Yamamoto: your blades are the only dual wield zanpakuto’s in the entire history of soul society. Ichigo: I’m finna do what’s called a p r o g a m e r m o v e.
Yamamoto's development was amazing throughout the story. The way he softens up throughout the series and his brutal end at a time in the story where everything was hopeless is all wonderfully poetic. My favorite moment of his is ordering the shinigami to pour their reiatsu into the sword that would give Ichigo his powers back. That moment solidifies the way he changed
It would be funny to see Isshin Shiba meeting Yamamoto after those years. Before he would be executed, today he would be yelled at like when three captains lost their clothes in HM. Or maybe Yamamoto would fatherly beat a crap of Isshin.
@@squilliamfreakyson It definitely matters💀 Yhwach killing a heavily fatigued, one-armed Yama isn’t really too impressive. And it isn’t an anti-feat for Yama either
The death of Yamamoto reminds me of the death of Whitebeard. Both men died standing, never backing down. I will admit, initially I thought he was a Dick, and in a way he kinda was, but he was loyal to Soul Society and cared about his subordinates. In the end he did not die begging or making excuses. He died fighting like true warrior.
I mean, you say that he died like a true warrior, but it's funny that Yuha calls him out for dying in such a pathetic way (Yamamoto got escencially backstapped by the real Yuha Bach) because A. His emotions got the better of him. Because he lost his shit when fighting the fake yuha, he couldn't think clearly and B. He was too stuborn and arrogant to ask for the humans like Ichigo or Orihime some help or hell even Mayuri, who could've healed his arm. Even though Yamamoto is no doubt the strongest shinigami, his weakness is his arrogance and emotions, something trully poetic because he used to be the most ruthless and heartless killer in all of soul society history, and now died the way he did... Another good analysis. I love Yamamoto's bankai. His shikai feels like anger wildly out of control and everywhere but his bankai is a concentrated rage focused to annihilate his enemy. It's the difference between an angry outbursts and flailing about and that killer edge where all your negativity is well focused on a single goal. It's quite frightening
Yama-ji s Bankai is one of the deal sealers of Bleach as a great shonen, great idea for his ability, phenomenal illustration when its activated, extremely intimidating and dangerous as hell. I don't like Yama-ji as a character as much as i fiercely love his bond with Komamura, Shunsui, Ukitake, and his dead serious respect he has for Azashiro. Yama-ji s powers and battles always convey a no-joke atmosphere wich i'm thankful it's available to witness whenever i want. His fight with false Yhwach is stellar. @nathaninostroza7655 Yamamoto rarely gets screen time and when he's on; you can feel that commanding presence of him. man, I can't even begin to imagine the sheer power and feeling of the soundtrack in Yama's last battle. Also I hope we get to see more of the first quincy war in the anime, along with any other thing Kubo wants to add to it and could not in the manga format and pace
Every time someone fought Yamamoto they could not fight him head on because he was simply too powerful. They had to have a way to get around his bankai. Yamamoto is a relatively distant character in the series that is representative of the soul society, but a badass that could not win the battles he fought against the main villians. I feel like if I were to say that I wanted even more of his past than I already have, it'd almost be like saying I just want more history of the Soul Society.
I went in with Yamamoto being an old, smug paper tiger with no redeeming qualities, but as the series went on- it becomes clear he’s not only badass, but a flawed man that was trying to redeem himself in rather convoluted means by becoming extremely by the book. It was genuinely a shame that he died just as he was starting to really become likable with an interesting backstory, but he’s truly disrespected by his enemy who does him in the worst way imaginable. It is pitiful that he was defeated and then forgotten about in the overall narrative for the sake of Ichigo’s revenge plot aside from Sajin and Kyoraku.
Yamamoto was so strong and formidable that the enemies of the Soul Society literally planned their strategies around distracting the head captain and either stealing or sealing his power, instead of facing him in a head on fight... Even other "old master" characters from other shows, like Master Roshi or the 3rd Hokage, are eventually defeated or left behind by the powerscaling of the series (often in order to show off the main character's power), but Yamamoto never really was. To know your allies strength you must look to how your enemies treat them; Yamamoto was a beast of a warrior wielding power like a force of nature.
