Yes it was.. And we met them a few times. My roommate and I used to live in Irving and the boys would show up and bowl at the alley right across the street from us all the time. We saw them there 3 times. They all signed my buddies pack of Marlboros lol. They all lived in the area. I found out later that one of their first investments was to buy 50% ownership of that bowling alley. They also owned a strip club up the road. I'm not a strip club kind of guy.. but I swear that place was always packed whenever we drove by.. cars down the block. They must have made millions just off owning that club lol

@@joshythehand2960 Yea I wish I got to meet them. Wasn't so lucky at that concert. I've got to meet a lot of bands though bc my freinds mom worked for a company that did concession for a lot of concerts in the Cincinnati area. I've got to meet Metallica, Misfits (With Michael Graves), Linkin Park, Mudvayne, Deftones and many others.

@@drewcliff82 that's AWESOME. This was basically right when you left Dallas and entered Irving.. the first exit. And there's a huge complex there.. a hundred restaurants, a thrill type park, bowling alley.. like a massive mall. We lived across the street in these neat apts. It was cool because all this stuff was right across the street from us. As young guys we loved it.. as an older guy I wouldn't stand living in a place that congested now lolol. But I guess Dime and Vinny were locals.. their family home was somewhere right in that area. so they were spotted bowling, at the store, eating ect.. all the time.

Metallica? Great music but other than the special shows they're all basically the same. LITTLE BACKGROUND: This song is from the album "Vulgar Display Of Power", the band's 6th album, and their 3rd with singer Phil Anselmo. The previous album, "Cowboys From Hell", was the one that broke them into big-time stardom.
While they were on tour supporting "Cowboys", a bunch of people in their home town decided that the band would go out and get all famous and return home with inflated egos and prima donna "I'm too famous to talk to you now" attitudes. But that didn't happen, they were the same guys that they were when they left, and they didn't get why all of a sudden they were catching all this attitude from people that had been their friends. "Walk" is the response to that.

Yeah... guitarist Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott, and his brother, and the drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott are legends. Pantera is a rabbit hole on its own. To truly understand Pantera you have to watch the VH1 Behind The Music on them. The full video is here on YT. You should do a react video to it. Be warned... Its a tear-jerker. You'll understand why Pantera is still something of a touchy subject. BUT... you'll wear a Pantera shirt with pride afterwards. RIP DIME & VINNIE

Afterwards all the bad stuff is gone.
No fake, no posers or actors to be seen back then.

Its a day of drinking, smoking, games and music. and tickets are usually like 60 per person for general admission. Cali has to have something like that somewhere. If you want a show on top of music. You have to see slipknot (Metal rap is what they are kinda described as but not really. They have no limits) . their shows/crowd interaction/show production is next level. IM a music lover. all genres. But i levitate to to RnB / slow jams more often then anything else.

In terms of metal from this era - Pantera got to be so massive in the 90s - which in hindsite is fuckin crazy. Cause Metallica definitely brought Metal to the mainstream but they did it by changing their sound to be more commercially viable.
But Pantera dropped a few albums in the 90s that made their way to the top 10 despite being heavy as fuck. And not compromising their sound at all.
Like “Vulgar display of power” was a massive success. And was super heavy.
But if you listen to “Far Beyond Driven” just the first song. And realize that album went number 1 In the 90s. It really puts in perspective just how big they got with such aggressive music.

Stage diving, crowd surfing, and moshing is the craziest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. It’s hard for girls to do though because you have guys that will take advantage of the situation and grope girls while they are doing it. I’ve been in mosh pits where they’ve started a fire right in the middle of the crowd. The security at least in my experience with concerts like this take care of the bands safety and not the crowds.

I thought they were kicked of the tour they were on, because of Phil Anselmo and some dumb shit he has said.

Have to tell ya with the Crowd Surfing, as a female the "crowd" will grope every nook and cranny. A sister crowd surfed at a White Zombie show stayed up for almost half a song, and said she felt completely violated. Said she got "fingered" like ten times. She went to the bathroom and had hand prints, bruising, and scratches all up her inner thighs, breast, and buttock. Some of that would happen just by the nature of the act of Crowd Surfing sure, but it was extreme. I loved to mosh so not many crowd surf over a "pit". Have seen Pantera 5 times, one of my Top 5 All time fav bands. If you wanna go a little deeper into the Pantera rabbit hole "Cowboys From Hell" is a BANGER, or if you want to hear the lead singers (Phil) range check-out "Cemetery Gates". My Fav is "Five Minutes Alone", followed by "I'm Broken". R.I.P. Dime and Vinney, you are SO missed!

I've been flattened 2 times in a mosh pit, there is kindness in a pit. I never spent more than a couple/few seconds on the floor before I got a hand up. Metal might sound evil, it isn't.
