True. He is like a walking contradictions. Open to variables, setting things up on every possible situations and encounters. Definitely the most interesting character.
This was a beautifully made piece as usual, and thanks for illustrating the philosphies behind each character. The ideas, themes, and philosophies you've discovered gives me an even deeper appreciation for Bleach and Kubo as an author. Thank you.

Isshin, and the rest of the Shiba clan for that matter, have an almost complete lack of videos dedicated to them. Which is strange since I think the Shibas are one of the more interesting families in Bleach.
There isn't all that much to him, sadly. He's one of the characters who got shafted thanks to the strained relations between the Jump manga machine and Kubo.

There definitely needs to be a series pertaining to Kisuke's origins and his time on the Stealth Force with Yoruichi, sure it may leave some of us seeing them from a darker lens since they were essentially carrying out the aristocracy's dirty work(Tokinada made that perfectly clear when he talked of Soifon's brothers being sacrificed as part of their power games)but still, it ties in to the series' key theme.
Yea making another prequel bleach manga where it focused on the schemes of early gotei 13 members and the conflicts wouldve been so much better than what we truly get-burn the witch. Gosh i swear taito wouldve generated more money if he made a bleach gotei 13 prequel

Ichigo kinda feels like deus ex machina. First he has potential for been a shinigami then surprise he is stronger than a trained shinigami, then they need a quincy and uryu was out of the picture. Hey Ichigo is half quincy, then they need something to beat a specific enemy, hey Ichigo can mix quincy powers with shinigami powers. Then there is this hability called bankai and he needs to awaken a deeper state, guess Ichigo could do it. Then there are this things called huecos and guess who can also use their powers? I appreciate the content as always a big fan of your content and can't wait for more.
Good analysis again. Really illuminated the maturity in his character that I didn't really pick up on or at least focus on personally. Put a spotlight on both sides to Urahara. Yes he isn't very forthcoming with his plans pretty much ever, but his intentions are always virtuous.
Yamamoto: Alright captains pool in your energy to this sword, and Kyoraku I know how much you got so don't be slick! You too toshiro, your a grown man so pay up like one!
Urahara is a rare character to me, the writing of his character shows the burden of being of such high intelligence that you are actually alone. Not the "woe is me ignorance is bliss" type that so many people delude themselves into but the fact that Even at the end of Aizens arc he declares that even in his near god form Urahara's intelligence and intellect eclipse his own..this is aizen, a man who played puppet master with the entire soul society, stating that in a battle of wits he is legitimately hopeless to win against Urahara. As such Urahara is aware of dangers that the rest of the Gotei 13 wouldnt even deem possible. He is told to sit down and be quiet, he is insulting his underling when in reality he is the ONLY one taking the threat seriously. No one else has a chance of grasping what is happening. Urahara is on an island with almost literally no one that can actually stand beside him.
I have to agree: Urahara is just such an amazing character, it's a shame that many answers about him have been left unanswered. And hey, since you also think as him as your favorite character, how about we have a Yoruichi analysis as well? You did the best boy's analysis, now we should have the best girl's analysis.

Big fan of Urahara. One part that really had me cracking up was when he was fighting Yammy, and used the gigai on him. And he goes, "Lord Aizen is gonna be mad at you." In dub, it's soooo funny the way that he says it. Opposed from the MC Ichigo, Kisuke is my fav. And we won't be talking about Yoruichi 😍 I was never really attracted to animated characters, but good God she is absolutely perfect.

One small consideration I would add is that Urahara plays some roles in movies and anime only arcs and his relationship with Soul Society is a bit different compared to the manga. Like, after Bount Arc, SS members in general aren't so uncomfortable around him and he doesn't seems to be so afraid of meeting them. I think that anime team made a great job of portraying him without being much OOC there, he is definitely much more likable in anime. I would love to have a bit of these anime-only details in some part of the video, I know that the canonicity is debatable, but is the medium most of us know the characters, anyway.

