  • In Episode 4 of Understanding Mountain Bikes, we take a look at how to dial in the fit of your bike, from setting up your cockpit to adjusting your saddle.     Just to ajust the saddle hight: the bend of the knee is a bit subjective to many rides. So I recommend to put the heel (ankle above the pedal axle) of the fully extended leg on the pedal, what makes a more consistent bend of the knee in the pedal position. Hope that helps 😇

    I just installed the Hope rotors( in red to match my Transition Sentinel) and MTX gold label pads, I bought from Fanatik and cant wait to try them out.

    Why do you measure saddle height down to the pedals? This way crank length does also affect the seat height. I would rather take the measurement from the center of the bottom bracket.

      Good question. As you say, your crank length directly impacts how high your saddle will be, so it needs to be included in the measurement. Otherwise, you can't take that measurement from bike to bike and know that it'll put your legs at the correct extension.