His death was truly emotional I felt a lot of things but in the end, I knew he had an amazing legacy and was more than just their head captain. Fire content as always, DBZimran does not disappoint I swear.
Old man Yama is easily in my top 3 favorite characters - only thing I would have liked would have been the first fight between him and Ywach, some additional info about his backstory, and a massive fight where his full capabilities could have been fleshed out - him getting his bankai casually stolen felt kind of flat to me given his ridiculous power levels
I loved all the Gotei 13 since their Debut and it absolutely bummed me out when any one of them died especially Yamamoto the old man was in my mind almost unstoppable
Simply put, never cross paths with this guy when he unsheathes his sword. This man truly is a beast. His bankai is so OP its ridiculous. Great video 10/10.
@@louisrobitaille5810 did we see Ichigo’s Bankai? Oh Yh Bach destroyed it so actually jokes on you. He broke his bankai and took Yama’s instead so jokes on you 🤣
@@shahzabeshah7304 We never saw its ability because it scared the Almighty Yhwach af. Even without stealing it, he didn't give a shit about Genryuusai's bankai. Also he can't steal Ichigo's bankai because his asauchi is a hollow.
My theory on the general shape/appearance of Zanka no Tachi is that when he first developed his Bankai it used to be compressed into the whole blade itself, but over the millennia, while improving his Bankai, compressed its whole power onto the tip of the blade, leaving the rest of the sword a charred vestige of what it used to look like. That's my thought at least.
One of my favourite scenes in the Manga was when he was being attacked by his vice captions banking, which was being used by a Quincy, and after the barrage. He is furious, and apologies to his vice captain, saying that his bankai, was not this weak. And killed the Quincy easily.
All those years ago, even though the music was so on point, all of the fights were gratifying and well written. The strongest single reason that I continued to watch bleach through all the filler, through all the slow episodes, and all of the unending anticipation, was to see the head captains bankai. And I was not disappointed
my only regret on this character is that we haven seen him in an even fight, where he could demonstrate all of his power. With Aizen or during the war they always had a trick to deal with him, wich make perfect sense, but I still got this little regret. i'd love to ee a short story on his original fight with yhwach
@@t-god2439 bro we should be friends haha I feel the same way about this two. With Yama they always restricted his abilities and with Kakashi it was unfortunate writing (we was always only fighting enemies Naruto HAD TO defeat.. so by plot he couldn't win)
@@magamakhauri3077 I have this idea that I wish manga writers would do for fans after the manga/ anime is finished. I wish they would do something I call dream fights. Where we get to see two characters go all out at it. I figure the writer having made the charters would understand the full scope of their abilities and character traits. Man it would finally put an end to so many forum debates. And imo would be better than death battle even tho I do like death battle
Yamamoto is such a compelling character that, despite the fact he was a good chunk of scree time, it feels like we are only scratching the surface with him. A Bleach prequel following the evens of the original war would be very much appreciated.
He's a true legacy character of the series as a whole. Be it his somewhat moderating present self or the utterly ruthless past self, he has left a searing mark. As much as I hate to say this his death was a milestone that marked a transition for Gotei 13. Now with Shunsui at the reigns in the war's aftermath there has been a number of reforms that NEVER would've happened under Yamamoto's watch. Sure you can mark it as them being humbled by their chickens coming home to roost but in the end things needed to change with or without Yamamoto's input. Still old man Yama's badass legacy will be difficult to challenge.
Yama: ok gotei im going to use the move that kills everything and everyone. It’s my only choice. Gotei: We didn’t discuss this at all commander, can you just use zanka no tachi first please? That really should be enough sir. At least we all have a chance to survive that. Oh, thanks wonderweiss, good looking out.
I think it's implied that Zanka no Tachi would've killed the humans outside of fake karakura. You know, since bringing a sun on Earth would probably wipe out most humans nearby.

Its crazy how characters like Yamamoto have scrubbed from mainstream media and honestly life in general. I wanna have this kinda strength to guide others.
