Liked the straightforwardness-ness and the bareness-ness 🤓. I takes effort to do this as an introvert, and yes we can learn “social” skills but we’ll be introverts below the surface anyhow, more recharging..

Im 64 and have been married 34 years.
I work out in a gym with a lot of younger people of dating age. One of these acquaintances shared one of your videos with me as well as one other youtuber, asking my opinion on the quality of your advice.
Both of you give valuable advice, but your vulnerability and truthfulness in this video really touched me.
The way you have taken accountability is so rare, as well as your desire to learn. Anna, you are a keeper. I know what one looks like because I am married to one.
We are all broken. We all possess a red flag or two. If we are to have good relationships, it is not only important to find the right person, but also to BE the right person. And when we falter, to forgive and be forgiven.
Im still in the learning process 34 years on. Shes worth it.
God bless you Anna, and thank you for what you do.

Thank you for your bravery, Anna. 39-23? He had issues as well. (Major red flag) A relationship of a girl with her father is EXTREMELY important and can literally screw up the daughter for her entire life, if not resolved. Even if their relationship is "normal", it will often play a definitive role in how she relates to her husband (years later). Likewise, how a son relates to his mother is very telling as well. Anna, you made yourself very vulnerable today in this video. Blessings from the East Coast. (A daughter's relationship with her father = Her first relationship with a man. Likewise, a son's relationship with his mother is his first relationship with a woman. That is why it 'sets the stage' for all her further interactions with men. Very critical to her development of a healthy relationship with men.)

39-23 is not a red flag but natural. The man knew she was fertile. A 39 year old woman is not. Hence not a red flag. This tale origins from feminism.

You keep getting better and better --I couldn't find the cat though. I used to have an old black tomcat I called buddy he was really smart and would would mind really well. I remember him trying to follow me to work one day so I picked him up and put him on my utility trailer tongue box and told him to stay and he was right where I left him 3 hours later when I came home for lunch .I really loved that old cat .Every time I talked with my girlfriend on the phone he could hear it and would run and jump up on my lap or walk around meowing because he could hear her voice . She would laugh and ask to talk to him and he really ate it up. We're still friends but not together although Buddy has past . it's the little things in life that make it so special. I really enjoyed what you had to say and reiterated it ad- infinitum. To add my two cents our parents didn't think about what the other had so much as they cared about loving one another . Guys all seem to want the super hot sex machine girlfriend and women want a man to give them a six or seven figure lifestyle and care nothing about the important things . Getting involved in that scene is like playing on the freeway .This is another reason for my MGTOW stance . I just don't seem to find any quality women in my neighborhood , but who knows even a blind hog can find an acorn as the old saying goes .

Happy Sunday Anna and how are you.
So, I never been in a relationship or marriage and I never got divorced or end in breakup, but I was rejected twice by two different women. I watched this video till the end. I'm approaching 30 soon and I done lot of mistakes in the past which I still do regret. I'm watching your videos for more than a year now and I know what's important for a right love and a marriage. So, about your situation it's very sad for you. I believe you often read the Bible and divorce was not even an option according to the commandments of God 🙏. When a man and woman married once then they are always married in the eyes of God although the couples got seperated on earth. This is what I learned few months ago and today there is much darkness everywhere. Thanks, for the video Anna and I appreciate it.

    • @YourWingmam

I’m glad you watched the whole video, there is much that can be learned to prevent the wrong relationship. Because as you note, some things are undoable. Be wise in your choice so you’ll have no regrets. You have time! As for the Bible, yes, I was “reborn” after the divorce but that doesn’t absolve it. It’s certainly something I struggle with and pray for guidance on. 🙏

Also, I like how you are not lambasting yourself either. Instead, you allude to the objective reality of blind-spots interpersonally and also, you have self-actualized and expressed what you did right as well - an impressive video.

I was married 20 yrs n now divorced 17 yrs. I have had a few relationships 2 longer term 3yrs n 5vyrs n a few dates in that time. After my last one ended i swore i wasnt gonna date again untill i cd get it right. Ive been single now several years and have done alot of work. Everything u went overvin this video, i think, was spot on 😊. Great advise if someone will take the time to do the work. One of your best videos, and reassuring that one has done the post-divorce work the right way. Personally, as an introvert, I found that adjusting to being single and alone (not lonely), followed 4 stages. 1st, one deals with it. 2nd, one accepts it/gets used to it. 3rd, one enjoys it. 4th (and potentially the "dangerous" one), one depends on it. I guess that last one comes down to learning to trust again, especially trusting oneself. Why I appreciate the balance and honesty in your videos. Thank you.
Incidentally, t'was interesting seeing your reaction to how cold Vancouver was last phew daze, and I found myself wondering what day you filmed on 😅

I’m divorced too. This is the best advice I’ve heard so far. I can relate to this. I dated someone while I was sperated/divorced (I'm divorced now). She and I definatley had chemistry, connection and attraction. But in the end, she wanted to marry me. I did not want to get remarried! She also wanted to help me get back on my feet, but I refused. I told her "the only person that can fix the damage my ex wife did to me is [myself]!" If I did let her help me and it didn't work out, it would have looked like I used her and I wasn't going to let that happen.

