Hi, thanks for the video. I signed up to instagram but couldn’t find the video where you made the groove for the carpet / vinyl. Is it possible to cut that groove after the box is constructed?
Sin duda el mejor video que heee visto, no hablo inglés, no entendí ni madres de lo que dijo pero si aprendí mucho más que en cualquier otro lado, gracias por compartir, saludos
You probably already know this, bit anyone else - highly recommend a fabric measuring tape. Floppy tape measure that allows to measure curves and other odd shapes.
Ok, wow. Thank you for posting this. I'm only 3/4 way through the video and I've learned so much. Would you be willing to post information related to the specific tools you used to flatten the vinyl and press it into place? I've just... used my fingers up to this point. Seems you have a much, much better solution for that. Thank you again!
I think it looks fantastic, but to be honest, your work always looks fantastic. This video came at the perfect time as well because I'm currently doing the upholstery on a box for my Yukon using vinyl and carpet as well.
Really like your videos. I'm 60 years old and I'm having the time of my life building custom audio enclosures. The one thing I hate though....you show the ACX-BT3, and it's out of stock. Can't get your show sponsor to give me a date. Maybe you have a contact who has a date?
Love that PPE bag for the contact adhesive. Thanks for putting the links and tip size in the notes! I'd like to see more on that accuspray system. Are they hard to clean up?
I need to spend some time soon and make a box for my focus. I want to replace the factory 8in with a 12in that I have. I also want to replace the factory Amp. Maestro makes a plug and play harness and processor. Do you know of any other plug and play systems for the sony amp system in fords?
I'm doing an enclosure very similar to this for a silverado and i used your technique for the rounded corners. Turned out great! I've built plenty of boxes but always carpeted them. This will be my first time wrapping one with vinyl. My question is, how perfect does the mdf underneath need to be? Will imperfections show through the vinyl? I put some bondo around the rounded edge and sanded it smooth, because I really don't want the rings to show through. Am i doing too much? Does it need to be smooth like if i was going to paint it? Thanks again!
I recommend finding an upholstery shop near you so you can see the product up close and personal. Or if you find a seller on Amazon or somewhere else, they will gladly send you various samples. Often for free. Also don’t cheap out when selecting material. You get what you pay for.
I wish to have it built for my Frontier 2022. Do you have schematics that I can have as a point of reference? One note: my truck also have that hump. Nice job Mark! That looks as it were factory designed! You are the best!
I am going to brush on my contact cement. Do I still need the Landau Top cement or will other versions of Weld Wood work as well when brushed on?.....Thanks
Thanks....Will do! I am building a console and I love your 1/8 groove for a transition. I want to use that idea going from outside to inside and the underneath side of the lid. I am a long time wood worker but not exactly sure how to run that groove on some curved pieces? I can use a curved template but not sure the bit? And the top is actually bent to a curve...any thoughts/videos on a groove on an arched piece? Any links to the welting?
i was watching one of your other videos regarding the led wiring but i dont think there was a part on how to actually wire it up to the vehicle .was wondering if you did have a video on that or any tips?
I don’t think the details hold up over time. It looks crisp when you first do it, but after being in a vehicle and going through heating and cooling cycles, it just won’t stay looking clean.
I have a gladiator and I’m a buy one of your design custom box but I’d like to know can I put 4 10s before I purchased the speaker Rockford Fosgate slim subwoofer
@CarAudioFabrication yea, I was calling around a little bit. Is there a certain thickness you would recommend? I see vinyl fabric all the way up to 1.5mm. Thank you for your quick response!
This is like asking what MDF I use. Its essentially a raw material that is going to vary based on the vehicle you are trying to match. I'd recommend finding an upholstery supplier near you for the best deals and availability.
Will have to find out in the next video. But based on having two of these subs in the same air volume per subwoofer in another vehicle, its going to sound amazing. :)
That is a piece of art. I don't think I have seen a better looking enclosure.
It's a functional work of art. Wow, Mark!
The final result is so detailed, I would never tell it's not a store bought product.
Outstanding work 👍
I love and appreciate your attention to detail. You have 657K(and growing) subscribers for a reason.
8:53 I am speechless. This is impeccable.
6:53 wow, sooooo nicely done. Beautiful work. I am loving this video.

