Personally, I'm only comfortable spending a lot of money on items that I know are at least somewhat timeless or clothing that has the quality fabrics that will last me for lots of washes.I guess I've learned from my poor financial decisions haha! Love the videos Harry!
The best part about your videos is how well you keep them minimalistic and the way you connect with the audience with GENUINE problems and solutions.... Great Going ( Loved the Designer kids part)
Absolutely agree with the take on kids designer clothing. For me as a father, it’s much more than just waste of money. Designer clothes can only make a kid feel entitled, special and status aware. Or may be I just feel too strongly about it.
Gotta agree with everything on here! The only time I am spending a bit more on the items in this list is when they have something really special about them e.g made in UK or Italy or something. Except for the designer kids clothes, which is completely bonkers!
@ani that's totally okay. $25 for a shirt is fine tbh (plus as long as the quality is good it's okay) and you're old enough to care. Now going into the hundreds for someone below 12??? Nah.
I relate to the white tshirt issue so hard! Whenever I know I'm eating something potentially messy I will add another layer (overshirt, jumper. Ect) usually in a darker color to protect it 😂
1) my coach-ish jacket was Puma and it was like £35 and I love it… (designer version, waste unless you have BREAD) 2) Caps… fairs, I like some but again it’s New Era, Nike, Adi etc 3) White tees… I’m paying for specifics (certain materials, weights, shapes) - if I find a cheap version, great but so far I haven’t 4) Designer kids stuff… I’ll do once (got my lil cousin her first pair of Jordans so she’ll always have had at least one pair, similarly I might one pair of Yeezys for another lil cousin… bear in mind if I’m paying 170 for my own I can afford cheaper versions for experience) 5) Slides - comfort & shape… you can get that for £50 MAX 6) totes, NAH 7) Cheaper alt… AGREE 8) Trends, AGREE
You are so right about the baseball caps! I bought 2 semi expensive caps through the internet and never seemed to like them and last vacation i bought a cap at a bazar and it fits perfectly and literally cost me 5€
I'm glad I found a Stussy nylon coach jacket at a thrift store. I only spent 10 usd on it and its one of my favorite jackets, not really because of the brand, but the story of finding it. The inside is covered in pink color bleed thought but don't tell anyone
Great points What I would add from my personal experience are sale or deal items that you buy and give them a try just because they are on sale. However, you do not actually love them and end up not wearing them. The same could be said about items, that just do not fit perfectly. You think they work, however you will never pick them if you have better alternatives. The last thing I have experienced is buying clothing items that are too similar to things you already have. As an example, I have 3 pairs of sneakers that have burgundy details. While I love that color, I always grab towards the same pair if I want to include the color in my outfit. The other two pairs do not get much wear time because of that
Agree, you got al lot of good points in there. I think we should also always keep sustainability in our minds when buying fashion items. Just because you spend less money, doesn‘t mean you made a „good“ deal in terms of enviroment and human friendly production etc. Anyways, great videos Harry!
The items i wear the most are all thrifted. Mix it with some more expensive accesories like designer bag and clean sneakers and you're good to go! My favorite pair of jeans is wrangler, thrifted for like $10.
Eminem does a similar thing when he sees an expensive sweater. "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti"
I agree with you on most of the points you made in the video Harry 👍 I will admit I have gone overboard with the white T-shirts in the past because I really wanted that muscle fit summer look
I've wasted so much money buying non returnable items online, or they were returnable, but with fees and shipping cost added to the buyer. Most of the time, the things I quickly had buyers remorse for before it even shipped, I loved. The things I was most excited about I didn't like. It's inevitable to lose some money.
Another great video. Agree with everything except for the tshirts. No need for luxury but good quality high street - just fit better, look better , last longer 👍🏼
I own the exact same uniqlo U white tee, and I am perpetually fighting against myself when eating food as well! Have you thought about making a video on wearing more color, I find my wardrobe nowadays looks more and more like a Tim Burton movie
Sometimes it’s okay to buy a cheaper alternative to see if you like it or if it fits your look, especially if it’s trendy, before committing to the more expensive item.
Gotta say I agree with all but the white tee. Especially ones with the exact fit and quality I’m looking for and nice enough to wear on its own, especially in the summer, as someone who doesn’t wear colour often, spending that bit more for a white tee is worth it.
A white T-shirt is a really high maintenance, despite its simplicity. Hard to keep the "crisp" white over time. Plus occasional stains you get. It is handy to have "Tide to Go" when out and accidentally staining a white t-shirt. Designer Kids line offers much cheaper in terms of Bag. Some designs can be used by adults daily, depending on the size. Palm Angels have some cute backpacks that doesn't look too childish. Cheers!
I usually keep my worn down or stained white tees for fall and winter as a layering pieces underneath a sweater, sweatshirt, jumper or knitwear. For that they still do the job, as you only see a bit of the collar.
