Kubo is one talented author. The man can write emotion through character expressions. Bazz B had this self belief he's the most gifted while in reality Jugram is the most gifted when Ywach revealed the truth. Thus shattered Bazz B's ego and self belief and grew to resent his former friend. Jugram went from a timid and shy boy to a confident and respected man loyal to Ywach.
Hashwalt may have been the favoured successor of the Quincy but when you look back all the way to Soul Society arc it's easy to tell why Uryu was chosen. I love the Balance but Ywach made Haschwalt's entire existence relevant.

It’s comments like these that confirm my theory of Kubo not writing this by himself. I feel he was given this script by a group of elites incorporating the Bible and astrology. I always got the feeling that Jugram was being sexually assaulted by his uncle, I read a translation where his uncle called him my "cute" Jugo, and with that look on Jugrams face when he said that too. And then when Yhawach took his powers at the end of his and Uryu's fight, he just gave up. He was a man who was used and abused by someone close to him, only to go to a man who did the exact same thing. Kind of fucked up.
In l Bleach Can't Fear Your Own World, Haschwalth is revealed to have ordered his aide to save the lives of Liltotto Lamperd, Giselle Gewelle, Bambietta Basterbine, and any remaining Soldat should Yhwach be defeated. According to his aide, Haschwalth gave the order while in the possession of The Almighty, and declared that the future he saw meant the Quincy race had to be preserved no matter what probaly referencing the hell arc
Not gonna lie his character wasn't even all that. Hope the anime does him some justice. For what hes suppose to be, Ywachs right hand, he wasnt very imposing
Haschwalth as portrayed in the manga always struck me as the supreme stickler for the rules and a huge simp for authority, he's the co-worker that rats you out to your boss immediately and with no hesitation despite being friendly with you. The fact that Yhwach was the first to make him feel needed does explain Jugram's loyalty though. What you failed to mention is more interesting though - it's been established that Jugram deliberately fed Yhwach the vision of the future of Yhwach being killed disguised as a dream, so that Yhwach would disregard it until it was too late. He also ordered the evacuation of Silbern before his death, knowing what would happen, and in his last moments worked to preserve the Quincy. Despite feeling an overwhelming sense of loyalty towards Yhwach, he couldn't keep disregarding what a destructive piece of shit Yhwach was and he realized, also thanks to visions from The Almighty, that Yhwach would be the doom of the Quincy. He didn't want that to happen, proving that he could be a kind person when needed - with all of that sadly being undermined by his inexplicable loyalty to Yhwach a lot of the time.
I'm always confused about Bazz B saying he was going to kill Yhwach knowing how impossible for him that would be, even if Yhwach was in base form without the almighty. Bazz wouldn't have a chance and he knows this.
Haschwalts saw the one real future that happend, one where they were defeated. So he decided to play both sides and notify ywach about it still remaining loyal but ywach mistook it as a nightmare and ignored it which is what jugram presumed would happen.
When yhwach calls jugram his "other half" it's bcus yhwach is the right leg of the soul King while jugram is the left leg. Yhwachs real goal was to absorb the other parts of the soul King using aswaillen(however its spellt) and rejoin with the soul Kings body Makin him full again.
Sharing and giving out power. It's been so long, I'm just realizing it reminds me of All for One and his brother. Or the other way around really, Bleach came 1st
They are not match for him, i think Kubo didnt know who to put against, so he put Ishida for story. Jugram demolish all gotei 13, he is easily top 5 in verse
Kubo is insanely good at writing characters, drawing them and executing them, thing is .. I heard from someone I can't remember his/her name, that the reason why bleach is drawn with those kinda background, blank and empty, was because Kubo was forced to write something against his will, something different that it jarred him, it emptied his vision and in the end reflected in his greatest manga to date, Bleach. Just imagine, he didn't tell us that the ability related to zanpakuto is the ability to connect with their own zanpakuto, and Ichigo couldn't do that until the very last chapters, but once he connected with his zanpakuto, his power had a tremendous increase. We were told about that so many times, but never explicitly about Ichigo, the insane amount of foreshadowing and his Ichigo character building, to me, is crazy, nothing bests him to date if we are talking about current mainstream manga. and Memories of Nobody is a very good movie.