Great vid. What kind of vinyl did you use? A link maybe?

Mark, amazing result. Keep up da good work. This is awesome. Perfect
Finished the video, well done. Incredible. Learned a ton. Will be using this information as I do the door panels in my Porsche 928. Thank you.
Wow! Loving this and I'm sure my customers will too doing so many boxes in the summertime right now whew
Looks fantastic love the details on the wood with the vinyl attached.
I think it looks fantastic, but to be honest, your work always looks fantastic.

Thank you very much!
A video on how you would go about wiring a mid dash speaker while still getting the 2 channels of audio, if at all possible❤️
YOU ARE A BAD ASS SIR!!!!!!

That is so clean!!!
Amazing quality....
Looks great.

Nope because you just throw away the tip. Takes like 30 seconds to clean.
That looks SO well done. I bet it looks AMAZING installed too. Damn I need some talents lol
Really great video!!!
Love the box love to have this set up in my truck would like to get some information on this box for my 2020 ram 1500 crew cab
Very cool. You should also post those shorts on YT, I'm not going to install Instagram or any other social media app. YT is enough.
What about custom lighting and band pass like ES Mobile Audio does?

Mark, great work as always.
What did you use to mount your sponsor logo piece to the wrapped MDF.
Great video!
Great work bro 👍

Anybody knows what kind of vinyl is being used? I'm getting lots of acrylic-looking results.

If it’s for your car, only use the Landau top and trim. The regular won’t hold up in a vehicle. Trust me on that one.
Thanks....Will do! I am building a console and I love your 1/8 groove for a transition. I want to use that idea going from outside to inside and the underneath side of the lid. What kind of material is it
I know this box wasn’t meant for spl (db) numbers I assume, but I’d like to see what it measures just because of the cone area used.
You can buy one off crutchfeild

Wow
Fabulous work
Thx for sharing 👍💯%
My question is why did you get away from using different types of foams to emboss and create different designs in your upholstery techniques?
I don’t think the details hold up over time. It looks crisp when you first do it, but after being in a vehicle and going through heating and cooling cycles, it just won’t stay looking clean.
Is there a way you can make a subwoofer box for two 12’s that’ll fit a Chevy Silverado early 2000
Great work
I have a gladiator and I’m a buy one of your design custom box but I’d like to know can I put 4 10s before I purchased the speaker Rockford Fosgate slim subwoofer
As always!!🔥👍🏻
Thanks again!
Do you sell enclosures? I need a good box for 4 8’s maybe 6 8’s.. depends. Probably DD 2508’s
Where do you guys pick your material. I live in canada near montreal and cant find any quality material. Only thin cheap carpet.
Where can I buy it??? I need some for my 2022 gmc sierra crew cab
I’m interested in getting me an build just like this one
Hey man! Love your content. Could you send me a link for where you get your vinyl? Thanks in advance
A local upholstery supply place. Your best bet is to run a google search. It would be like asking where I get my MDF, a local source is what you need.
@CarAudioFabrication yea, I was calling around a little bit. Is there a certain thickness you would recommend? I see vinyl fabric all the way up to 1.5mm. Thank you for your quick response!
Very Nice🧐
I have a 2018 f150 how can I buy this box ?
Lint to the actual vinyl you use?

Apparently, it's not okay to ask people about their "turn-ons".... Unless you're talking about car audio.... Smh
Well what's she sound like??
Will have to find out in the next video. But based on having two of these subs in the same air volume per subwoofer in another vehicle, its going to sound amazing. :)