@@richardtasden4417 all progress has consequences just like all choices do too...
Urahara love to invent something new but also scared of his own invention.
This is the only character in the anime universe that afraid of his own intelligence.
True. He is like a walking contradictions. Open to variables, setting things up on every possible situations and encounters. Definitely the most interesting character.
I can't believe 80% of this legends views aren't even subscribed- could never be me though
Same
I was thinking the same.
Fr. Imagine not subscribing to this absolute GOAT.
This was a beautifully made piece as usual, and thanks for illustrating the philosphies behind each character. The ideas, themes, and philosophies you've discovered gives me an even deeper appreciation for Bleach and Kubo as an author. Thank you.
Rest in peace kisuke English VA. You did a fantastic job voicing him. You will be missed. 🙏🙏🙏
Yup rip Michael Lindsay
Wait, he died?! I didn't know that- what from?
@Barack Obama not today, Barack Obama!
I had no idea until reading this comment😢
Aizen holds Kisuke in high regard. Aizen does. Aizen.
That means ALOT.
I swear out of everyone covering Bleach’s characters and concepts your break downs are so accurate and well done. They keep me intrigued throughout the whole video. I hope everyone subscribes now or in the near future.

People are stoked for it. MrTommo went from like 700 to 50,000 since they announced the anime is coming back. Hope all these hardcore fans get more subs from it.
guess what
I heard that originally, Kisuke was supposed to be the ultimate villian that Aizan was, but in the end, Kubo decided to switch the rolls of Kisuke and Aizen.
Would make more sense. He was banished and exiled by the entire Soul Society
Wonder if that meant Yoruichi would have been a villan as well. Though I mean really the majority of the Shinigami are bad people.
"The weapon that could win in any battle: Knowledge." This quotes describes Kisuke Urahara perfectly .
A Ishin kurosaki character analysis would be nice
Isshin, and the rest of the Shiba clan for that matter, have an almost complete lack of videos dedicated to them. Which is strange since I think the Shibas are one of the more interesting families in Bleach.
There isn't all that much to him, sadly. He's one of the characters who got shafted thanks to the strained relations between the Jump manga machine and Kubo.
I’m surprised no one has commented about Philza’s skin being this character
I seriously can’t believe I haven’t noticed this until NOW!
ik
Now it explains why the lore in Dream SMP, he is friends with Technoblade-
@Yuziferry BRKDKSJ stfu
Just figured out where he came from
Kisuke is amazing honestly one of the most lovable laid back badass characters of all shounen
Kisuke Urahara the only person Aizen respected and feared.
Aslo he trolled Aizen after ichigo beats him
Truly terrifying people but very human compared to Aizen
Aizen was scared shitless from Yamamoto
Urahara Kisuke and Shihoin Yoruichi are 2 of the best written and mysterious Bleach characters. I'm glad they were expounded upon more on CFYOW
Urahara said if the soul society ever considered him a treat he would go all out.
when did he said that
@@markuss5367 at the end of cant fear your own world.
@@misaelolvera2995 thanks
He's probably one of the maybe 5-10 soul reapers that actually stand a chance as "1 VS Soul Society", with Ichigo, Kenpachi, and a couple others.
@@louisrobitaille5810 agree with his power his intellect and his inventions he could create moore destruction than aizen that is why everybody in soul society respects and fears they dont want him as enemy and shunsui as leader of gotei 13 is intelligent he isnt impulsive he wont cross urahara he cnows him too well
The more I learn about Urahara the more he becomes a favorite character of mine. Hearing how he immediately started looking into restoring Ichigo’s powers and how emotional he was to not be exiled is so touching. If Aizen is the evil reflection of cold uncaring intelligence and ambition then Urahara is the opposite of being shady yet genuinely well meaning good.
