While the 1960s and 70s changed the world a bit, I would say for a "cultural and social revolution like the world has never seen" you have to go back into the early-mid 19th century. These days we are so used to ideas like personal freedom, democracy and personal opportunity that we forget how fukken *new* those ideas are. Even in the west, you do not have to go that many generations back to find pretty much all societies built around god-appointed-kings, strict class systems, slavery and war. No rights, no freedom of religion, if your father was a farmer, you were a farmer.
Many countries went from *that* to pretty much a modern society in a decade or two. How's that for a cultural and social revolution :O

Music can really shape us early on, and unfortunately our friends and early influencers push us away from experiencing other genres...often throwing stereotypes on them to get us to hate or dislike it just "because". Truth is, it's art for a reason...from Hip Hop, Rap, Country, Metal, Hard Rock to Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass and Gospel, it all shapes us...we should always be open to listen to something someone suggests, if for no other reason than to find what moved them to share it.

I have a feeling that Pantera was indulging in their AC/DC influences with 'Walk' ... simple riff, simple beat, all attitude 😈 (Late) guitarist Dimebag Darrell was a force of nature on stage & in the studio - it was tragic losing him in 2004 to a deranged fan. His brother Vinnie Paul was Pantera's drummer, and he passed away recently in 2018 from a heart problem... the brothers were laid to rest next to each other... For the ones that don't know the song Walk is about when Pantera came back home after the huge Cowboy's from Hell tour.
Phil, and Darrell and the others where hearing that there friends where taking behind there backs saying they thought there shit did not stink and done let success get to there heads.
But to there faces it was like they still acted like friends.
He's saying it in the lyrics, your friends tell me everything you say.
    Give me some respect
    Or Walk !
Still my favorite song and video by them.
I saw them twice in Arlington Texas, before Phil joined the band and boy where they bad, cheesy commerical music, but Darrell's guitar playing was fantastic, my friend who went to school with them got a advance copy of Cowboy from Hell.
And I could not believe it was the same band,

It's never too late to be a Rocker (or appreciate all music genres, e.g. Country, Opera/Operetta, Classical, Big Band, Blues, etc), and by what you said towards the end of the video, it seems as if you're a natural Rocker at heart already, Dawg.

It does my heart so much to see people today who have never experienced Pantera get to know them! At 50 now I still am into these guys in spite of being a mostly country and contemporary Christian fan now. I play this for my kids sometimes too! Love your reactions!

If you take this advice (you should!), I cannot stress this enough, do not do the official video. Find an audio only version that’s longer. The official video skips the whole intro.

You were head banging because we all have a little primal in us, and metal pulls that primal part of ourselves to the surface. It's easy to lose yourself in a metal concert, to just go all out .

This used to be a favorite of the ECW fans...more so the Kilgore version...but Walk crushes in concert... Saw Pantera Bread twice and both shows were amazing. The first when I was in HS...broke my ribs in the pit...the 2nd one a decade or so later...only bruised my ribs....I had to just Walk on Home BOY!