Couldn't Uryu just use the Antithesis again when Haschwalth used his Balance? It'd basically result in a continuous uno reverse card and "no u"s until Yhwach decides to suck Haschwalth dry.
i have a theory that the balance is actually more powerful than the antithesis. just an example, uryu can’t switch an event like death, so if he gets hit by an attack that immediately kills him, he can’t really do anything (even if it is unlikely) on the other hand, jugram can control fortune absolutely, so he can manipulate whether the attack even will come and whether he will be unlucky to be hit by said attack. they’re similar attacks but i think the balance has a greater scope of power, which is how i believe he was able to overcome uryu
@@warrenfeng1570 If that's the case then so much for surpassing Yhwach's power. Why make Uryu his successor when the grandmaster has what he has but better? That said, the Antithesis reverses events between two points. Sure maybe death can't be reversed, though I don't think that had been stated, but neither was Jugram able to prevent his death with the Balance. Also, even if the damage was doubled, Uryu can just reverse it back to Haschwalth while healing himself. It all comes down to pain tolerance and stamina. Freundschild would make things tricky since any "misfortune" Jugram would suggest gets absorbed into it and released back towards the enemy, but there's gotta be something to Antithesis other than being the Balance's knock off. I mean Jugram himself acknowledged that it could potentially challenge the Almighty. The Antithesis was able to momentarily bypass the shield and damage Jugram so maybe Uryu can do one better. When Jugram hits Uryu with the double whammy of turning Uryu's good fortune into misfortune and giving Jugram's stored misfortune to him for extra damage. Uryu would attempt to reverse this with Antithesis only for Jugram to absorb the "misfortune" into the shield, Uryu would then use Antithesis to switch "events" unfolding between Jugram and the Freundschild. Ordinarily, a "misfortune" would be aimed towards the wielder, only to get absorbed by the shield and released back into the enemy. But with the Schrift active, now the "misfortune" would be aimed towards the shield, but "absorbed" by Jugram. And since he isn't equipped for that he takes damage. Realizing that Uryu can force this fight into a constant catch and toss where no one gets anywhere Jugram opts to fight Uryu using pure Quincy techniques. Given that Uryu is used to fighting this way as opposed to relying on his Schrift like most other Sternritters he actually gets the edge. Maybe we see him use Quincy spells like Kirchenlied: Sankt Zwinger, Sankt Bogen, Qualkreis, or Sankt Altar, or maybe use spells that previously required Ginto without it to show how much stronger he's gotten. Though Haschwalth isn't weak, he's far superior in close combat and his own Quincy techniques are enough to keep up with Uryu. Jugram has no choice but to activate his Vollständig. The name would probably be "Michael" (Who is like God?). It'd probably just be wings with libra scales. His halo would encircle his eyes kinda like how the Lady Justice is often depicted as blindfolded. I honestly don't know what powers he have in this form, maybe outright probability manipulation not limited to "balancing acts". So, his attacks are sure hits kinda like Lille while Uryu's are sure misses. He wonders why Uryu hadn't activated his Vollständig yet but realized he made a fatal mistake. Uryu uses Antithesis to switch their current states. Uryu, who was the one in base mode and sustaining heavy damage, is now the one in Vollständig and completely healed while Vollständig Jugram reverts back to base and sustains heavy damage. The Vollständig's name would probably be "Thaumiel" (Duality in God). Uryu displays the mastery over Sklaverei, absorbing Reishi from even the Freundschild (and sword I guess), depriving Jugram of his shield (and sword I guess). He then charges up an arrow like he did against Mayuri and finishes him off. Having been defeated, Jugram recognizes Uryu's strength and resolve as he dies reminiscing about his former friendship with Bazz. He had thrown away their friendship and Bazz's desire for vengeance by joining Yhwach, while Uryu had joined Yhwach believing this will best help his friends and fulfill his own quest for vengeance.
