You have two fans in Brazil 🇧🇷 who loves all the projects you do. Here we do many projects similar to yours. We use JL and Focal, but here the cost of these items are very high. Congratulations on the projects and keep inspiring us.
Hi Mark, I just want to say thank you. You inspired me to build my own enclosure and the finished product has far exceeded my expectations. I'm truly glad I found your channel. Thanks again!
Mark, I enjoy all your videos and the passion you show in all your work! I would love to see you build a "stealthbox" like enclosure using a 13" JL Audio shallow sub for a 2017 superduty crew cab under the 1/2 seat behind the driver. I love how you show your followers what can be accomplished while showcasing your great talent. Keep up the greatwork!
Is there a planner for this build ? Because im trying to find it on your website and i cant find it. Can you leave a link for this ? Thank you in advance. 😁👍
Hey buddy. So I have a question that may seem a bit ignorant or maybe I’m just overthinking it. If I’m building a sub box for let’s say.. 3 8” subs. The spec sheet calls for a 10sq. in. Port area and 19” port length to achieve a tuning freq. of 35hz for 1 sub. Do I need to triple that to have the adequate port volume for all 3 combined? To me that seems a bit excessive. Thanks in advance
4 years later and coming back to see this masterpiece again. Getting ready to use a kicker l7s and build something just like this for my wife’s suv cargo area. Doing this with a single ported sub is soo much more difficult cause the thin box makes the port sooooo long lol.. box is gonna go from 26” wide to 42” wide just to accommodate the port 🤦♂️
Lol. Just won a set of the curve stack templates from a drawing. Built my first under seat box like that. Would have love to have the angle tip 3 weeks ago. Lol. Typing this before even watching video. Excited to watch the whole thing see if I was on the right track with what you are teaching. Keep up the great work Mark
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Used your techniques to make my own for my crew cab silverado. I did a single 12" pancake sub and got a whopping 1.25 sq ft of air space on one side, then just used the remaining space for storage. Subbed.
That looks very fun to build. I ordered a box from MTI Acoustics because I don’t have all of these tools yet. But when I do you bet I’ll be making my own boxes with the skills and tips I’ve learned from your videos
I'm a carpenter by trade and a furniture and cabinet maker by hobby. I've always been amazed by your woodworking skills with the router and hope to use some of your methods in the future. I just need to get out of this square and perpendicular rut I'm in.
I’m so glad you did a video about this because I don’t believe your website had something like this, although the site is only limited to the skilled person building the box. I will be there very soon to get a design for my 2018 F-150 super crew. Great video man!! Thanks
I just built one very similar to this. The only difference was I put 4 front firing 8”s in it under the seat in my SC F150. Turned out great!! Thanks for the videos!!
What do you say about down firing vs forward firing? Watched a box builder say that down or up in a truck will sound muffled. Bass is non directional, but does the air displacement suit the woofer? I'm planning on building a down fire 10" sub box in my 2023 F-150. Just wanted to hear your opinion on this. Thanks!
I find using DOW board or rigid foam board works great for roughing out odd configurations and angles. Its cheap per 4x8 sheet(like a few bucks depending on thickness) and can be cut with k-nife. On a side note, I feel like you could make that cut in one pass with a chop saw or radial arm saw at a compound angle with a part axis change. But thats beyond this video and would definitely depend on part thickness, and vise setup.
I recommend either attaching a piece of metal or wood to the underside of your sled that would fit into those slots on your table saw. Than you dont need to use your fence and you eliminate that possible error, plus you can cut much longer boards. If you add a rear fence that you true up to be 90 degrees to the blade, you can also quickly cut accurate 90° cuts. Woodworking for Mere Mortals has a good simple plan for a crosscut sled.
Hi Mark, I came across of one of your videos and you made it seem super simple but without practice those cuts are difficult. I not only subscribe here but also on your Patreon. I will have questions for you for my own simple built. Keep up the awesome work!!!
What about tuning the enclosure? I assume the box will be supported. Do we need the consider the compression against the comes because they are firing right down at the floor so closely?
I love this video! I am currently starting to build an underseat enclosure for my 2020 Silverado. Can you post the link for the 5 inch corner template you used please? And thank you for everything you do! You make it so easy to understand!
What up mark I had 2 10” L5 under rear seat ex cab 04 Silverado now I have 2 L7 same down firing enclosure what’s a good gap between floor and woofer box don’t mind lifting seat any rough estimate will help I have about 1 1/2 “ right now thank you awesome YT channel
I see some others have asked about the box volume and you said you can simply cut a whole in the brace, did that not change the volume of the box?, and you said it's fine for a mono signal, will you please expound on that in relation to the shared space of the two subs on the mono signal and air volume?
Amazed yet again .... Your quality of work is impecable ...im wanting a box for 2 alpine typer 10s that are 2 ohm each . prefab has just been horrible . i have a 07 acura tl ... What do you suggest ? Will you build and ship ? ... Could be some good content ..i listen to all types of music ....
What state you in? My ram needs some love. Just bought alpine s-w10D2 and kicker 46cxa8001 amp. Dodge custom box claims .5 volume or should I use my best buy box with .75 volume?
I have seen you do rounded corners a couple different ways. Is there a specific reason you used stacked material for these corners instead of using the method where you cut several grooves in the material not going all the way through, allowing the material to bend around the corner? You could of used a single piece of plywood to make two 90 degree rounded corners and then a second piece on the back. Just curious if there is a reason to do one instead of the other. What factors come into making that decision? FYI I love your channel!
This might sound like a stupid question .. I know what a downfiring box is I’ve built one already but not like this one so if this fits flush and tight under the seat would it act as a 4 order ?
Always you make this look great and easy. Thanks. Q: what I s better in your opinion down firing or fiberglassing the box in a pickup. Thanks once again for your awesome vids.
I noticed you mentioned a mono connection to the amp. With two subs, would it make it any better to use a dual channel amp and set the subs in stereo? If not in this one, in what circumstance would a stereo sub configuration be better?
To further add on this reply for new people to understand. You car is too small of a space for your ears to be able to discern where a bass note played from a sub came from. In a large room like a theater it would be worth it, in your car stereo subwoofers would be pointless.
You R Soooo much advanced in this field. All your vids are so cool to watch even i dont EVER gonna try non of that! hahaha. Stay safe my dude. Awesome job as always. ♥
I watched that video carefully, taking notes and doing math. Those two sealed chambers are approximately 0.6 cubic feet total internal volume, each. You installed Rockford Fosgate T1S2-10's, and the manual for those woofers says the speaker displaces 0.03 cu.ft. Therefore the Vb of each of those chambers is approximately 0.57 cu.ft. For a sealed enclosure, the RF manual recommends a Vb range of 0.5 - 1.0 cu.ft., and an optimum sealed Vb of 0.8 cu.ft. With the Vb of this enclosure build on the very low end of the spec, it should have a harder time playing low frequency notes. So I ask you Mark, how does this build perform? I'm a newbie, still learning. I think perhaps "resonant frequency" may be one of the parameters that comes in to play here. That's the frequency where the box makes the highest SPL, right? And SPL tapers off in both directions? Wouldn't this enclosure "sound better" with woofers that are more closely matched to the optimum Vb, such as the JL 10TW3-D8?
In my F150 I built a single 12” enclosure down firing for a much better/deeper xmax capable sub as a center console extension in the rear seating area even adding cup holders and a charging station on the top. I also have two equal size storage compartments under the seats now too. It’s effectively a 2 + 2 but I never put 5 in the cab anyway . It’s held in with a plastic coated chain to the rear seat mounts so it’s technically removable in a pinch . Wish I would have built it deep enough for the Stereo Integrity SQL-12 as my regret though...maybe next time. Mark’s builds are next level to anything I could do or imagine though...props to the master craftsman!

