking on one's feet and adapting to an ever-changing environment, and just awesomeness in general. It's called "rugby".
I was at IOBC 2-93 with 200 other new butter bars from all over the US including the academy, me (Baylor), one other guy, and eight Aggie’s made the commandants list.
Awesome go aggies
My bro just graduated and am I the only one who sang along like holy hell I love this song

NAH
Do you know any good Aggie jokes?
UT Austin 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I heard a very rude one once involving "Aggie cheerleaders" being stopped by the Austin police and willfully submitting to special "breathalyzer tests". Thing is, the Austin police were really some UT Frat Boys in costumes having some fun.
How many Aggies does it take to unscrew a lightbulb? 3, one to stand on the ladder, another two to lift it and spin