@@herpderp5727 i never said jugram could prevent his death, i agree with you that uryu’s schrift isn’t weak at all (of course it isn’t) but my point is that i think balance could overcome the antithesis user in a combat situation, seeing as how jugram can actually exponentially grow the damage while uryu can only return it as it’s base, yes there are other factors like the durability of the users, but in a situation where the opponents are equal in both categories i believe that the balance would be better off. that is not to say that the antithesis is less useful or weaker at all. i just meant that the balance could have a case for overcoming it and lastly, the reason why yhwach chose uryu instead of jugram who has a more combat inclined schrift, is outside of power. yhwach didn’t choose his successor based on how powerful their schrifts seemed, and we know this because there are people like gerard valkyrie and gremmy of all people. but yhwach told us why he chose uryu, it’s because uryu was special and was able to survive the auschwalen. jugram couldn’t prevent his death because he was hit by the light and lost his powers. my point is just that the balance sounds and looks like a better power because it’s been used to already overcome uryu, remember jugram was winning before he was hit by auschwalen. but the thing is i didn’t mean it was overall a better schrift than the antithesis, then again we haven’t seen enough of either to say
@@herpderp5727 there definitely has to be something else to the antithesis, but from what we saw of both, i think that the balance would be better off in those combat situations. because jugram can increase the power and grow it. eventually even if they switch it back and forth, one of them can be knocked out or killed instantly, and i think the one who can actually increase the power and unleash it first will have the better chance
I personally view Haschwalth as an eternal lackey who finally stood up for himself and did what he thought was right at the very end of his life. He's basically a more sympathetic, badass version of Peter Pettigrew.
Crazy how characters in bleach are thousands of years old. Especially characters like The Head Captain or Yhwach… how long does it take someone to age in their universe? Jugram looks like someone in their mid 20s and he’s 1000 years old. Are they babies for 10 years? Do they age that much slower? lol I must know !
I have the theory, that the aging process of Shinigamis is slower, the more Reiatsu they have. That would explain, why Yama, Shunsui, Ukitake, Unohana etc look pretty much the same as hundreds of Years prior to the story, but other Shinigami age faster, Byakuyas father seemed really old in turn back the pendulum, even though he must be way junger than Yama. For the Quincy I can only guess, that having a piece of Yhwachs Soul somehow slows down their aging, or, that the Dimension they where in has something to do with that. For Yhwach himself: He is the son of the Souls king and is because of his being a special case. I hope that helps somewhat, even though I don`t know for shure myself
Omg, when he was hunting that rabbit, could it be he was unintentionally giving that rabbit more power which allowed it the speed to avoid his attacks?
“My sweet Jugo” ? That’s not just physical & mental abuse my friend. That’s indicative of sexual abuse. The title itself isn’t just a term of endearment, but is probably a romantic one as well.
Baz whole beef with jugo makes no sense. Y would he b angry that jugo got picked 4 rite hand; wouldn't that jus make their goal the same either way? Wasn't the whole game 2 infiltrate yhwachs army in order 2 betray him? Or was he more upset by the grandness of how Jugo was selected? Being abosulety 'shitted on' by sum1 u felt was far beneath u. I think Jugo kept his plan the same as seen later on when his aide reveals but I don't Kno if Baz was in on that or maybe had his own plans
NGL, there is a problem no one talks about with TYBW: Mayuri could have ended it if he wasn't focused on a literal million different things. Create a toxin based on hollow cells, shinigami get a cold/nothing, quincy perish, the end. He has f*cking surveillance bacteria, come on.

Great character. When we get introduced to him we feel his presence as someone who’s not to be messed with and then his battles and powers truly showed. I highly rate him as a character. Kubo did amazingly with his character. Great vid bro. 10/10
I hope now that Kubo isn’t in a stranglehold, he gives Uryu vs. Haschwalth the flowers it deserves.
his entry into the soul society was epic. Split Walmart, Aizen into two
If he made a go fund me so that they could animate the thousand year blood war arc we would fund all of it if it meant we could get longer flights and I guarantee you would be longer than 60 episodes it be somewhere around like 120
Great video! I’m waiting on that Bambietta Basterbine character analysis video lol.
i just love this. more to go man .
