Restore Black Trim The Right Way (Won't Wash Off)

- Restoring trim can get frustrating, especially if you're constantly using products from your local auto store.
Those products are dressings that wash off. Our product is different. ExoForma Black Plastic and Trim Restorer uses dyes to naturally bring the trim back to a rich black color. Since it uses dyes, it won't wash off. It permanently dyes the trim. On a garage kept vehicle, it can last forever. If the vehicle is outside all day, the rich black look will last you 6 months to a year.
For really faded trim, apply 2 coats back to back.
Grab your bottle here » exoforma.com/trim - Авто/Мото
ANY plastic restoring product will look like this immediately after application. You need to show it after 3 or 4 months for your claims to be credible...
Trim restoration is maybe the most satisfying car care ritual next to sparkling clear windows. Thanks
That's an expensive bottle of shoe polish chaps. 4 years since I used silicone shoe polish for black leather. Still as black as Eppsteins conscience 💙
Tell me more please??
@@FromCommandotoYogi ... about Epstein's conscience?
Kidding aside... can you give us info on this "silicone shoe polish for black leather".
What brand/kind of polish
same here lol

I have a jeep cherokee that I have owned for 18 years. Had really faded black plastic fender trim and bumper corners. Around 2005 in the recesses of an internet forum I found a post that was quite convincing regarding a trim restore product. Long story short 300,000km, 18 years later all outside that plastic still looks great after one application. It was a thick clear oily liqiud in a spray bottle. Spray on a rag, apply, wipe off excess, let dry, do it again. You think I can remember the name? Nope. Not that it would matter because if they were still in business it would be a household name. Wouldn't doubt if one of the other companies bought them out and shut it down. Trim products that last like this one would be bad for business.
yeah that looks new to me...try that product on something faded.
Hi, I have a ram Promaster that has a dark gray plastic. Can this product be used to restore and also darken the plastic trim? Thanks for any info.
What if you get some on the paint and windshield?
I have a black seadoo spark which is plastic and it has gotten faded exactly like the bumper you just used this product on. Would it be fine to use on my spark?
Like always great job guys i love your products this will definitely be in my next order
We appreciate your continued support, Rodolfo!
@@exoforma8986 keep up the great work everyone your products are paving the way for DIY people like me
Awesome. Love to hear it. Are there any videos you'd like to see in the future?
@@exoforma8986 you are very welcome man that is a tough one you guys have basically covered everything anyone needs to know. You guys have great customer support i am new to even owning a pressure washer and i had ordered the foam cannon my comprehension is a bit low since my radiation treatments but you guys had the patience to walk me through everything. Maybe a short video for us that are true beginners on how to set up the foam cannon and nozzle tips you reccomend?

