I haven't watched your videos for some time now. The only reason is I got out of the car audio scene after selling my last huge system. I really got into custom woodworking and added a CNC machine to my shop. I had some downtime and wanted to check out this video... I'm not even building a box. EXCELLENT work! Your attention to detail is superb. I did buy plans from you once and they were absolutely perfect. Great job and keep it up. 600k subs is awesome.
You are extremely talented when it comes to building these! I ran across one of your videos about a month ago and got the urg to put a system in my truck. After many hours its done and sounds so good thanks to your helpful knowledge. Cant wait to see the rest of this build!
i've been watching your channel for 2 years now, i haven't made any sound system purchases yet but i am glad i haven't because i am learning things i didn't even know
Firstly, nice box! I'm very interested in knowing how it looks when it's finished. I'm also curious about how you cut the angles on the sides. Second, thank you for all of the advice and knowledge that you give! I've been following your channel for a while. Recently, I built a subwoofer enclosure for my car. Using your tips helped me to avoid some key errors when designing and building it. I didn't know what to expect from my subwoofer/enclosure but it's impressive to me. Your channel and teachings are a great resource for me and, I'm sure, many others.
Mark, thanks for sharing. I really enjoy watching your builds. I've picked up a lot of tips from you that have helped with my own personal installations.
Wow, your table saw is so clean. I don't think mine has been that clean since it was new. You must have impressive dust collection. I love the triple router table.
No joke, imperial measurements are so unneccessarily awkward to use. Bloody yanks stubbornly holding onto their archaic systems just for the sake of it...🙄
I have a custom made subwoofer underseat of my pick up truck ... first it was sealed then after some times i modified it to ported... now its sound more louder more punch more pleasure
I bought an underseat active "slim" subwoofer from JBL but I'm really having a hard time liking all that muffled bass coming from under the passenger seat. Do you have any tips for placement of the speaker, or would you consider making a video to explain how to get that best sound out of those? Mine is a JBL sw6-8s model I really appreciate your channel, learned lots here!
You can adjust your measure indicator to make your cuts accurate. All the functions of the saw should have adjustments like this. Always double-check before cutting. Things can move.
I like the video and the great work on the box. My question is how you decided how much space to leave between the baffle/sub and the floor, and if you calculated the area for the cutouts in front and back. I am doing a "down" firing sub into the solid back of a seat with a cutout (arm rest fold down), and am trying to decide how much space to leave for the 2 10s. I was trying to use the surface area of the subs but that ended up with 6" of space which seems like too much. I assume I will end up with a quasi-bandpass type of thing which your box should as well. Did you compensate for the extra woofer loading in your box calculations?
do you somehow waterproof this subwoofer. I can imagine that because it's under the seat, during rainy days carpet becomes wet and MDF do not like it...
How do you determine the minimum distance from the sub mounting fasteners to the edge of the board? How do you apply that to different sub wattages, board densities and thickness?
I just got into your website using the links. And noticed you don't have a underseat box for a 2003 Dodge ram with the underseat storage compartment. I believe the newer rams have the same compartment but no sure. Will you ever do something for these type of trucks.
I'd be interested in purchasing an "under the seat" box for my 2018 sierra crew.. with 2 10's.. sounds good stereo does not offer this for my particular model. Plz let know if you can offer this. Thank you for your time.
Great work Mark! I've got a question. Have you ever made a custom center console from scratch? Or have you ever worked on a big van like a Chevy express? I have recently purchased a chevy express and I want to upgrade all of it. I added a nice pioneer head unit, a provisional active subwoofer under the seat, a set of component speakers in the front and a pair of coaxial speakers in the back along with a super tiny amplifier from db drive (euphoria series). I really want to make something great out of that project and I've been looking at JL Audio for the whole system. Im thinking about a sealed enclosure with a pair of 10TW1 subwoofers inside the custom center console, a nice set of C2 component speakers in the doors, a set of C1 coaxial or component speakers in the back (6x9 woofer) and maybe a pair of C1 4 inch coaxials in the middle for a nice complementary fill due to the size of the vehicle. The thing here is that I am trying to figure out the system and the possible uses of such a huge space added by a center console (it would be about 30 inches long, 15 inches wide and 16 inches tall) and It would be super usefull to get some inspitation, tips or guide about it. What do you think about the system? Would you change anything? Would you go with the small coax in the middle or simply use the front and back speakers? Thanks a lot
Hello sir. I would like to install 2x2 6.5 inch speakers in the front. I want both 4 ohm speakers and parallel it to 2 ohm and then bridge it on a 4 channel pioneer digital Amp.(120w rms/channel 2 ohm capable) No speakers at the back only dual speakers at front. What do you think which speakers I should go with ? I would like to have component speakers not coax. I'm now running focal mid series but only 1 pair.
Man it feels like college all over prob & stats lol. Call me when you start bringing in the speakers lol jk, love your videos, you're a genius at this stuff
Except it is literally a perfect match for what JL recommends. That's what happens when you use subwoofers that are actually engineered and designed for the application, instead of some of these companies making cheap wannabe "shallow mounts" that require just as much air volume as a traditional sub.