For a right hand man Hashwalth was almost as powerful as his master.
Hashwalt may have been the favoured successor of the Quincy but when you look back all the way to Soul Society arc it's easy to tell why Uryu was chosen. I love the Balance but Ywach made Haschwalt's entire existence relevant.
Because of uryu’s ability?
Nah… the balance plus buffing your Allie’s would’ve made him a better leader then Ywach probably
My glorious 👑 Jugram Haschwalth 🔥🙏
This was truly a great video.
This is a video I have been waiting for, for a while.
Been waiting for this
You really outdid yourself here, what a great character analysis. Really good work, cheers!
Sternritter B the broken
Because he's truly a broken character
I loved that you used BLEACH OST - A Requiem during the Bazz-B final fight
Jugram received that Gin treatment.... So much potential for more screen time but was done dirty ( hope the anime does him more justice honestly ).
Faxx
Honestly all of the Quincys was done dirty just look at Bambietta or Robert they had so much potential but it was wasted
That was an extremely apt analogy my friend. Bravo.
The editing effort ur putting lately, the characters, ur avatars are making video even more enjoyable day by day. Ur efforts aren't going unnoticed sir!
I really see Has as the embodiment of Libra where as Baz is Aries, also how he serves others before thinking of himself that's a fantastic contrast.
It’s comments like these that confirm my theory of Kubo not writing this by himself. I feel he was given this script by a group of elites incorporating the Bible and astrology. I mean think about it…. 1000 years in slumber and Satan 1000 years in the abyss. If Bazz is Aries which is a fire sign and Jugram is a Libra and air sign . Makes sense why they go together.
Such a royal servant to do his job and be very deadly to mess with. I love how Robbie Daymond voice actor who plays this villain in the Anime series. Can't wait to hear more of his work.
Probably one of my favorites in the whole show,I hope they give to him extra scenes or fights.
cang du has caused good luck twice Returning alive from the Hitsugaya battle, and defending against Hashwald's sword. Hasheswald says that every life saved by good luck is taken away by an equal amount of bad luck. The balance of the battle says it must be fair If you survive Hushwald's attack, even Gerald will be swept away by the same amount of bad luck.
Cool Bruce lee Quincy
You deserve every bleach fan subscription. I love your character analysis and how fair you are to everyone’s stories. Your the only one I watch when it comes to bleach character analysis. Thank you for having the dedication to make these stay safe 💯🤍
hes SOO pretty...
JH is my second favorite sternritter, only behind uryu.
The next character analysis video should be about the Bambies.
Honestly Bazz in a way also tried to help him take control of his life
Not gonna lie his character wasn't even all that. Hope the anime does him some justice. For what hes suppose to be, Ywachs right hand, he wasnt very imposing
I have to disagree when he stepped through Nanao kids shield effortlessly. It shows how easily he used the Balance
YESSSS
FINALLY WHAT I NEEDED FOR MONTHS BY NOW
Dope video yo you gotta do Askin or Gerard Valkyrie next
Dang.
Uryu: "Reverse"
Haschwalth: "Reverse back to you. Uno, Uno out."
Aside from him being a cool and stoic character, he also has immaculate Drip
Do all yhwach royal gard next
Criminally underrated
I'm always confused about Bazz B saying he was going to kill Yhwach knowing how impossible for him that would be, even if Yhwach was in base form without the almighty. Bazz wouldn't have a chance and he knows this.
Been away for a few weeks saw this. 👏🏿
Didn’t Haschwald do something in the end to trick Ywach and make him lose his battle against ichigo??
Haschwalts saw the one real future that happend, one where they were defeated. So he decided to play both sides and notify ywach about it still remaining loyal but ywach mistook it as a nightmare and ignored it which is what jugram presumed would happen.