A long Urahara video around 6am.
Unpredictable.....just like Urahara 😌
Urahara is the defintion of laid back chill guy that is actually a sick badass on the inside.
@@babyaskin9881 That would be epic. I would like to see one on the rise of early Gotei 13 and the ancestors with their do anything for themselves attitude. It will give context as to why the worlds are the way they are.
@@babyaskin9881 agree
No, it doesn't need to be.
One of the best characters in bleach that we all wish we had more screen time, but that what makes him special, when he shows up stuff get serious.
Subbed on my tablet , phone and laptop accounts .
Thank you for all the true work.
Kisuke is my second favorite , Shunsui being first.
Both sandle , unique cloak/Jacket and hat wearing Shinigami.
I remember the Quincy had branded Kisuke a war threat basically for "Unknown reasons"
Which basically means the Quincy was like we need to account for his bad ass nature , no other reasons required .
I know im going to enjoy this . Thank you Mr DbzImran :D
Love this character. Smart, funny, and strong.
Hes the Obi-wan Kenobi of bleach with a good promising padawan.
Oh we talking bout kisuke?!!? The GOAT 🐐 u heard it here first
I would love an Ichigo analysis! Very underrated shounen protagonist in my opinion.
Yes i think so too he is Very underrated but i believe Jaymes hanson also made a really great video. ICHIGO KUROSAKI CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
I agree it would be nice to see a character analysis of naruto and luffy characters and what being hokage and Pirate King Means for them.
Yeah need more Ichigo appreciation video
Ichigo kinda feels like deus ex machina. First he has potential for been a shinigami then surprise he is stronger than a trained shinigami, then they need a quincy and uryu was out of the picture. Hey Ichigo is half quincy, then they need something to beat a specific enemy, hey Ichigo can mix quincy powers with shinigami powers. Then there is this hability called bankai and he needs to awaken a deeper state, guess Ichigo could do it. Then there are this things called huecos and guess who can also use their powers?
Ichigo is the stereotypical guy who can do everything... If this was a hentai, Ichigo will have a harem by doing nothing.
@@Hitoshura9999 you stopped making sense lol. By your logic everysingle top shonen Protagnist is DEUS EXMACHINE. Not to mention THIS HAS BEEN DEBUNKED COUNTLESS TIMES.
I love the analysis from you as always deep-diving into some of my favorite anime characters. I'd love to see an analysis of Yoruichi I feel like other than Kisuke she is the next most mysterious character. More so on her motives and what her development as a character is like in the series. I appreciate the content as always a big fan of your content and can't wait for more.
A character analysis for my favorite Bleach character. I've waited a long time for this one
*This video is nearly an hour...hmm i'll watch some of it..
"48 minutes later" : Huh it's done already?!?!*
Love your content dude
My second favourite character in all of anime analyzed by the goat. And favorutie Bleach character. Gonna enjoy this one!
I have to agree: Urahara is just such an amazing character, it's a shame that many answers about him have been left unanswered.
And hey, since you also think as him as your favorite character, how about we have a Yoruichi analysis as well? You did the best boy's analysis, now we should have the best girl's analysis.
I honestly have grown to appreciate his character so much more after the thousand year blood war arc his is definitely on of my favorites if you can please do a video on Orihime Inoue she is my number on despite the hate she received
Inue does shit
@@frikanetwork Idk who Inue is but Inoue is amazing

