    I'm thinking about playing the original game again, it was an alright game, the main character Fang kinda reminds me of Luke from Tales of the Abyss. The gameplay is kinda like Neptunia, but not exactly since there is aerial attacks, skill mastery, and stuff like that. PS3 never crashes FFF, but IDK about switch version, thanks for bringing it up though.

    As someone who just recently got the game, I actually haven’t come across a character I’ve disliked. And I’m on my second play through. Not to say your opinion is objectively wrong, but I don’t think that the character tropes are pushed nearly as hard as you make them out to be. They’re not perfect, but I absolutely adore the interactions between nearly all of the cast and Fang. Specifically Fang and Eryn and I love the Vile God route for reasons that, without spoiling, provide a thoroughly enjoyable contrast and more depth to less prominent characters.
    Overall though, love your review and I’m glad I found your channel! Keep being awesome friend!

      I kinda dislike the fighting style of the game but give me your opinion. Is the story good enough for me to just push through the fighting system. If so i will re download it

    • @slowhite1706
      @slowhite1706 4 года назад +2

      Ayan Reyes this is gonna take a bit but I’ll do me best. As much as I adored the story, I’m not going to say it was the greatest thing ever written. Regardless, the story is fairly unique in execution, if not so much in principal, and the characters are very like-able as I’ve mentioned before. The characters aren’t the most in depth ever created, but the banter between them is very enjoyable and reminds me quite a bit of Konosuba if you’re familiar with that particular anime.
      Due to your own actions, the story can branch into three highly different routes at about the third of the game and has a really unique twist that is exploited a bit more in two of the three routes than the other one. My favorite is the “Goddess route” as it’s dubbed, with the Vile God’s being a close second. The third route’s name itself is a slight spoiler I’ll keep secret, but I didn’t like that one as much from a narrative point of view as much as I did gameplay. But I’m getting off track.
      Overall, I enjoyed the story for its characters and the relations between them and the possibility of romantic endings for certain characters are always a nice touch to the end of the story. The Goddess route is my recommendation to start off with as it develops the main character quite well, but the Vile God is really good for its focus on a deuteragonist of sorts. The main character was a breath of fresh air from the normal “self-insert” style main characters that are so common and his growth was handled fairly well.
      In the end, while it’s not a groundbreaking story it was one I enjoyed throughout all three play-throughs. The sub-stories were a really nice touch to have one-on-one interactions between characters and doubling as the method to unlocking their endings. Providing some insight into how the characters think and why they do what they do. I’m not aware of whether or not it is possible to miss these events, but I would recommend reading them whenever you clear a dungeon, just in case.
      A final piece of advice should you re-download the game though, you can use the dlc equipment to speed through the combat fairly easily if you want to focus on the story.
      Hope this helps you make a decision on whether or not you want to play it again. But I don’t claim to be the most objective person ever so feel free to label this as a fan’s mad ravings, you’re probably not that far off.

      @slowhite1706 4 года назад

      Ayan Reyes I don’t think humanity is fit to know the answer to that question. Hope you like the game though friend, regardless of my crappy opinion!
      Edit: The dub in this game is actually pretty good though, didn’t hate any of the voice actors. Eryn’s laugh seems really fake though.

      @@Chronoflation understandable but you have to understand that the switch is not as powerful as the ps4 and xbox so problems like framerate and such shouldn't be surprising and porting games like fairy fencer will have to be next to be completely playable and of course sacrifices had to be made to even bring games like fairy fencer to the switch and it has a day one patch too to fix the issues from the launch date. all games have flaws and problems so I don't expect much from ports and remakes because it's obvious that it may or may not be as good as the original. Due to Sony's censorship stuff the companies will have to move their games and such to the Nintendo Switch because games that are effected by sony's rule is causing bugs and crashes and it's becoming next to unplayable.

      ChronoFlation dude, the game he just showed us is worst. XC2 has problems on handheld mode because they used tech that’s out of Switch’s league like screen space reflections. This game doesn’t even come close to anything like that and it still runs somewhat poorly. Also it has one of the most meaningful stories I’ve played in a game within recently times with great directing. Your vibe is off man. It’s off kilter.

      @@Dre2000lbs Oh, I'm not saying this game shouldn't be rated lower, I'm just happy to hear he rated Xenoblade 2 appropriately instead of giving it bonus points for "fanservice" and just for being a first party Nintendo game like so many other outlets do

    • @Dre2000lbs
      @Dre2000lbs 5 лет назад +5

      @@Chronoflation Nah, it got rated well because it's a great game with an interesting battle system that actually connects with story concepts and themes very well. It may be one of my favorite games this generation despite a few minor design issues. That games graphics is like a low end ps4 game in terms of rendering tech. I just don't think you have a clue about what you're talking about. If the game isn't your taste that's fine but their are many reasons to treasure that game and no way in hell this game is better XC2 by any somewhat objective category to measure them by. Shame.

    • @Chronoflation
      @Chronoflation 5 лет назад +3

      @@Dre2000lbs I'm not saying this game is better, but Xenoblade 2 is severely flawed on many levels. Maybe for you they only feel like small nitpicks, but clearly for him and certainly for me, they were not. Trying to shame me and Reviews to Go for having different opinions and rating a game down because of said flaws is disgraceful. It's a matter of opinion and you're shaming us just for disagreeing with you. I even said that I don't feel like the score for this game matters. A higher score might not even mean better, it may just mean better for what it is, as in, he may consider this a better budget Vita port than Xenoblade 2 was a good Xenoblade game. In my opinion, Xenoblade 2 isn't half the game the 1 and X are. The technical issues in the game are frustrating, the gatcha grind is a major time waster, being forced to play tiger tiger to upgrade Poppi is totally broken cause you can just farm it early on to max her out immediately, and if you suck at it then Poppi will forever be stuck where she started for you forever, unless you pay for the DLC for the ether crystals, Rex is a terribly handled protagonist who starts the game with more depth than he ends it with, the English voice directing is shit, so sucks for you if you prefer dubs unless you just don't care at all about the voices and emotes of the characters completely not matching (such as Nia swinging her arms in rage as she calmly tells Rex he's being a twat), the fast travel system is the worst one I've possibly ever seen, the tutorial are single view only (so accidentally clicking through one means you can never see it again, even if it's a vital gameplay mechanic as happened with me with the driver combo system), shall I go on?
      The point here isn't for me to rant on and on about Xenoblade 2, but to point out that there are plenty of things that players can take issue with. I binge my RPGs and the frame dips in Xenoblade 2 made me feel literally ill within 2 hours of playing. That made every session already give me a headach, then I had to deal with Rex's bullshit, the game not giving me the option to relearn things I missed or forgot about and, yes, the overdone anime tropes that Review 2 Go called out. It all led to a miserable 90 hour gameplay experience for me. And it really sucks cause X is my GOAT, even with its many flaws. But it had important lore for the entire franchise, so I had to finish it, and I've tried to go back post patch, and it's still making me sick. I've tried to get to enjoy all of the fanservice they added for old fans like Shulk, Fiora, and Elma, but I just can't get the experience because the game itself makes me sick and that ruins all of the good it has going for it, to me. For me, I give it a 5 because for every good thing and improvement, there is a massive flaw or downgrade from the previous entries that just make the game an experience I never want to force myself through again, even if I like what it tried to do. Unfortunately, the tech may be cool, but the game didn't pull it off, for me, and clearly for him
