Oh? Fairy Fancer sequel FINALLY came out? NICE! I'm a big fan of the original game and its remake. I always like the OG Neptunia gameplay and I love its story. I always yearn for a fantasy game with a branching romance plot, so Fairy Fencer is really fit for me. Most of the characters are really nice too. Now the sequel is a tactical RPG game? Interesting... I love Disgaea series and the Hyperdevotion Noire game. So I will definitely love this game too! Sadly... I'm not a console guy, my laptop was broken, and I'm broke right now lol. So no playing this for a while lol. Thanks for the news tho!

Picked up the 1st game off an eShop sale on switch. It might've been $7 or $8 🤔
So was happy to get this game physically from my local record store recently

While waiting for Disgaea 7 and the two Neptunia games coming to Switch I am happy to have this game. Not sure which to start between Fairy Fencer RC and Monster Menu. I have only played about an hour of each but both seem great so far.

On PC, there's a mod that unlocks the framerate and enables custom resolutions.

06:24 No dub. That's such a shame. The dub was the thing I loved the most about the original game. It was a broken mess of glitches but the voice acting was such a treat.

Oh it got a sequel! I've played the first game and it was very fun. And it made me want to play Neptunia games a lot because it was so similar.

I hate how everyone phases out Record of Agarest War. Its honestly better written (even if a bit drier) than Neptunia. Can't say anything for Disgaea though, haven't played it and only saw funny clips of 4.

I ended up playing FFFADF because it was in a Steam bundle sale among several Neptunia games. Neptunia has some fans, so I tried it. The aesthetic's not for me and I dropped it fairly quickly. Years later, I tried FFFADV. I like it. I also like how it has male characters too and isn't girls-only, a shortcut I've seen too often in the anime industry. Only/mostly girls homogenizes characters. I like Fang

I don't really like this kind of gameplay, I played a bit in first X-Com and Noire's Spinoff. I must to control the cursor to then control the character, I don’t really like to do this, so I’m unlikely to touch Disgaea. I think that such gameplay would ideally fit the touch control format like smartphones or a Nintendo Switch.

X-Com has a different approach to movement and combat than those games, but I think I get what you mean.
Usually in games where the turns are based on each unit's individual Speed Stat you get locked to only give commands to the currently active character and the battles tend to ironically be more slow paced as result.
Disgaea and Fire Emblem games have their turns divided between player and enemy, and can control all units in whatever order.
I haven't seen any of those games using the (greatly underused) Switch's touch controls (tho the 2 Fire Emblem titles on the original DS had them, but they're kinda not super well regarded by fans). On PC, Disgaea games tend to feature mouse + keyboard controls, and most of the series has been ported to the platform, exceptions being 3, D2 (Disgaea 2 has been ported, Disgaea D2 is a different game and PS3 exclusive), and the upcoming 7 (until October, then it'll be released on Steam).
There's also the Valkyria Chronicles series, which features free-movement and a lot of environment interactions, the turns are divided between player and enemy like the ones I mentioned above, but you're given command points which you can assign to a number of different actions. Those actions would be stuff like controlling a unit, requesting additional units or retreating them, ordering AoE attacks or buffs, etc. You can even command the same unit until you run out of points, but you get a progressively larger movement penalty each time you do so and you don't restore ammo until the end of your turn, so it's still recommended to use different units instead of yoloing everything solo.
Hopefuly that was informative and I didn't completely missed the mark on what you were saying lmao

    One thing that disappoint me...
(Heavy spoiler alert so i recommended to play the game first!)
The story plot is basically same as Advent dark force. You faced Dorfa which controlled by Bernard who aim to revive Vile God. And Dorfa has four Elites which two of them (Apollonius and Marianna) will join your party later and became playable character. Thou the main villain is actually Al which betray you later, still the fact that how most story part goes like previous game made me couldn't say it's a sequel. It's just just a remake with some additional things.
If they want to make another fairy fencer, it has to be different plot.
Also maybe they didn't release dub version is because the song.