Are you the definition of "The proper tool for the job." I've got so much to buy!
You got mad skills bro
Thanks!

I wish I had seen this before making the box for my truck, this looks great, looking forward to seeing it finished

Watching these videos just reminds how I will never be able to make something so awesome
Yes you will. I know it
Dude you are a flippin BOSS. Who else brings this kind of precision and talent to the car audio game?
Mark you are still the master Box builder
Do you think it’s possible to fit (4) 10” underneath the seat of a 2004 GMC extended cab backseat. Single voice coil Cheep kickers
Lol. Just won a set of the curve stack templates from a drawing. Built my first under seat box like that. Would have love to have the angle tip 3 weeks ago. Lol. Would you be willing to share your build dimensions. I have 2015 silverado crew cab and looking to do a single 10” slim sub.
Thank you Mark you've given me more ideas for when I tackle the box for my 19 ridgeline.
That looks very fun to build. I ordered a box from MTI Acoustics because I don’t have all of these tools yet. But when I do you bet I’ll be making my own boxes with the skills and tips I’ve learned from your videos
Very impressive build and you taught me some cool tricks. Space is tight in my 88 single cab but I’m gonna make something work.
For that cold i recommended you theraflu tea the one said severe cold work 💯% good work i love it

I just built one very similar to this. The only difference was I put 4 front firing 8”s in it under the seat in my SC F150. Turned out great!! Thanks for the videos!!
what did you use to calculate the air volume?

