This is what's interesting about the Bankai that I really wish Kubo did more with. There are bankais that are so destructive in their own way that they literally cannot be used unless certain conditions are met and it makes you question how their very first release went when they first unlocked it. Even more so it's not like Kyoraku, Shinji, and Ukitake don't know how to control it. That's just how their swords behave and they have no control over that so they have no choice but to let it happen. If the captain tells you to run away gives you a head start then activates the Bankai and you get swept up in it. That's your own fault for being too slow or being curious as to what it looks like. this is probably the only manipulative ability that comes close to kyoka suigetsu, Although Kyoka is only a Shikai and is more versatile. Shinjis Bankai actually makes you think your allies are your enemy and basically forces you to attack them. Kyoka Suigetsu can achieve something similair but Shinjis Bankai requires no prerequisition to work(having to see Aizen do his Shikai) and Kyoka also relies on actually having to TRICK people into attacking. Its very interesting

I think Shinji as a character was not made in the theme of direction switching but in the theme of deceiving. It makes sense, Shinji turns everything upside down and deceives enemies. Just like in the bankai, he deceives everyone and makes them fight each other.
The irony of his bankai. Very reminiscent of when he and the other Vizards turned into hollows for the first time and was attacking their fellow Shinigamis.

I have a hacking building in cyberpunk that does basically just that. my build has 2 hacks which are like techno magic. one is suicide and the other makes enemies go crazy, the best part is it can jump to other enemies and has a fairly short cool down. making it possible for me to turn all my enemies against each other.

well it's not so much that they forget. the enemies think that shinji is their friend while their initial allies are enemies. So they not only fight each other, but they will defend Shinji.

I always assumed it was a condition of their reinstatement that they not use their hollow masks anymore. That said, I would say given the severity of the Quincy invasion. That the use of those masks would have been encouraged as hollow powers are toxic to the Quincy.

The two bankais I am most excited to see animated are Shinji's and Rukia's. Rukia especially. Her bankai form in the manga is really beautiful and it's gonna be so nice animated. Bleach has been my favorite anime since I 1st saw it in 2007. I'm so happy we're getting TYBW and with it's success we may see CFYOW animated. Plus, Kubo is supposed to be working on the Hell Arc, which will introduce the original Gotei 13 as the villains. Gonna be a massacre!

It’s not talked about enough, but Shinji’s Shikai has the potential to inverse way more than just your sense of direction. Sakanade can mess up someone’s perception of things overall, so if trained for it, could do it with your perception of temperature, way, pain, etc

About his shikai it’s not just the sense of direction. He’s trained and he can make mess up other senses as well like hot and cold etc.

well it's not so much that they forget. the enemies think that shinji is their friend while their initial allies are enemies. So they not only fight each other, but they will defend Shinji.
It's basically Tsukishima's fullbringer ability without the extra steps
@@astwas well lol shinji can't select who is affected by it so if his allies are their then the opposite happens. so his allies would all see themselves as enemies including shinji. that's why kubo shows all his allies on the ground dead or unconscious because Shinji is banned from using this bankai in the sereitei for this reason unless there's nobody nearby. same with shunshui's ability and others that have an AoE effect that can negatively hurt allies.
book of the end is much more specific, selective, and you can make them think whatever you want comparatively. shinjis is specifically for killing.

I always assumed it was a condition of their reinstatement that they not use their hollow masks anymore. That said, I would say given the severity of the Quincy invasion. That the use of those masks would have been encouraged as hollow powers are toxic to the Quincy.
@@stevejamieson8468 I dont want to believe that they would have been so stupid so as to not consider using their hollow powers which they have been developing for a century during a full scale invasion with thousands dying just because of a stupid stipulation. Also if there was a stipulation no way it was a big thing at all because Mahsiro whipped out her hollow mask to train that one lieutenant with Kensei. If the stipulation had been lifted post invasion then the story clearly doesn't give a fuck about it because it never bothered to show us. To me it just feels like the story didn't want them to use hollow masks against quincies at the moment and didn't bother to think whether it makes sense or not

Also the one kenpachi name is kuruyashiki. His bankai can devour literally everything. His shikai creates mouth creatures things that devour everything

Shinji is a one man army. Had shinji still been a captain during the hueco Mundo arc he could have solo the Espada by using his bankai to have them kill each other. Shinji would be the gotei 13s best offensive weapon if used for insertion of enemy territory.

The two bankais I am most excited to see animated are Shinji's and Rukia's. Rukia especially. Her bankai form in the manga is really beautiful and it's gonna be so nice animated. Bleach has been my favorite anime since I 1st saw it in 2007. I'm so happy we're getting TYBW and with it's success we may see CFYOW animated. Plus, Kubo is supposed to be working on the Hell Arc, which will introduce the original Gotei 13 as the villains. Gonna be a massacre!

That is not completely true about shinji bankai, yes his bankai will make people affected forget about who is their ally and foe but the strongest one will remain then if shinji could not defeat him that is useless that's why his bankai only good to clear tons of minions but not the boss level
I mean, the bankai inverts who you consider ally and foe, if Shinji is their foe they will him as an ally no matter what, shinji could just walk to them and end it right there with a single strike since they won't recognize Shinji as an enemy

Like when shinji starts walking toward them they will have some kind of internal dialog being all confused about what's going on and then maybe come up with some way to counter it. @@HotMonkeyDik I mean, taking into consideration Kyouka Suigetsu had a similar ability that made the Gotei 13 see one of their own allies as Aizen and they couldn't realize until Aizen himself unmade the illusion that is hard to think, even more because we don't know really how hard is the reversal, is it like aizen and see their allies as some enemy, do they lose all logic and can't help but try to kill their allies and ignore their foes. The mass hypnosis on the bankai was never fully explained so i hope the Anime can clear it up. Although i could see them nerfing it to be how you described it, after all the Bankai is just too strong if it works as i think it does

It’s not talked about enough, but Shinji’s Shikai has the potential to inverse way more than just your sense of direction. Sakanade can mess up someone’s perception of things overall, so if trained for it, could do it with your perception of temperature, way, pain, etc
Shinjis shikai is basically zoro normal
Zoro power up basically Zaraki base with one eye patch.
When bankai has a long name or multiple parts of that name it just insanely OP
