As a Sooner, I’ve always had a ton of respect for Texas A&M. Watching this brought tears to my eyes. Such an amazing song, played so beautifully for such an amazing man. Well done to the Fighting Texas Aggie Band!
There have only been two occasions where hearing the Aggie War Hymn brought tears to my eyes. The first one was the Aggie Band tribute to the victims of the 1999 Aggie Bonfire collapse, and then this was the second. Rest in peace President Bush from the class of 2006.
Thank you for adding this clip...when I first saw it on the news, I found this music incredibly moving and searched for the song...It was a fitting moment for the return of GHW Bush 's casket to his home.
Reminds me of when the Michigan Marching Band played The Victors for President Ford when he arrived in Grand Rapids to be laid to rest. Presidents never forget the colleges and teams they loved
I remember standing outside the MSC on the day they of the ground breaking for George Herbert Walker Bush's Presidential Library! The entire Bush family was there! RIP Mr. President! Gig'em 👍
I grew up on the Texas A&M campus, and might be a new member to the fighting Texas Aggie class of ‘24. (At least i hope). I have a ton of respect for A&M. Great job Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band!!
@@spotted_chicken_nugget3955 sadly I didn’t but I still have massive respect for Texas A&M. I am an Aggie even tho I don’t go to school there, as I grew up an Aggie. I go to school out of the state of Texas (where I am originally from)
HW carried to his final resting place with a song whose central message is “Texas sucks”. What a legendary choice. So glad A&M and Texas are back in the same conference so this rivalry can flourish once again.
I did too... it made me very emotional to hear the War Hymn played when the casket was removed from the train in College Station. Especially knowing my cousin wrote that War Hymn 100 years ago.
I was a freshman at Texas A&M when this happened. It will always be ingrained in my memories.

@@MikeskaBrands wow. It's heart touching
Presidents are required to plan their funerals and update yearly after they leave office. This was President Bush’s plan. He lived A&M.
Im not a Republican but I had respect for him
I didn't support most of his policies. I never voted for him. But I respected him.