Where can I get those lights? Wow
Can it be used for car seat? Also where did you buy your bench?
Any product or best way to kind of mask, hide or make not so visible a couple of small light scratches on new matte black plastic car trim? The scratches are on the inside side of my right side mirror. The scratches appear as small white lines when in sunlight. Can't see then much when in shade. The car has only 800 miles and I have to look at the scratches every time I look out the side mirror. Painful on a brand new car. If they were somewhere else it wouldn't be as annoying. Not sure how it happened. I wash the car by hand. I was hoping it was just dirt but it's not. Doesn't wipe off. I didn't find any rocks or glass stuck in my sponges or wash mitt but buying new ones anyways. Not worth replacing the mirror. Just want to make it less noticeable. Would any of the typical back to black products help on new black matte trim or just make it worse?
How does this product compare against "Lithium Plastic Trim Restoration Kit"? They said that their product lasts for 250 washes guaranteed. However, their product costs $40. I just want to buy the best product without having to reapply every time. thanks.
Gow about car manufacrors atop making cheap black trim?
lol hell that bumper looked great before you applied the snake oil on there
Exoforma! It's hard to tell if trim is black or gray somethings, other products have me afraid to mess up my customers cars.
Hey, Terrence! Thanks for the comment. May be worth trying to do a quick vehicle model search to see what it originally came with, if possible. Our VPR product is also an option. It's a cheaper (doesn't last as long), more versatile water based dressing that works on any trim to help enhance it. Let us know if you have any other questions man!
Does this work with smooth black surfaces as well?
No. These products only work on porous plastic. They don't work on hard smooth plastics, like the ones between passenger doors, or smooth plastic grills.
is it available in india ?
Where can I purchase this product?
It has a “dye” content. What other inert ingredients does it have? I have a 2008 motorcycle (kept inside) but ridden often. All black with some black plastic components. Very particular about what oil, filters, fluid brands, parts, cleaning agents, even stay ahead of recommended servicing parameters.
So, please answer promptly. Same care for my 2006 Honda Accord, and yes my 31yr old tractor mower. “Care” is everything.
Use a heat gun. Brings the oil in plastic back to the surface making the plastic black again. Lasts way longer. Look up videos for more details
@@alejandroalvarado5823 Is there a video you can share that explains this?
@@ChristineLV ruclips.net/user/shorts7E3Mg1z_3XQ?feature=share4
@Christine LaValley just make sure you don't hit the paint on your car
Could this work for like a leather steering wheel as well.
Do Not use on leather
most products will achieve such look, what matters is for how long.
Will doing multiple coats prolong the results?
Minimally, because the product performs best once it's penetrates the pores of the surface (won't as well the second layer). We recommend putting a coating or sealant over top to prolong life!
How well does this work on a vehicle that drives dirt roads frequently?
Great! That won't degrade it much vs UV, rain, snow, etc exposure
once it has cured for a day will it mark white clothes that brush up against it like a skirt or trousers, i'm only intending to use it on bumpers
nope!
Can I use this on my dash board
No
I was told to use isopropyl alcohol to clean the area before apply this. I'm on a year without applying this product.
Hey, Los! Thanks for the comment. It's always smart to prep the surface before applying this product. This helps ensure that the black dye can properly penetrate the plastic and adhere correctly (help get more longevity out of the results). Isopropyl alcohol helps remove any oils/residues that may be on the surface that could potentially interfere.
Are you saying you have not had to apply the trim restoration in 12 months?
@@King_drew guess we'll never know
Mask it. Degrease it. Rattle can it with semi gloss or flat black.
whats your opinion about using WD40 on black bumper & trim?? 🤔
Whats the brand?
...I didnt get it either, he didnt show a CLOSE UP so that we four see it😕😐 whats the name of it??
@@coquijean 0:31 and it's also in the description: ExoForma Black Plastic and Trim Restorer.
It's a crummy commercial? With ads? C'mon guys, let's be upfront and honest with your potential customers.
They all sat the same thing our product is the best
will this product work if my trim is more charcoal color
It has black dye, so it'll turn it black.
@@exoforma8986 perfect... That's exactly what I want to do to my charcoal plastic. 👍
What kind of liquid that is
Try in a old car and we believe you 😂😂
Heck if you take that long to do one spot it will take for ever to get the actual car done.
So I bought some an I wanted to use it so I could have a bbc but now it burns an i need to go to the hospital.
Heat gun!
6 months is still not good enough........use back to black.........it permanently fixes the problem 😊
I don’t about you, but I put dressing on my salad, not on my truck
Didn’t know plastic could absorb anything
Only porous plastic, not smooth hard plastic.
Plastic is very absorbent. Plastic also absorbs odors. Never used stinky or greasy stuff in plastic kitchen containers.
Not an accurate representation in my opinion. That bumper plastic looks brand new. Find a bumper that is used and really faded ,then i will believe it.
6 months is the claim...
Really, liquid shoe polish? WTF
Oh, its a commercial
This demo is worthless. You used it on a perfectly good bumper. The result is nothing more than a wipe down with Armor All.
Try using it on an oxidized/sun bleached bumper... you know, the reason we want to "restore" our bumpers.
What's up with that music?🤣
Haha, we were feeling experimental with the music choice in this video lol
@@exoforma8986 Yeah..Sounds like something from Miami Vice.🤣🤣🤣
@@sportsmansparadice42 hahaha it does!!
So it washes off in 6 month instead of 6 weeks ?
Sht! Get outta here! 6 months?
Plastic doesn't absorb.
The moment you mention that plastic will absorb it you lost me. Plastic has non porous surface. Obviously this is an ad not real review of the product.
Not true. There are a few automotive care products that CAN permeate plastic, not just lay on it.
You don't need any of this shit just get yourself some peanut oil a rag or a paintbrush. Everybody's always trying to scam somebody to buying some bullshit.
Don't do it, people, it will attract hordes of rodents. Just like any other seed oil.
@@igorpotocnik7231 no it doesn't I do it all the time
@@christopherflynn6743 I won't risk it, I live in rodent infested area. If you do it all the time, I gather it doesn't have very lasting effect. And it's not so cheap oil as it used to be. It will also stink when getting rancid and collect dirt, at least I think so, because I've never tried it. If I used oil, it would be boiled linseed oil.
Or just get yourself a propane bottle and apply fast movement heat to bring the oils back to the surface and it will last for years.
