Best wishes friend
Brings back memories as a child of the 60's watching "Queen For A Day".😆😅🤣😂
I’ m not British either but the same for me. Greetings from France
Halo bnag
@@Righthand_ ...hi?
I was there
The atmosphere was incredible !!!!
Hear the organ roar from 5:00 wowzers
Chef d'oeuvre absolu.
Absolutely! I could feel it, just watching the video!
Yes, it certainly does look that way. It seems to have a great deal of traditional meaning.
Only Britons understand what this song means to themselves. Subjects of a monarchy of almost a thousand years. Love for the Kingdom, love for beauty and love for freedom ...
The BBC will never be able to erase it from the hearts of the British people. I'm Brazilian and I'm here writing this. Ave Sir Edward Elgar!
Lucky! Good for you. We thrive on such memories.
You can see how much the musicians LOVE to play this piece and the audience is always glowing with patriotism & pride. God bless the United Kingdom.
Not so much on God Bless the UK, but God bless England, anyway!
Don't have to be from UK to love it. It has immense power.
Of course this is famous worldwide. Here in Japan also, we who play orchestral music, know this very well. I personally love to listen and play this in a orchestra. I think particularly the Trio is one of the most beautiful music exist.
I've just started coaching a middle school/high school orchestra a few weeks ago. This school's tradition is playing this at their graduation (which will take place in a little over a month). After my spending 34 years in the US, it was surprising to know that this kind of tradition exists in Japan too. I am excited to coach those kids with this marvelous piece.
My hope is, some day, we here in Japan, also have an orchestral piece that unites us like this piece unites British people.
Elgar writes such beautiful music. I never tire of listening to his Pomp and Circumstance marches.
I'm not British but it stir up my heart. The song makes me tears.!!!
Me too! I’m American but who cares! 😢
Sakari Oramo, Fin and England shaking hands....pure love ❤ Music has the power!
Land of Hope and Glory,
Mother of the Free,
How shall we extol thee,
who are born of thee?
Wider still, and wider,
shall thy bounds be set;
God, who made thee mighty,
make thee mightier yet!

Britain has given so much to the world. Love it with pride.
How wonderful it must be to live in a country one can be proud of...
For how long?
Night at the Proms...the night the British show and sing their loyalty to Britain. For the the music tears my heart that is filled with pride.
Wonderful
From Barcelona I have enjoyed listening again "Pom and Circumstance". Every year I'm looking forward the last night of the proms. I listen the last night several times. Beautiful night.
Ramon Bosch i Costa why there's no spanish flag?
glad you enjoy our great british tradition of the proms ,wonderful night ,i love it and the best night of my year
I get chills up my spine when I hear this . I've lived in Australia for 54 years and I still have a weep when I hear it!!!!!
Im Irish-American and it brings tears to my eyes too... Love me some Wagner!
@@ronalddunne3413 This is Elgar, not Wagner.
@@ThatGuy-he6lc Where did I ever claim/say/write that this was Wagner? This is one of Elgar's famous pieces... even Americans know this, altho we have another name for it.. WAGNER did an excellent piece taken from "Rule Britannia", which I did comment upon elsewhere.
@@ronalddunne3413 "Im Irish-American and it brings tears to my eyes too... Love me some Wagner!" - I apologise if I misunderstood but it does sound a lot like you are saying this is Wagner.
I love england. One day hopefully i can visit that gorgeous land.
Wow Elgar is surely a great musician. the way he escalates it and the lyrics. While listening to and wathcing this I wished I were a British. How proud would you British people feel to sing this song. I hope U.K. will rise high again in the world!
One of the best patriotic pieces i ever heard.
Greetings from your former colony, the Philippines. 🇬🇧🇵🇭
The Philippines weren't even under british control during the empire
@@rubenschusterpostiglione2705 the Philippines was under the British Empire from October 1762 until April 1764. that was a not-so-well-known part of Philippine history.

Salamat!
Great conductor, greater composition, greatest rendition! Amazing!!
Long live beloved Britain !

Oh that organ is GORGEOUS!! 🎹♥️
This was a once in a lifetime experience, I definitely recommend going if you love music
Are you by any chance from India??!!
long live her majesty and Britain
My mother, an English expat living in Australia used to say patriotism was actually dangerous and a thing only fools would ever buy into. Couldn't help but notice that she'd burst into tears every single time this played at the Proms. Strange power that music has, it can build up inside and assiduously overwhelm us.
Great! Love it when crowd sings along.
yes it makes it wonderful to see
The song, the audience, the lyrics, and boisterous participation: quintessentially British! 🇬🇧
Really... Only the Brits can pull this off.... this pump and circumstance........ I bow my head out of respect ...... Absolutely beautifully done.
LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY
A highlight ... every year!
I love the music and the positive energy of the people.
I think God is listening and smirking.
Incredible atmosphere in UK, I am touched.
Best Interpretation of this genious masterpiece i have ever heared. I am Always swimming away. Well done and thanks a lot.
Awesome, tremendous rendition of this. That must have been fantastic to have been there with the organ notes shaking your bones.
I saw a few Yorkshire Roses!
Makes me right proud to know we are still standing up & being counted!
Tell that to my sister who lives in London ;)
this is so great.
your british anthems are simply wonderful.
greetings from Hamburg.
that organ sub-bas is insane on decent speakers. Big kudos to the guy that mixed this. I hope he'll see this. Great job, man!
That's a nice comment, the music engineers and technicians are often underrated.
Beautiful music by BBC symphonic orchestra and BBC. Thanks UK national sprits.
British we are, British we stay. We Hongkongers are always proud to be British!!!!!
We will fight for world Britain!! Aways! The world is shit without the British idea worldwide
Always

“Hongkongers” sounds sounds so…… racist. Like it is like sayin you fuckin “Negar”
I wish to be there one time!!! Ik wou dat ik daar een keer bij kon zijn, fantastisch!🙌
I played double bass in a symphony orchestra many years ago and this was one of my favoriter to play. Such a majestic and powerful piece and to this day it still gives me the chills.
Britain is so very lucky to be graced by the presence of our Queen.

