Aesthetic White is the base color throughout my home. I love the way it looks with various wood tones and especially with green plants.

I stayed at a Vrbo that had aesthetic white. They left a paint bucket in the laundry room and I verified they used aesthetic white. It gives such a calming vibe. To me it is the color of the sand on Florida beaches and is such a stress reliever looking at it

Hi James! I watch and love every video you put out, even though I'm Scandinavian and don't even have access to the paint companies you talk about. Still your videos really help me understand how to analyze and use colors in my home. And usually I can find similar colors to those you present at our main paint companies Jotun or Nordsjö (Akzo Nobel), or maybe at a cheaper house brand somewhere. But I have to eyeball it.. Cause the color coding seems to be completely different.
You see, here the color companies don't present us with the LRV, but they present the color code from the system that they use, NCS being the most common, some cheaper once use RAL and Akzo Nobel uses the really confusing ACC. But at least they provide us with the code. And when you know how to read it, the code makes it so much easier to compare and spot the similarities and differences within the colors from the same system, even if they are from different companies and palettes. I find the NCS especially easy to read and understand. And when I can understand the color by the code, it makes the comparing and combining of colors so much easier too, even when they use different systems.
I have noticed that Sherwin Williams gives out their RGB, but I can't for the life of me understand how to make sense of it. And at Benjamin Moores home page I can find nothing at all. Are paint companies in the state more secretive about their colors? Or is it me that don't spot the systems?
Would you please teach us some about color systems? How to read and understand them, and how to compare colors from different systems to each other? That would be super helpful!
Thanks so much for the great work, paint people!

Hi Annabella, thanks so much for sharing and it's so interesting to learn about different systems! In general, RGB refers to red, blue, green and can help us understand the composition of the color. In terms of why Benjamin Moore doesn't advertise it, I'm not so sure, but you can always google the code. There are also lots of sites that claim to match colors to other brands if you input the RGB. I haven't used this one but they have Jotun listed as one of their brands? But good idea about doing a video just on color codes, I talk about it here and there. Hope this helps!

Watery with Aesthetic White is a surprising combination. I'm surprised to crave that cool/warm combo. After the storm is a beautiful saturated color as well, but I really prefer the Watery/Aesthetic combination. Those glasses look great on you, btw!

Hi James, when I’am looking for an expert I think on you. I am finishing the remodeling of my bath and I need your help. The wall tile has a shade of grayish white with little streaks of taupe (SW 7038) and very light beige. The floor is a tile that looks like wood with shades between Kilim beige (SW 6106) latte (SW 6108) I want to paint the wall with a white tone and I was thinking about aesthetic white but it still seems darker than what I would like. The combination of floor and wall may seem weird but I assure you that it looks good. Please, I need a push to move forward with the project. I’ll be waiting for your response and as always I thank you for sharing your knowledge and valuable advice. Thanks James.🌷

Your videos are like a Bible of color to me. I take a lot of notes! One thing I’d like to see you do more of is to consistently include the LRV for all the colors you talk about. I’ve noticed that sometimes you give the LRV, but most often, you don’t. Keep up the good job!

Hey James! (Your awesome btw) Thanks for your thoughts...helpful color thoughts. What do you know about C2 paints? Can you do a review on C2 White palettes? They seem to have some nice colors and tones. I'd appreciate it! I am sooooo stuck with neutrals and whites. Aestetic White seems like a maybe option. That's the problem, everything is a "yeah maybe" ...I can't move forward with a decision. My walls are full of different paint samplings..

Hey again...sooo I made a decision. I've painted my walls everywhere Oxford White. I like it! White but not too too white. Now I have my base all around shade. I would like to add a pop color on an accent wall. I have a 20 feet ceiling in my entranceway. I would like to do 1 wall. I saw your oxford white vid but wasnt awwwed by those accent colors. They are nice but not for this house. I like Mediterranean or beachy blue/greens...teals or smokey colors. Open airy.. maybe? Dark or medium shades maybe? I dunno...lol.. I mostly have white furniture and dark grey sofas and medium wood floors. Floor to ceiling windows facing SW. Any thoughts on a color Oxford white could lean on? Thanks for all your tips and cheesy jokes and your singing. What we have endure to get advice from ya eh?! Keep it up! I've sent your vids to a friend and she is greeneiged inspired now..hehe

Your videos are so helpful! My windows and doors are all trimmed with Pella Bright White, which seems to read a little yellowish to me? (is this correct in your view?). Seeking a neutral greige wall color - would Aesthetic White work? Or is there an alternate tone you would recommend? Thanks so much!

Here is my challenge. I am using modern gray LRV 62 (I like that it leans taupe) in the living room (west facing) but I need a lighter color for my den (east facing) . I am looking at aesthetic white but curious is there anything that is between these two LRV 73 I can use instead. I may even try lighting up modern gray for the den...Just curious if anyone has suggestions

Not a white question here, but have you ever “broken down” Unusual Gray? You have so many videos on grays, and I can’t watch them all. By the way, I suggest your viewers might appreciate an index allowing them to search your videos for specific colors they are interested in. I would actually watch more, rather than fewer, videos if you provided such an an index. Counter-intuitive maybe, but I have to choose how best to use my time and watching tons of videos hoping you’ll get to colors I’m interested in is not a good use of my time. We’re all overloaded these days with information to wade through. I do enjoy your videos!