I built a box for an actual customer this weekend and I wouldn’t have gotten to that point without Mark. This channel is such a gem!

This video made me appreciate growing up in a country that uses the metric system 🙏🏼

Awesome! Thanks for sharing that and watching!
I used a 3dprinter to make the adapter for 6x9 speaker in my Nissan Sentra 2022, work perfect

I like this project and how you explain every detail, excellent job
That template tape tip was great. I’m not a woodworker so I haven’t seen it before.
It's the little things
OMG... Metrical system is waaaay easier than imperial! 😂
Milimeters>>>>>>inches
Jokes aside, outstanding work!
No joke, imperial measurements are so unneccessarily awkward to use. Bloody yanks stubbornly holding onto their archaic systems just for the sake of it...🙄
Another awesome video that I can relate to! You answered a lot of question I had! Thanks again Mark!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for posting
Top quality build as always ☺️
Great 👍 work sir you almost make me think I can get it right the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time lol. Peace

I will always Jackie Chan arms in the air when I hear out loud the maths in inches.

I realy like your job as olways nice job man 💪💪💪

What trucks does this box fit, and can someone order all the pieces and hardware to put one together?
awesome job as always. Is there a video explaining connections from the head unit all the way to the subs? thx
I wish I had your time and patience I'm always in a hurry to get stuff done so the detail lacks
do you somehow waterproof this subwoofer. I can imagine that because it's under the seat, during rainy days carpet becomes wet and MDF do not like it...
Is this just 1 chamber for all the subs or did you seal off each individual chambers?
Where can we get a circle template like you had for the sub holes? And do you know if there are any for the JL Audio TW5 13.5?
That's nice but would really like to see you make a sub box for the ram 1500 classic
How do you determine the minimum distance from the sub mounting fasteners to the edge of the board? How do you apply that to different sub wattages, board densities and thickness?
I am OCD and your attention to detail makes me feel shamed!!😂👍🏻

Any recommendation for my 2 door Mini Cooper self powered subwoofer? I have the kicker hideaway 10” but sounds like it’s trying too hard.
Hello sir,
With this 4-10 inch sub box can you port the box being under the set?
I'd be interested in purchasing an "under the seat" box for my 2018 sierra crew.. with 2 10's.. sounds good stereo does not offer this for my particular model. Plz let know if you can offer this. Thank you for your time.
What would charge for a box for a 24' Ford maverick passenger side under seat storage area to fit a 10" sub?
Great work Mark!

Hi can a downfiring can be made to work with a 15" subwoofer?
Man it still shocks me the amount of small things you have to know in order to do an under the seat box
I need enclosure from you 🥰
Where can I get these blueprints? Im needing something similar but I looked on the website and didn't see these ones.
I wish this would work in my 3rd Gen Tacoma. I want to add subs but I don't want to lose the storage behind the seat.
Looks great but over kill for a truck cab. 2 -10" subs is plenty.
Man it feels like college all over prob & stats lol. Call me when you start bringing in the speakers lol jk, love your videos, you're a genius at this stuff
Will a AudioControl LC-1.800 power a JL audio 10w7ae
Great video. You ever tell a client they might have a probelm? I mean 4 subs in one car....seriously
How can I get my hands on one of these boxes?
Yesssir
how much for a box like this?
Are you/your company hiring?? On the job training?? Serious inquiry!!
Metric system is so much easier...
So why ca glue on the stacks and wood glue everywhere else?
Fast drying vs slow drying.
Where is the finished product?
1st
Wow man all the way down to half a sixteenth inch. Lol
My transmission hump prevents me from doing this. Maybe I can get away with 2 woofers .
What? you can't adjust the ruler to the blade?
My table saw has that feature.
For just a few cuts?
Rather keep it dialed in and do the simple math.
@@CarAudioFabrication
oh, I missed the angle conversation part.
A simpler way to do the math would be to use the metric system. 😁
The more simple way to do the math: metric.
Wood is so expensive. Projects not happening anytime soon.
No way that has enough air space.
Except it is literally a perfect match for what JL recommends. That's what happens when you use subwoofers that are actually engineered and designed for the application, instead of some of these companies making cheap wannabe "shallow mounts" that require just as much air volume as a traditional sub.
I left as soon as he started taking about 32s
Bye 👋
Ah, "the more simple way to do the math" would be to use metric lol... add 3 32nds? Sounds crazy to metric people lol
Seeing all those nonsensical fractured imperial dimensions, it might be a good idea to finally change to metric...
...like the rest of the world.
😁
I use both systems daily with zero issues. But I know fractions can be hard for some.
I wrote the same thing! 😂
Dimensions in seconds?? 😂
How annoying is the imperial system. Metric is literally so simple and much easier to use in these measurements. Why don’t Americans go metric
