I think females do have to fight harder to be taken seriously in legit broadcasting circles. I would love to see Kim Horcher in Playboy, but she's making the right decision here.
I do think she made a mistake by not inquiring as to how much Playboy would pay for her to appear in the magazine; It makes for a better story. Without the dollar figure this story comes off as somewhat anticlimactic for me. Just the fact that she was asked helps her name reach the lips of more people. ...so, Kim, complete the story and find out what Playboy will pay you.

Cenk is dead wrong on the substantive issue here. It doesn't matter how liberal society gets, a woman who posed nude as one of the earlier things she did will be judge negatively, and i would go so far to say even in showbiz. I know, i know, lots of celebs pose nude. But a lot of these already have established careers. Megyn Kelly was already that "hot" news anchor on Fox before she posed for FHM. On the flip side, there are people like Paris Hliton or Kim Kardashian. They are doing well no doubt. But even if they are judged positively (and they aren't in circles that are not all gossip, looks and fame), they are still judged sexually.

That was an awkward discussion. I think an actress might raise her profile by posing nude, but a woman wanted to be considered a serious journalist would see her image damaged by Playboy notoriety (unless she was working for Faux News). Ana was right that women have to work harder to be perceived as smart.
Now, if a woman was working just to pay the bills and wasn't really interested in her job, then sure, why not Playboy, if she so chose? But if she's career-minded, and has a public face *and* wants to be perceived as smart, then it would not be a wise move.

Here are a few examples that one could argue did not help them excel; (Cristy Nicole Deweese (Texas 2013), Olivia Sprauer (Florida 2013), Kaitlin Pearson (Utah 2015, nearly fired for racy fitness pictures). Then again, I suppose if your aspirations are to be a stripper or porn star, posing nude could catapult your career. I'm quite sure the new girl is wondering what she got herself into. I have been watching TYT for quite sometime and I often agree with Cenk's philosophies and/or comments, unfortunately this is not one of those times...sorry Cenk; this time you got it wrong!