Which CA glue and activator are you currently using?
I can’t find the large bottle I’ve seen you use. Thanks so much. You’re awesome

11:05 - 11:18 is the funniest thing I have watched and listened to in a long time. 🤣
I love watching your videos. You present well and you have so many awesome techniques. 👍
That looks sooo good! So happy you do this on youtube!
Badass, well done! You make those complex cuts look easy as heck.

nice solid work.any one else would've curf the mdf but your way is the best

Man…..you are a BAD SON OF A GUN!!! Great work and you just gained a new follower.
As always, so creative. In your opinion, for an under seat sub enclosure is it better to have it fire up like factory or down?
Challenge question. How would you incorporate this corner template into a 1.5" thick/er port wall?
This makes me realize how many tools I’m going to need to accumulate over the years
I love this video! I am currently starting to build an underseat enclosure for my 2020 Silverado. Can you post the link for the 5 inch corner template you used please? And thank you for everything you do! You make it so easy to understand!

I’d love to see you build something similar this using a single JL Audio 13TW5 subwoofer for a Ford F-150 application.
Morning, I was wondering do you just build boxes for your videos or do you make them for customers.
How can you not like this video? Give me a job please I will move up there.
What computer program do you use for box building calculations???
I need to order those mobile solutions stack Fab corner kit😍
You always aim for nothing but perfection 👌 Keep up your awesome work Man!
Do you sell that box's for a 2019 GMC Sierra.
I see some others have asked about the box volume and you said you can simply cut a whole in the brace, did that not change the volume of the box?, and you said it's fine for a mono signal, will you please expound on that in relation to the shared space of the two subs on the mono signal and air volume?
Your handy with that router table. Nice work

I learned so much from watching you. How much would one cost for a 2016 f150 4 doors
Hi Mark , What software do you use for sub-woofer enclosures ?
Jon
looks like you got the Accuspray gun, Sweet. Great Video!!!
ok your channel is for advanced people.
I have something for everyone. Nothing wrong with watching advanced info to better understand the foundational information
Wah-bam-ah-wam-ah-wam! That's just a great sound
That was a neat box.
Very well done.

Such an awesome build. I am really enjoying your videos Mark.
Excellent job my friend
Beautiful woodworking and awesome car audio.
Mark thanks for doing this build!!
wow that is gorgeous
I LOVE LEARNING HOW TO CUT ANGLE!
EDIT: a word

Awesome as usual Mark!! Love your videos!!
Do you have the link for the closed cell foam you used to wrap the speaker wires in the enclosure

awesome job,super clean
I looked at the measurements of this enclosure and I think it's perfect for what I need.......
How much would something like this cost and have u ever done anything in 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport extended cab
Hi this Pudge at Mesa Radio in Albuquerque I was wondering where did you get the 2in quad bearing flush trim bit ?
Great as always. Btw do you know volume of the box?
You R Soooo much advanced in this field. All your vids are so cool to watch even i dont EVER gonna try non of that! hahaha. Stay safe my dude. Awesome job as always. ♥
Really nice job....came out great
Can you make this sub box design available for purchase on your website? I’m looking to build this style box for my 2016 F150
Mark you are just too smart for me.
Is there a table saw and router with table that’s budget friendly y’all recommend that could possibly be bought at Home Depot or Lowe’s?
Super nice. I need a box like that for my truck.
Thank you for sharing your skill
You're very talented....nice work
Is there any way you can make a box for a 2005 tundra double cab? I've yet to find something I can just buy to accommodate any subs
Do you polyfil your subwoofer boxes? I cannot find this step in any of your videos.
What is the internal volume. Just curious if this would work with 2 JL 13TW5v2’s?

Speaker is also important ,what speaker are you using ??
Love this idea!
Nice one. I would to make one smaller but where in volvo v40 can i position it?
Question - why make the subwoofer holes and then align the rings? Why not mount the rings, drill a hole and then flush trim off the rings?
Do you have any design for 2018 crew cab Colorado? Thanks nice videos!
have you ever seen a sub box for 4 10's in a 3rd gen camaro that fits in the back cavity?
No, but in the world of custom dream it and it can be done.
Do you have any videos or diy ideas for a boat subwoofer box I have 4 subs that I want to install on my pontoon boat
Awesome video man! What are the plastic circle templates your using?
Mery Christmas.
How much for one of these boxes with out speakers???
My loc and amp both have a bass knob, which is best one to use ?
Lol 😂 dude makes it look and sound so simple
What CAD program are you using?
u should post the specs so us f150 owners can copy lol
Edit: He should offer his plans for sale.
@@gearheadtechnology he does. They're in the links. They sell the blueprints for boxes.
