- Today, Jonii will finally be returning to the Super Monkey Ball franchise to discuss Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll, one of the transitional installments from the mid 2000s created after Amusement Vision shuttered. A lot of that staff came back, but were they able to recreate the GameCube's Monkey Magic?

So here's the thing about Touch and Roll's unlock system. You start out with just world 1, then unlock the rest in batches of 2 or 3 until you complete world 10. For world 11, you need to go through the 2 "secret" red goals in the game. Then to unlock world 12, you need to beat world 11 and collect 2006 bananas in the previous worlds.
And btw, you can clear save data with a secret startup combination like the Pokemon games. Regardless, great video as usual!
For that startup combination, it's both shoulder buttons and the four lettered face buttons (A, B X & Y). Apparently it's in the manual's 5th page. I get the feeling you'd have already searched for this intel online (heck, I just did a basic search to get the answer), but I at least hope it helps!

@@super8bitable what nick robinson got fired for is much tamer than you’re making it out to be. Asking for nudes is not something that should permanently jeopardise your career -_-. Unprofessional? Sure. But it’s hardly irredeemable. He’s even acknowledged and apologised for it. Why are you beating a dead horse that has already been settled? Just needless smearing.
I've been emulating this game for a while now. Wanna hear a cool trick to get proper stick input for this game? Set touchscreen input to absolute, map it to left stick, map tapping the touchscreen to a button (for me, ZR) and hold it at all times during gameplay. While the other control schemes are nice and all, I recommend this to anyone who wishes to play this game in the modern era.
This was actually the first Monkey Ball game I'd ever played. I totally asked for it for my birthday just because I thought that the monkeys were hella cute lol. Lots of nostalgia for this one
I grew up playing this game, and this game was genuinely my favourite Monkey Ball experience, but was so sad it barely got talked about that it made me upset.

I’ve always felt this is a really underrated game both for the DS and the Monkey Ball series. Also, hold L+R+start+select to skip the credits. I feel like I’m the only be who knows that not only it’s a credit skip, but can be used anywhere to reset to the AiAi shaking his butt screen

I got Touch and Roll from an elementary school book fair pamphlet. Very underrated Monkey Ball, the new stages in it still have the fun of the first games.

I believe the reason the voice clips were pitched up might be because they were compressed; I've heard that the pitch increasing is a side effect of that. I don’t know how accurate that is, though, so take this with a grain of salt.
Could be a sample rate error, if a voice sample is recorded at 22khz then played back at CD-quality, 44khz, it sounds high pitched and plays back twice as fast, and since 44khz is more common these days I can see a mistake like this happening.
This was the second monkey ball game i had played, and one of my favourite DS games as a kid. I would play DS download play a LOT with my siblings and I recall getting angry at each other over the FPS game mode.

hey! loved this! I have always been a big fan of TnR! something I need to mention is that you can hold L, R, START, and SELECT and it will soft reset the system. that is how I skipped the credits, and it still counts as beating the world!

You can skip the credits by restarting the system, the save occurs after tou touch the goal tape on the 10th level

I do think it is a bit annoying to see stages from SMB1 and SMB2 being repeated here, while the more unique stages gets barely noticed at first.
Also, Starfish/Reversible Gear in World 2.
Can't wait for a base-breaker with Banana Blitz. I liked both versions of it.

this is one of my favorite games on DS Its the only Monkey Ball i played. I loved the mini games but Air Hockey only one i still think about I liked Air Hockey just a lot more then the other games
Touch and Roll is the most underrated Monkey Ball game out there I love it so much 😭 (also you can skip the end credits by holding L+R and Start + Select all at the same time)