15:45 not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I think Kubo had hinted at Yamamoto losing his left arm in this panel. It's wreathed in flames. and at 25:14 you can see that the same part that was wreathed in flames is the part that was damaged in defending against that explosion.

I truly believe to fully appreciate this wonderful series people NEED to see your videos. Like always, I look forward to your next video and thank you again for creating this art.
The one storyline I hated to my core. Yamamoto was always my favorite from the anime and once I read the manga and saw him die, it hit me almost as hard as Pervy Sensei...
Would love to see a special OVA about the founding members of the Gotei 13 and the youth of Yamamoto like they did for Raoh, Toki and Ken for Hokuto no Ken
Yamamoto destroys everyone in a fair 1v1, including ichigo, yuha bach, and aizen. however, his biggest weakness is his PRIDE. All those years as the strongest shinigami has made him much too prideful and left him blind in one eye. Although yamamoto did have somewhat of a change of heart after witnessing ichigos deeds, yama still couldnt overcome his pride. Refused any help from anyone.
Even though he was probably the strongest shinigami in the whole Soul Society, but as a Captain General he is the worst leader you can have. He was so oblivious and ignorant to things that went around him. He couldn't foresee Aizen schemes and thanks to him he lost so many high ranking figures of Soul Society. The first Aizen's plot he lost: The Visored (4 Captains, 3 Adjutants, and 1 Assistant Commander of Kidou Corps), exiling 2 Captains and 1 Commander of Kidou Corps. The second Aizen's plot he lost: All of the Central 46 and 3 Captains defected including Aizen. (Not to mention that he almost executed the innocent Rukia along the way.) The third Aizen's scheme he stupidly (same goes for Urahara) not arranged special protection of Orihime despite her special abilities, branded her as a traitor which make things more difficult between Ichigo and Shinigami, thanks to that, Aizen could perfected Hougyoku to invade Karakura thus Yamamoto himself died because of it. For single conspiracy known in the manga during his time, he created the worst military and political blunder there was. It's perfectly fit with your nickname "Yamamoto Genryusai: THE BEAST", like the Beast itself; he was mad strong but mad obtuse too.
Very much a case of 'good soldiers don't make always make good leaders'. He very much lacks any ability to critically think, and chastises Ukitake/Kyoraku for doing exactly that when they smell something fishy going on. I get what they're trying to do with Yamamoto. Its because he's so powerful that he feels the need to strictly follow the rules because if he starts turning them over on a whim, how can he expect everyone else to obey them. Elsewise it becomes a case of 'Do as I say, not as I do'.
Yamamoto would be proud of the Biography work you did for him and the Captains...Well done...Good Stuff..and Yeah cool INTRO..liked the music how it connected with the clip..
Usually characters like this then to become less badass as the show progresses because pf power creep but bleach manage to respect Yamamoto through the entire show having but op antagonist considering him a real obstacle that has to be taken into account even with how powerful they become
I want to point out that we have never seen Yamamoto lose a fair fight. He seemingly can only ever be beaten by dirty tricks and MAYBE Ichigo. That’s it. I mean his flames are so hot they can temporarily resurrect the dead to fight for him.

Yamamoto is a relatively distant character in the series that is representative of the soul society, but a badass that could not win the battles he fought against the main villians. I feel like if I were to say that I wanted even more of his past than I already have, it'd almost be like saying I just want more history of the Soul Society.
One Piece: Oldies were devastating in their prime state
Bleach's Yamamoto: Aight, hold my beer.
Yamato should be titled : the most idealized, conservative persona of soul society. Like Aizen said
I went in with Yamamoto being an old, smug paper tiger with no redeeming qualities, but as the series went on- it becomes clear he’s not only badass, but a flawed man that was trying to redeem himself in rather convoluted means by becoming extremely by the book.