Love your content man it’s a lot like Urahara calm and simple yet very intelligent and super cool hope you start covering more anime
The best character in Bleach in my opinion I love everything about his character and love the mystery to his character. The Soul Society as a whole owes this man a great debt to him and I'm sure he'd just brush it off. Great analysis thanks for this video.
Kisuke is such a nuance and unique character! I need to write someone like this into my story...
Kisuke is basically Gojo, they can finish the enemy by themselves but chose not to just so their student/s can develop and get stronger
Yeah
You mean Gojo is New Gen Urahara
The whole Aizen Arc is simply a chess game betwee Urahara and Aizen.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that even Aizen himself states that Kisuke Urahara is the only person who's intellect surpasses Aizen's.
Great video as always. Urahara is definitely one of the best characters in Bleach, and your video really illustrates why.
For a future analysis video, I would really like to see you analyse Askin. He is one of the most interesting, well written and compelling of the Sternritters, so I would really love to see a analytical video about him.
Looking forward to seeing what your next video will be!
I just can't stop watching your videos; this one is the eighth in a row. Your voice is also great and enjoyable.
The Batman of bleach!
Hope you make a video on ginjo at some point.
When you think on it kisuke and aizen are the opposite of what their zanpakuto main functions are when you break it down.
you are talking about mayuri
@@KuroRyoka no ..it's definitely Kisuke ... inspite of having inferior lab and inferior resources ..he is the one usually coming up with solutions ... Mayuri is a genius with a lot of cool drugs ready to be tested ..but the genius of perpetual adaption ..is kisuke urahara

I had no idea me and kiskue had so much in common. He has been my favorite character since his live appearance in the anime all those years ago. Now he has a whole new place in my heart.
Amazing video zimran you need a much well deserved break after this urahara is definitely one of bleachs best characters full of mystery, wit, deceptive, and the most intelligent man in the soul society said by Aizen himself.
My favorite character period in bleach 😍 love his outfit so we'll designed who does like this dude reliable
In my opinion, Turn Back the Pendulum is the single best written arc in Bleach, which shows that Kubo can be an exceptional writer when the story arc's length doesn't balloon out of his control coughArrancarcoughTYBWcough.
😐
BUT it was kinda underwhelming in animation. I wish they stretched, honed and polished that arc more.

I don't if you'll see this but my man, you make some of the best content on yt, but ngl I worry because you put out so many back to back extremely well made, thorough analysis each week to every few weeks when it's a massive 40+ min video. I hope you don't burn yourself out or exhaust yourself so much mentally to the point you don't want to do this stuff anymore. There are very few channels on this entire website who do what you to such a high degree of quality. You have real talent for this stuff which carries over into the irl when writing, screenplays, characters, scripts, etc. I just hope you are living the best life you can & taking care of yourself at the same time, because you're one of the best
Aizen 1A
Urahara 1B
Kubo literally thought about making Urahara a villain at one point.
I'm a new fan. I've been listening back through your content, I don't know if you monitor comments on 4 year old videos... I HAVE been listening to much newer content and it is STRIKING listening to this older content now... about how you describe Aizen with wanting to progress and grow and change... and Urahara as wanting too keep thing and the system the same... Like Mimihagi and Pernida. Man. Please, please, please see this and maybe revisit this video (content) trend that is SO relevant to Thousand-Year Blood War arc.

Bruh this story bruh just bruh..... the writing is just S tier+ Like on some Z tier stuff Z is a higher rating. Bleach is honestly too great ppl who say it has no plot and undeveloped characters are yikes x100000. Peak fiction
i just adore Kisuke Urahara !! this was the best character analysis !!! he brings humor & character to every scene he appears in !! :()

Always look forward to your upload notifications. Your channel and a few others are helping to get me buy until we get the return of the Bleach anime unveiled to us. Thank you bro!
Great video as always
One small consideration I would add is that Urahara plays some roles in movies and anime only arcs and his relationship with Soul Society is a bit different compared to the manga. Like, after Bount Arc, SS members in general aren't so uncomfortable around him and he doesn't seems to be so afraid of meeting them. I think that anime team made a great job of portraying him without being much OOC there, he is definitely much more likable in anime.
I would love to have a bit of these anime-only details in some part of the video, I know that the canonicity is debatable, but is the medium most of us know the characters, anyway.
I've been waiting for this video for a long time and it didn't disappoint

My favourite person in Bleach... Your analysis and voice is soo satisfying... It's so fascinating how 12th division management changed! From motherly affection towards the subordinates (Hikifune) to just using them as test subjects (Mayuri)..! Oh I honestly think Urahara is capable of becoming Zero division member out of all the current generation members..!