Sure I fancied her and chemistry was there but like you say, the long term goals were different. I also like physical touch but she never did. It hurt for sure when we split, but I thought of it like ripping off a sticky plaster on your skin. Yeah it hurts for a few seconds but it's over and done with. Sending you some warm cuddles from the (also cold) UK! 🤗
Take care, and keep warm! 🐈❤

Thank you, Anna, for this video! 🤩 After splitting up with my cheating spouse after 27 yrs, I attempted to get back in the dating scene just so I could feel desired again. But I stopped after 3 dates, recognizing that I needed to work on myself. And after two shrinks, therapies and massive internal work 3 years later, I was able to truly forgive and forget my past... and most importantly learn to love myself! It's a game changer and this video is right on point! ❤ Keep up the great work!

After Divorce 1. Unload your emotional baggage/ after divorce , you are on ground , just unload. 2. develop new habits but do everything consistently on daily bias. Revisiting new habit and practicing it, helps your brain to shake from typical thought process and restart your thinking first time in the morning. 3. It is wise to seek an expert or online personal therapy.

Yeah, in the throes of divorce i often felt worthless. My ex had a great capacity for doing that to me.
Despite some other setbacks happening at the time, I was able to overcome some of that. However, being that a factor in divorce was sexless marriage, I ended up in an LTR with the first girl I got to enjoy. Initially, she pushed all the right buttons but somewhat soon revealed a lot of red flags. I tried to hang on - it lasted not quite 2 years - because I didnt want to fail again. However, my tenacity kept me into a worse relationship and dissolution than my previous 22 year marriage.

Yes anna, we are taught to use successful people snd relationships.......but that is a flaw.........people hide their true relationship flaws and hide failures. The same goes for other aspects of their lives. We need to try to copy success with details and facts behind the success. Not success via luck or generational wealth. Identifying mistakes going forward for self and others as a roadmap is even better imho....because its a detail rich breakdown of facts and outcomes. You are providing a better insight this way.

My parents were married until Dad died, 35+ years. I wouldn't take much marital advise from either of them though. It's not just about staying together forever, it's about "happily" staying together forever. And I'm a 2 time divorce' so I do now know some of what NOT to do at least. I have recognized the similarities between my 2 exes, that's an eye opener, yikes.
I think I could date right now easily from an emotional standpoint, but I am fine with being solo most of the time too. There are some things I'd like to do that would normally call for a date though. I'm feeling like this should be a dating break out year for me, maybe not an LTR, but some dating 'makeithappening' is overdue. I've not yet had a real date as a senior, but I feel like the rules of the road are mostly the same, maybe a bit slower moving (maybe not?).
I'll be finding out. I started volunteering at the Senior Center on Fridays a few weeks ago (dinning hall) I now have eyes on many potentials and they see me also. It is true that many of them are too old for me, but I only need one.
step #1. Be where they are.

As I've commented once or twice before, I don't really belong here, in the sense of being in the logical target audience. I'll be 70 this year and I've been married for 49 years, so I'm not a consumer of relationship / dating advice. My longsuffering wife will be burying me sometime in the next year or twenty, and my relationship, imperfect though it may be, is rather firmly in place. But I really, really enjoy Anna's videos, and can also recommend her autobiographical "Me: a Rewrite." Anna's winsome personality comes through so clearly in these videos. Hope she keeps making them!

You talk about being an introvert and trying to be an extrovert. I learned many years ago, during psychological testing related to a job, that I am a true introvert. I believe many introverts spend a signiicant portion of the day (if not most of the day) purposly extroverting. As that is and was, I would need to spend a significant amount of time during the off hours in reractory alone or meditative time "recovering". Long ago, I took up fishing because it offered a lot of needed reflective alone time to recharge.

One of the biggest issues in dating today is political and religious beliefs. I'm for one non-religious and fiscally conservative. It's usually a deal breaker if you're not a Christian or on the political spectrum liberal democrat or vise versa, especially during this tumultuous time in America.

  • @audioelitist3677
    @audioelitist3677 3 месяца назад

Yeah, it's an issue, for sure. I got into dating too soon after divorce because I was trying to fill a void in my life. I ended up doing a lot more (emotional) harm to myself and the women I dated, than I did any good. Lessons at the expense of people. I was in reaction mode, having been devastated by what was easily the most difficult part of my life. You really have to deal with the emotional baggage before you ever open up. I'll contend, some people aren't capable of getting past all of the emotional damage. I may very well be such a person. In retrospect, what I did was to try to plug a hole in my life without considering the emotional ramifications it would have on other human beings. If people are being honest with themselves, I think they'll realize this is the norm, instead of being the exception to the rule.
This is good. You're asking people to get good in their own heads, where they're thinking clearly, before they venture off. People can't make good decisions when they're reacting instead of being cool, calm and calculating.

@@YourWingmam As always, the warmth of your words finds rest in my heart. I'm quite aware of things, but after nearly two decades, I'm beginning to accept my fate. While I get lonely at times, there's much in my life I have to be thankful for, and it's given me much time for self reflection and learning. I love to learn things. On top of that, I raised all three of my children solo, and while they're grown, they're still a big part of my life. In the big picture, I'm really a very fortunate man to have so much love in my life, even if without a female companion.