I didnt plan to cry today, then this video happened
Old man Yama is easily in my top 3 favorite characters - only thing I would have liked would have been the first fight between him and Ywach, some additional info about his backstory, and a massive fight where his full capabilities could have been fleshed out - him getting his bankai casually stolen felt kind of flat to me given his ridiculous power levels
Man you single handily restore my love of bleach thank you
I loved all the Gotei 13 since their Debut and it absolutely bummed me out when any one of them died especially Yamamoto the old man was in my mind almost unstoppable
Simply put, never cross paths with this guy when he unsheathes his sword. This man truly is a beast. His bankai is so OP its ridiculous.
Great video 10/10.
Jokes on you, Ichigo's bankai is much stronger 😝
That's my thought at least.
it's weird how people shit on Bleach when every character in the show has more development than the current top 5 shounen anime combined.
Yupp that’s why I love
I see no lies
So true
Who shits on bleach?
@@vegetamegadisk a lot of ppl don’t like it cuz they say ichigo has “plot armor”
Kinda like how they also handicapped Kakashi I feel your pain
@@t-god2439 bro we should be friends haha
I feel the same way about this two.
@@t-god2439 that would be so awesome. Honestly even if my favourite does lose such a fight I'll be happy as long as they show their true potential
@@t-god2439 and not this I know a 1000 jutsu but limited in chakra so my opponents live
The fact that not even Aizen and Yhwach dared to fight him one-on-one fairly tells you how incredibly scary and powerful Yamamoto is.
I’m at work, but I literally jumped for joy and yelled......people looked.....idc though, I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL IM OFF WORK

Omg that edit at the beginning was amazing
Yamamoto is such a compelling character that, despite the fact he was a good chunk of scree time, it feels like we are only scratching the surface with him. A Bleach prequel following the evens of the original war would be very much appreciated.
The editing is just amazing. “Papa kiss.”
Man been waiting on the utter legend of bleach to be covered. Glad to see your flare on the man that just threw an arm away like DONT NEED IT
Yama: ok gotei im going to use the move that kills everything and everyone.
Amazing work. Didn't even realize the video is 45 min long. Also great use of the background music
Imma watch this tomorrow. You're channel is growing and I'm happy that you're getting the views and recognition you deserve for your hard work!! Keep 'em coming!!
the moment you react and dig deep with my old an YAMAMOTO u gained my subs, but the fact that u include other old man and all of them is my favorite anime... u gain my like and respect! thank you bro... this is epic!
Finally a video on old man Yama!
Ugh my heart burns right now. So many feelings rushing back. Excellent video my man.
you're videos bring so much joy to my life
Finally I’ve been waiting for this 1
I have no words but to say this character is badass and inspiring. Thank you DBZimran and congrats on the 100000 subscribers.
I was hoping for this video. For someone who is not in the series much, Yamamoto is remarkably complex.
Amazing analysis your accent makes it much better
I want Kubo to expand more on him and his relation to the gotie 13 now that with the Hell Arc stating Yamamato is in hell and he is not recreated as soul energy.
Whenever I see a new character with fire powers, I cannot help but compare them to old man Yama 🔥🔥🗡️ 🔥🔥
gone but not forgotten even shunsui even said to his fellow captains if yamamoto were still around here he will tell you not to mourn over him
Yamamoto is one of the greatest characters.
Best anime old character and one of the best senior characters ever. His death haunted me.
Was watching a video of old men playing checkers... But this seems a much better use of my time
this is the second time ive watched this video yamma G is one of my favorite characters deserving respect thought not only in the bleach universe but though anime and manga period there was no doubt from the beginning of the fight it was going to be epic and that it was going to be his last it was awesome to see that the only one strong enough to take him out was himself just like king barrgan and like everyone else id love to see there first fight 1000 years ago were he won and took him a 1000 years to recover and cheat his way to victory the second time around thank you for this video its much appreciated
That was certainly an amazing short yet epic AMV
Kenpachi is my fav captain but Yamamoto is the real OG GOAT!
Its crazy how characters like Yamamoto have scrubbed from mainstream media and honestly life in general. I wanna have this kinda strength to guide others.
Every analysis you do just sends chills throughout my body. Can’t wait for the anime to return. Well done Dbzimran
15:45 not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I think Kubo had hinted at Yamamoto losing his left arm in this panel. It's wreathed in flames.
and at 25:14 you can see that the same part that was wreathed in flames is the part that was damaged in defending against that explosion.
