It's not just eating eggs, it's the other insulin producing foods. If you avoid the wrong foods that are bad for you, I don't see a down side to eating eggs. Americans farmers back in the 50's ate the kind of breakfast that most Doctors would not recommend, Eggs, grits, sausage or bacon along with biscuits or toast. Nothing in this group could cause "Leaky Gut" except the biscuits. As far as I can recall, farmers in the 50's live very long productive lives, of course after breakfast they would go out and work their farms all day (which means burning calories), not laying around the house watching the view 😆😆

After this diet, all of those numbers dropped to bottom of the "normal" or recommended ranges. My doc was pretty impressed. Maybe I didn't do more detailed test than the standard annual blood exam? I gained abt 10 back, but currently, I am on a mostly KETO diet, but a time restricted feeding diet along with supplements you recommend, Doc., along with NMN, Resveratrol and other items in the regimen from David Sinclair. I've lost 27lbs since starting the TRF diet, now back to my high school dating weight. Still little to no sugar or refined carbs or high-lectin veggies. Exercise increases IGF-1, so according to the logic in this video older people should stop exercising then which obviously doesn't make sense as exercise is fairly generally admitted as being healthy. And the claim about 20-30 grams of protein being enough doesn't seem to pan out according to people that actually study the field who say optimal is something like 1.2 to 1.6g of protein per kg of body weight and older people need it especially to prevent muscle loss and becoming frail. Protein is essential to repairing things like the intestinal gut lining, that even the doctor making these videos talks about. So if one wants to be healthy, why would they choose to be deficient in the things that potentially protects them from things like leaky gut.

among most of my grandparents who did not die with cancer ate eggs because usual start of day was eggs, milk, corn flakes. Except one who got cancer in 90s, none of the other died with cancer even in his own family among those who ate it. My vegetarian friend who I hardly even saw have dairy because she was very weight conscious died with bone cancer at 25. We are really being made to believe things that are pushing us away from root cause of the problems.
If cancer was caused by meat or eggs, it should have impacted all of my family members who regularly ate it and none of them were lifting weights or going to gym. They were active and walked daily. But what I saw is they all mostly lived disciplined life.
One of my grandfathers who lived very close to 100 in late 90 was an omnivore, but maintained healthy lifestyle.

Thing is, at the age of 45 and 73 kg, increasing drastically protein intake to around 100-150 grams/day from animal source proteins (3 or 4 full eggs/day, around 100 g of whey proteins plus meat) got me the lowest blood glucose ever (both in the morning and also in terms of spikes after eating) while being able to eat more. As a plus, I avoid any type of carbs except the ones from low glycemic index fruits, I eat also a lot of fiber and greens and I do a lot of sport. Eating plants , making sport and eating low/normal amount of proteins was helpful, but blood glucose was still not as low as it is since I increased animal protein intake.

From what others explain, and from personal experience, eating meat with fat makes one feel full for a long time, thus reduces the total number of calories ingested daily. Add some vegetables and the production of IGF-1 will be limited… that’s basically the Mediterranean diet…

I ate a plant based diet supplemented with small amounts of animal protein. I did amateur bicycle racing, lifted weights, and was always tired and run down. Had all the trace vitamins/minerals/electrolytes etc. Did this for decades and read all the books, thought I was doing everything right.
Met a gymnast and a couple of people who were really into competitive athletics. A whole new world of nutrition and supplementation opened up.
When I changed my diet slightly to include about .7gm protein/lb. of Lean body wt. my body wt. dropped, no more tiredness, my brain fog disappeared, interest in life returned like I was 18 again, put on more muscle, etc.
I now follow the money to check out all these different diets that come and go and find the reason behind them. It should be very clear by now, that there should be consensus among most researchers on what a human diet is .... and there kind of is that...within groups of people, like the different athletes, different societies around the world, and so forth.
But how much of these so called perfect diets are promoted for desk riders who don't do any exercise, athletes who use have tremendous calorie needs like pro bicycle racers and strongmen, runners, cross fitters, heavy construction workers, sedentary doctors who are over-fat, and their female front office workers who are well-rounded out, .......The whole thing is insane.
Follow the money, find out the nutrition of the people who do what you want to do, find out the research behind it, look at the societies where these diets come from.
In the end, there are different nutritional needs for people who do different things.
If your whole goal in life is to live longer and nothing else, then your life will be hell.
My Dad lived to 102, stopped teaching school, at 88, had a beer every day, and the full German type diet until a few years before death. How many people are going to spend their lives in hell, trying to live as long as possible instead of becoming the best they can be, with energy and vitality and free of disease as they can possibly be......

Researchers like Alan Aragon or Brad Schoenfeld, who specialize in fitness and muscle hypertrophy, come up with way, WAY higher recommendations than 20-30 grams of protein a day, after they scooped up dozens of studies together. The cancer building potential of IGF-1 (which increases with animal protein full of leucine) depends a lot of your lifestyle. It's heavily affected by how much exercise you do, how glycogen depleted your muscles are, how insulin sensitive they are, how much repair they need etc. IGF-1 doesn't just get distributed evenly throughout the body. It can have more affection for receptors in the muscles, if you actually use them for moderate to heavy exercise. This video sheds too much of a simplistic view on the mechanics on these 'cancer building hormones' in my view.

Every person is different. My mother ate roasts, gravies, eggs and bacon and loved her sweets. She passed away at 94 from a respiratory illness. So, how many eggs can you eat each day safely? I like eggs but I am afraid of the cholesterol. Can olive oil help reduce the cholesterol level in eggs? Thanks

I gave up sugar for 5 years and felt terrible! Now, I eat a dozen glazed donuts every day with my morning beers and I feel great

Dr Gundry must be very rich to go to Europe all the time. Snobby rich people can afford hand crafted olive oil. These videos don't apply to us poor people...

There is cheaper high quality Morrocan extra virgin olive oil called Terra Delyssa. It's legit, 13 dollars a liter at most stores.

"As we get older there is nothing in us we want to grow." ... But that's not true. You should grow muscles as you get older and get stronger over time.

Dr Gundry, are you talking about just animal protein or are you talking about all protein? I do not eat meat very often, maybe once a month but I do eat yogurt almost daily. So are you saying that if I eat a cup of yogurt daily I should not be eating an egg a day? I like to hard boil eggs to eat when I feel I need a boost, better than eating sugar or bread products. Please explain. Thank you.

I have been eating 3-6 eggs on most days for about 40 years, now in my 60's & doing well, no fat, and I have the blood pressure of an olympic athlete, even though I am not an athlete & only do minimal exercise.
