I always thought Land of Hope and Glory should be our anthem. Nothing against the Queen. Love it and always cry as l have lived abroad for 40 yrs but have always been very patriotic.

Personally, how can anyone criticize national pride and patriotism when there is this type of love for ones country.....DOWN with globalism and critics of nationalism.....

I was there that night. It was always great to be at a concert conducted by Sir John Pritchard, I saw him many times. Sadly he died less than three months after this, while he was in San Francisco, preparing to conduct Wagner's Ring Cycle.

“Briton’s never, never, never will be slaves” It’s getting too close for comfort, now?

The only time, when it was easy to hear the singer over the whole audience during Rule Britannia. There are other versions from the Proms that are equally beautiful, but this is the most powerful, that I know

The crazy, the British. But how great! With wonderful music, enthusiastic people full of love for their country and an incomparable atmosphere. we poor Germans can no longer allow ourselves such honest patriotism, even if the post-war generation is not responsible for these terrible crimes of the Nazis. meanwhile we have been stripped of our identities and are being fooled by a corrupt government with no dignity or pride. I am all the more delighted with such images and hope that these enviable Britons will continue to proudly wave their flags.

Though Britain has endured significant losses, their unshakable patriotism will never be extinguished, this very patriotism will become a crucial factor in the resurgence of the great British Empire! May the divine god lead Britain out of its current difficulties.

I was nineteen at the time of this footage and always liked to watch the Last Night of the Proms. The men's white jackets show sartorial elegance, something that I don't notice much of these days. Heart on sleeve music always go down well with me, especially the patriotic variety! I have a very good musical memory and possess perfect pitch.

Shame we can't be as patriotic in 2021. My mum loved this night. She's gone now so this is in honour of her..