Woah. Just noticed at 7:07 you have a shot of the front of a restaurant called "The Local Juicery + Kitchen". It's located here where I live in Chattanooga, TN. Have you been there or is that just a super random shot that you used to make you video?
Gonna be real, I bought the Miyake pleats, thought they were too short. Bought a pair from Boohoo Men (Super fast fashion cheapo brand) for like $10 and wore them almost every day for a year. Sometimes it all works out! On the opposite I've got a Gucci Denim Jacket I've worn twice, versus the one from Target I wear all of the time.
Lately I go for unbranded caps without images on it, easy to style 😂 I bought a tshirt with a huge dinosaur on it for €40 - that is now the most expensive shirt I own, but most of my shirts are simply one color with nothing on them
i consciously avoid any white clothing, apart from 1 or 2 shirts. A small pattern on a white item might help to camouflage part of possible stains. Thats also the reason why, before introduction of heavy laundry machines dry clean, fabrics without patterns were rare or for the rich. I advocate for strategic modestly patterned clothing items, they need less washing...
I have to disagree with the slides. Love my Suicoke Slides and they come in quite the varity of shapes. And I´m also guilty on spendig to much on white shirts, but at least I know how to keep em clean :)
I agree 94%; I'm wearing a white t shirt from Uniqlo right now, paid something like 20 euros, and it's fine. But I recently bought two t shirts (not white, a blue one and a terra cotta one) from a French brand called Bonne gueule, 65 euros each. One is cotton and linen and the other one is Japanese cotton. They are just so much better than a Uniqlo t shirt; they're thicker, the fabric feels great to touch, the fit is perfect for me, it's really not the same. I wear a Uniqlo t shirt if I'm going to wear some layers on it, like a sweater or an overshirt but I'll wear the Bonne gueule t shirt without anything over it, in summer for example. For me, there are t shirts used as a base to layer up, and t shirts to wear on their own. I agree with the rest, though.
7:24 People actually do this all the time and it baffles me. They’ll come in and ask, “what’s popular?” Does it matter what’s popular??? Just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it will suit your taste.
I've learned my lesson when it came to T-Shirts i used to buy high end T-Shirts from recognized brands that would get ruined after a couple of wear. Nowadays I just stay away from the branded T-Shirts and buy them on stores like Uniqlo, COS and Carhartt for a reasonable price.
One point that you didn`t mention. There are different prices of nylon jackets, also because there are brands that respect the rights of their employees, and this is something that will increase the price of their products.
Very nice video hari I love your videos and correct it's absolutely waste of money for kids wearing expensive branded clothes as they are of growing age👍
My tip - don’t waste your money on ‘Dry Clean Only’ clothes - you’re still paying for them (above the purchase price) because Dry cleaning is expensive, you won’t wear them as often, as you don’t want the hassle and expense of taking them to the dry cleaners, OR you’ll give up on dry cleaning them and try washing them in your machine at home and risk ruining the item - meaning whichever way you look at it, you are paying for a more expensive item (no ‘cheap’ stuff is dry clean only!), wearing it less often, and potentially ruining it anyway.
if you dont like trends, start making your own clothing. Thats much more satisfying then buying clothing. Tell you what, it `s not even as difficult as you think it is. Start with a t-shirt. I make my own clothes, but i have to be lucky to find the exact fabric that i want. It takes a while to learn but is a skill you ll enjoy all your life
I am seeing a lot of Patagonia on kids these days, might not even be cold out but there they are - fulfilling their parents' childhood dreams of being the Cool Kid.
I literally found myself agreeing with the very first point before the video even started! (So, of course, I just had to put this comment down before even finishing it). *Now* I can go finish the video :))
Your commentaries are always funny but still informative. 😅☺ Just to add, Prada's nylon is way overrated for what you're paying. Love the brand but never getting their nylon pieces tbh

ahhh gotcha , well next week would u show your setup ?your youtube video setup and what camera u use ? or u can do poses for men in 2023 or how to accept ourselves lol sorry if its overwhelming
I get your point on dupes BUT for example Adidas’ quality has gone down by a lot in recent years: real leather changed into plastic. So I’m buying ”Stan Smiths” from Zara rather than wasting my money on the real thing.
Man I love your videos, if I took your advices more seriously I would have more money 😂 but sadly I’m the one that first have to make a mistake to learn off that mistake!
I got the dickies oakport coaches jacket and I love it. Quality's great. I bought two- the black and the cream color. Designer slides have terrible quality and they feel like bricks.
I agree 100% about designer kids' clothing! At that point, you're just using your child as a fashion accessory. Always love the videos!
Thank you very much mate
Gotta swag out the fam!
It you get a really good deal then maybe, but some Polo and Levi’s would go a long way
Parents dressing kids in designer clothing is like someone having a vegan cat - you know whose idea it was.

I picked up a plain little canvas tote bag from Hobbycraft for £3 and I've already had several complements about it 😅

Ever since 9th grade I stopped paying for graphic Tshirts. They're never better than clean white/black Tshirt
love the analogy about restaurants and asking waiters what's trending. so on point and really puts it into perspective!