I teared up man... great narration and video
Bleach has BY FAR the best background music! When that choir starts in like it did in this video you know something cool is about to happen!
I am hoping and praying we get a flashback fight between yamamoto and yhwach. Full power yhwach, almighty and all, and yound yama. Thatd be so sick
After listening to you talk about one of the best characters in Bleach and in my opinion the GOAT of old men in anime Head Captain Yamamoto I am now subscribing to your channel. Good content. Keep it up.
45 min of imran's greatness
This is by far the best head captain video that I have ever seen. You Sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I look forward to seeing more awesome videos.
A character is a thought from the autor, u need to understand him before judging if he is well wrote, like an human, thats why reading again is important to understand each characters kubo did. Thanks for the video as always good sir
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH!!!! You and MrTommo are my favorite Bleach RUclipsrs, and you two are legit the only ones deserving of being Captains in my eyes. Yamamoto is tied with Sajin as my second favorite character, and like always you did him great justice in your video analysis. For anyone who says Bleach is a poorly written series I always implore them to check out any of your videos. They are always so beautifully written with an incredibly intelligent perspective and ideas on the series as a whole. Bleach has always been my favorite series for over a decade now, but your videos always reignite my passion for the series and they always teach me so much I didn't know. I truly believe to fully appreciate this wonderful series people NEED to see your videos. Like always, I look forward to your next video and thank you again for creating this art.
Swear to god this guy is one of the most badass anime characters
The one storyline I hated to my core. Yamamoto was always my favorite from the anime and once I read the manga and saw him die, it hit me almost as hard as Pervy Sensei...
Would love to see a special OVA about the founding members of the Gotei 13 and the youth of Yamamoto like they did for Raoh, Toki and Ken for Hokuto no Ken
These are the types of videos that impact you like the anime does itself. It's a talent.
Yamamoto is goated bro🐐
Makes you wonder why Orihime never restored his arm, considering she 100% could have done it, just like she did with Grimmjow.
He politely refused
(Not to mention that he almost executed the innocent Rukia along the way.)
The third Aizen's scheme he stupidly (same goes for Urahara) not arranged special protection of Orihime despite her special abilities, branded her as a traitor which make things more difficult between Ichigo and Shinigami, thanks to that, Aizen could perfected Hougyoku to invade Karakura thus Yamamoto himself died because of it.
For single conspiracy known in the manga during his time, he created the worst military and political blunder there was. It's perfectly fit with your nickname "Yamamoto Genryusai: THE BEAST", like the Beast itself; he was mad strong but mad obtuse too.
He was mad stupid 😂
Very much a case of 'good soldiers don't make always make good leaders'.
He very much lacks any ability to critically think, and chastises Ukitake/Kyoraku for doing exactly that when they smell something fishy going on. I get what they're trying to do with Yamamoto. Its because he's so powerful that he feels the need to strictly follow the rules because if he starts turning them over on a whim, how can he expect everyone else to obey them. Elsewise it becomes a case of 'Do as I say, not as I do'.
I'm so curious to how savage the Soul Society was before the 1st Quincy War, almost like a Turn Back the Pendulum Arc for how things truly began.
What a fantastic old man. I love his story so much, it was shocking and devastating to see him killed.
He was a well written charecter and Truely great
I want to point out that we have never seen Yamamoto lose a fair fight. He seemingly can only ever be beaten by dirty tricks and MAYBE Ichigo. That’s it. I mean his flames are so hot they can temporarily resurrect the dead to fight for him.
God I would reaaaaally love it if you do this kind of video for Gintama Characters. Seriously tho, this video is soooo well made, I kinda imagined you covered the life of Utsuro from Gintama in this kind of video essay
One of my favorite lines from a soulfly song "id rather die standing on feet, then living on my knees!" So good....cool to see that quote here too 😉
I know it's going to be painful to hear Kyouraku's scream when the anime gets there.
10 seconds in thumbs up because I’ve been waiting for this man to do yamamoto
I cried at the end😭
Your narration is superb 👍
