nice! i was just that way last fall. if you like tight twisty roads you should come ride in Spain! I live near Valencia with loads of fabulous roads nearby. The Pyrenees are also pretty fabulous. Ride safe!

I lived for 18 years in the black forest until I returned to Munich a couple of month ago. The black forest is one of the best bike spots ever, thats for sure and Ive seen a lot thanks to my early birth 😅 Again well done and dooooont speed up in Switzerland. That can ruin your trip completely. I dont over come the idea that you have German roots or so. This is great. I’ve got the 701, my friend and I took a trip through Spain and Portugal from Wales. Looking to plan another trip next year. Are you on a euro5 model? If so how did you find the low rpm riding? There’s a fuel dongle you can buy that really smooths out the bike I’d highly recommend it.
Awesome! Yeah it's the EURO5. I did the trip with it totally stock because I'd literally just bought it, currently swapped out the exhaust + will map soon. It was definitely a bit lean in the low RPM

I wish I could take my bike there, it just seems so difficult and expensive to make it happen. I think I’d have to rent one but that would be kind of weird, hey I’m going to drive the shit out of your bike and drag it across Europe for several thousand KM and probably put a lot of wear and tear on the bike, hope that’s ok! It just kind of ruins it I want to have my bike.
How is touring on the SM? I'm thinking of trading my Ducati Monster in for one. I will tour at most once a year - the rest will just be A roads in the UK and visiting cafe's. Good bike for this?
For once a year not a problem. You can get good luggage for it because all the enduro bike stuff fits too! Seat is rock solid, you’ll definitely want to get that modified or replaced. It kinda sucks for motorways because it’s very vibey, but motorways are boring anyway. Otherwise it’s way better than I thought!

What type of fuel mileage did you get on this trip?
Probably about 120 miles or so to a tank
