- Former Royal Chef Graham Newbould who was once a chef on the Royal Yacht Britannia for the Queen reveals what goes on in the kitchens of the famous House of Windsor.
From TV suppers at Buckingham Palace, to poached salmon caught and cooked at the Royal Family’s Scotland retreat at Balmoral, Graham shows the viewers how to cook food fit for a Queen. He goes back on board the Royal Yacht Britannia where he makes good use of the Royal ice cream machine, and even recreates the wedding breakfast he helped serve up for the Prince of Wales and Princess Diana. He also gives a fascinating insight into the day-to-day food in a Palace - from eight sided cucumber sandwiches to a special dish of liver and rice, a firm favourite with the ever-present Royal corgis.

I do agree
His cabin on the ship made me really sad. They couldn't find anything better for the staff?
No choice, have to be!
@@khfam6539 Of course not, did you make the mistake of thinking that the Royals are good people and care about anyone but themselves. They drink the blood of children.

As a professional chef I've had the honour of cooking for royalty. You say the food is dull or boring. Incorrect flavours are balanced to the finest detail. I would like to see a modern take on this documentary- revisiting the royal kitchens now (I'm assuming this documentary is at least 20 years old).
Adrianna Miller It refers to “the late Queen Mother”, who died in 2002, so no earlier than that.
Yet they talk about what Diana didn't eat...she died 20 years ago.
Adrianna Miller and of course things change when we get much much older, when the queen and prince Philip were young it was still very much the tradition to have this kind of formality so it’s just what they’re used to and now because they’re old they need the help

WHToronto | they get all that when they visit others countries and are hosted by local royalty. [edit: I hadn’t finished the video yet, apparently they often decline foreign local foods when abroad. Rude.]
Eleonore Bon Exactly my point. She’s not adventurous with food. She always prefer to go back to her usual familiar foods. She wouldn’t even eat roasted pig. I could understand declining the animal from the rat family. I’m sure food like that doesn’t appear on the menu too often though.
I'm soooo with ya!!! 😋❤🇨🇦
Its because your are ethnic hahahah
AKP Star That’s an assumption and obviously a stereotype. Being ethnic has no direct correlation to preference and craving variety. Social factors may influence peoples’ sense of ‘adventure’ for food, but still not always the case. A person could be ethnic, surrounded by diversity and still only prefer to eat their own familiar foods like the Queen.
After having all these in the meals Queen will give lecture about poverty and how to deal with it.

History: The British hated the French for hundreds of years and went to war
Royal Family: All menús have to be in French and have French music playing throughout the galley
The royal family came from France(Normandy) and for 450 odd years French was the official language of those in power.
That would the ‘english’ hatred and the English that went to war with the French.

@Ken Harris i get what you mean now..lol
Michael G Ripple
@Ken Harris You have gót a long Way to go, friend. On the Road to finesse
So I'm not going to make an argument from authority here so I'll just explain it completely. Expensive wine is typically aged longer, the ingredients are higher quality, and the storage is higher quality. From where you get the grapes, to the wood you use in the barrel. A wine that aged in the exact same amount of time, made the same way, but the ingredients used don't have pesticides, or in poor soil quality it will have a different flavor. The type of wood used for storage will affect the flavor as well. Now the end result is subjective, whether you think that more expensive wine tastes better or worse than the cheap one, one thing is certain and that is that it does not taste the same. There is most certainly some objectivity when deciding what tastes good or bad, but ultimately it's always subjective. However saying all wine tastes the same is like saying all potatoes taste the same, or all grapes taste the same. A good example of this is wheat, look at American wheat compared to European wheat, it has much more glucose hence Americans feeling bloated after eating their moms spaghetti.
The secret of the Royal Kitchen must be in the queen's hat. She has had that same hat since I was a child a hundred years ago!
Good insulation, lots of boxes, special paper for clothing and such... to keep odors and moisture out of the box then she has ppl who specialize in cleaning all sorts of things, who knows... maybe it's NOT the same hat and she just has a new one made the same.

Prince Charles is committed to organic farming but transports the fresh produce 600 miles each day? Not very environmentally friendly, is it?
No but when your head is in the clouds, and nobody dares tell you that your wrong- ah well...
Excellent point!!!!!
Organic is not meant to be equal with environment friendly. It just means natural without contamination for the health of eater and only eater, never the environment.
@@j.l1848 - Yet, in my experience, most organic farmers choose to grow organically to be environmentally friendly as well. It would make more sense for the Prince's entourage to source a reputable local farmer to provide organic produce for his delicate palate.
@@timbyr Those organic will rarely true organic, the food of the animal take fertilizer that grow without organic care. You have to make a cycle for yourself and never buy anything to feed or fertilize to be true organic. Which mean you have to buy from a farm that farm all kind of fruits, vegetables and animal together. You don't study how those organic food producer like how the prince did, therefore you cannot understand that as long as those "organic" foods are meant to be sold, they will be produced according to the restrictions only. If the restriction is the feed of the animal must be organic, then fertilizer of the fertilizer of the feed can be non-organic.
Unless the prince found someone that has the capability in term of wealth to operate that kind of farm at those country he visited. Will prince Charles sell you his crop?