Beautiful! Love and greetings to the british people from Brazil.

God Bless you Hong-Kong people, one and all. With love from Thomas in Manchester
We lost our eldest son 4 years ago in a dreadful car accident. At the wake Nimrod was played together with Abide with me. Never to be forgotten. Howard 13/11/24
guys just apreciate that gorgeous composition for god sake
WE NEED MORE OF THIS,DAMN IT!! , IT'S ONE OF OUR PATRIOTIC SONGS,WHY IS IT NOT TAUGHT IN OUR SCHOOLS?
Unfortunately, no one seems to know who "we", "our" or "us" is any more. But I agree with you. I won't be cancelled.
The reason songs like this are no longer taught- is because it's "nationalistic" and that is a big NO-NO to the woke mob that runs all things cultural and societal. GODDAM THEM ALL! (YMMV)😁
You answered your own question. It is PATRIOTIC, hence inadmissible. Like the drive to remove "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the American national anthem.
A very moving chorus... really moving
The entire piece is amazing
I think this is THE best version of H&G I have ever heard. Not only is the music flawless but the emotion and audience participation is palpable, and it's gorgeously filmed! I get chills watching/listening. Can I assume it's the UK equivalent of Stars and Stripes forever, for your cousins across the pond? We like (love) to call ourselves "patriotics" here, but I guarantee that 90% of those who say it couldn't tell you the history and meaning of our most popular "patriotic" songs they cheer and flag - wave every July 4th 😢 Very sad, we don't know our own history... what's worse, younger Americans can't even find the USA on a MAP. In 2021, 75m adults define being a patriot as violently invading the seat of gov't in a blind devotion to an autocratic con-man who knows even less about our country's history than they do. 😞
Well said! As a fellow American, I agree that a lot of the people who call themselves “patriotic” or “conservative” don’t actually know much about real American history or traditions, just what talking heads on TV tell them America is about. There are some young people who try to educate ourselves about history though (I’m 22).
Absolutely This song means Britain.
We shall never surrender. Long Live Great Britain!
Where dit i hear that before.
We fight them on the beaches.

This is thrilling to watch on RUclips! I can only imagine what it's like to be there. This is indeed very powerful and passionate!
Masterpiece of music
6:55 the trumpet at the beginning was perfect and it was so dope
This tune is so English it boiled my kettle and poured me a cup of tea.
Muttley you should be very proud
mine played the piano
LoL, it pulls me a pint and I listen to it umpteen times a day
Is it Earl Gray's cup of tea? "Polly puts the kettle on and we all have tea... sip by sip" of that wonderful flavour of English taste.

Your voice reminds me of my late mother Aruna Bala who used to be one of the leading Mezzo Sopranos of Sri Lanka!!!!...God bless you!!!
Our Great Britain 🇬🇧 Truly is the best place on earth. Even our old colonies come to pay their respects at The Proms. If I'm not mistaken, there's a Malaysian flag in the crowd

the spirit of England!!!!!!!!!!
*United Kingdom
A peaceful song with a deep meaning
Excelente apresentação. Amei.
I just love it. And I'm not even British.

GREETINGS TO ALL WORLD CITIZENS!!! Wonderful uplifting and positive vibrations!!!
When I hear this march, I think of the legendary Slovak soprano Patricia Janeckova, who passed away in October of last year after a heroic battle with cancer. I pray that all future performances of "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1" by the BBC will be dedicated to Maestra Janeckova's memory. Patricia lived in the Czech Republic, and there should be a great many Czech and Slovak flags flying in the Albert Hall.
..
Proud to be British. I love my country ❤️❤️
I love this song and UK
Glory to the empire!
When a song brings you to Ecstasy. I want to run around my house screaming when I hear this❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is absolutely splendid! Such a moment, wish I had been there! I love how there is an array of flags, I believe no other country who had the equivalent of this would accept so many flags present within the celebrations. Imagine thrusting a union jack into the fray if this was a celebration elsewhere?
Congratulations from brazil.
Emocionante demais!

I love British forever
5:00 OOOOOOH YEAH! RIP Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
LETS GO MACHOOOO MAN!
I'm 15, but I take it for granted how great my country actually is. My great uncle was among the first off the landing crafts at Normandy in 1944. We alone (with a bit of help from the Americans (when they eventually helped us out)) defeated the Germans and liberated Europe! We owe our past generations all the respect in the world for keeping our country safe. It's now down to us to keep Britain British, and not give it away to every nationality, or Tom, Dick or Mohamed that wants to take us over!
Well said!!#Awesome!
"Mohammed" is already taking you over. You let the enemy thru the gates long time ago. So has Eire.
I think the Russians helped a lot too. :-)
As an American, glad we were able to help our mother country out…
Many a Mohammed fought for the British army in ww2
Loved it
SO COOL! I LOVE MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE!
awesome 😮😮😮
Only if America could be this united...
god save the queen, rule britannia
It's quite ironic that a part of that composition became a popular graduation march song in USA and here in the Philippines that was meant as a song for the coronation of an English king.
Yup, in the USA this is the graduation march! Took me a while to realize when British people talked about “hope and glory” they meant this music.