@@ozren8917Wow…. My favorite character
Imagine if haschwalt somehow gave uryu his schrift the balance. The uryu would have A+B
The blonde byakuya of Quincy
I'd wanna see how a fight between Touma and Haswalth.
Who is Touma
I think he means tousen
yo when i read his uncle call him "my sweet jugo" I said out loud "that's a pedophile for sure"
I can tell too when I head that it sounded like he wasn't just physically or verbally abusing him he was sexually abusing him in everyway
I wish he had a fight against one the captains or rival to someone like grimmjow or ginjo or the book of the end user from the lost agent Arc.
They are not match for him, i think Kubo didnt know who to put against, so he put Ishida for story. Jugram demolish all gotei 13, he is easily top 5 in verse
@@sasailicc that man not top five he's not touching ywbaha or Ichigo , ichibe or yama and I would argue Gerald and the sniper dude are more powerful
Just 5 more days and still no new trailer????
Couldn't Uryu just use the Antithesis again when Haschwalth used his Balance? It'd basically result in a continuous uno reverse card and "no u"s until Yhwach decides to suck Haschwalth dry.
i have a theory that the balance is actually more powerful than the antithesis. just an example, uryu can’t switch an event like death, so if he gets hit by an attack that immediately kills him, he can’t really do anything (even if it is unlikely) on the other hand, jugram can control fortune absolutely, so he can manipulate whether the attack even will come and whether he will be unlucky to be hit by said attack. they’re similar attacks but i think the balance has a greater scope of power, which is how i believe he was able to overcome uryu
remember that uryu had two times the injuries so eventually in a fight haschwalt would wear his opponent down quicker
@@warrenfeng1570
If that's the case then so much for surpassing Yhwach's power.
@@herpderp5727 i never said jugram could prevent his death, i agree with you that uryu’s schrift isn’t weak at all (of course it isn’t) but my point is that i think balance could overcome the antithesis user in a combat situation, seeing as how jugram can actually exponentially grow the damage while uryu can only return it as it’s base, yes there are other factors like the durability of the users, but in a situation where the opponents are equal in both categories i believe that the balance would be better off.
that is not to say that the antithesis is less useful or weaker at all. i just meant that the balance could have a case for overcoming it
and lastly, the reason why yhwach chose uryu instead of jugram who has a more combat inclined schrift, is outside of power. yhwach didn’t choose his successor based on how powerful their schrifts seemed, and we know this because there are people like gerard valkyrie and gremmy of all people. but yhwach told us why he chose uryu, it’s because uryu was special and was able to survive the auschwalen. jugram couldn’t prevent his death because he was hit by the light and lost his powers.
my point is just that the balance sounds and looks like a better power because it’s been used to already overcome uryu, remember jugram was winning before he was hit by auschwalen. but the thing is i didn’t mean it was overall a better schrift than the antithesis, then again we haven’t seen enough of either to say
You could draw a Manga with just these 2 characters growing up, so good.
24:31 “Hold up let him cook.”
15:10 Sternritter B for Burden 😂
I'm surprised that Quincy has to eat whereas shinigami do not.
Well Quincies are human, Shinigami are etherial beings.
Quincy are humans with high spiritual pressure 💀
How did Aizen use Kyoka Suigetsu? While in the chair? I guess he is just that guy huh?
He became one with his zanpakto, he doesnt need sword anymore. He can put people just with his passive force
Omg, when he was hunting that rabbit, could it be he was unintentionally giving that rabbit more power which allowed it the speed to avoid his attacks?
Its like Hashwalth can turn a sternritters power off with the Balance
1:05:26 It would have been interesting if it was because he was over Ishida.
“My sweet Jugo” ? That’s not just physical & mental abuse my friend. That’s indicative of sexual abuse. The title itself isn’t just a term of endearment, but is probably a romantic one as well.
King Canute's Quincy Brother.
Hashwalth story is similar to itachi
