Space, the final frontier…yeah, I loved Star Trek the old series on TV. One of my staples when I got home from school. Mars Early in the life of the solar system, Mars appears to have had Earth-like conditions. Planetary researchers have been targeting Mars to gain insight into how our own planet developed. This episode looks at the work of the probes orbiting Mars and the rovers exploring its surface. Saturn The ringed planet is of immense interest to researchers who believe that Saturn’s ring system will share similarities with the protoplanetary disc from which the solar system evolved. This episode reveals the work done by the Cassini probe that spent more than 13 years examining the Saturnian system. The core of Mars has hardened and is unable to maintain a magnetic shield to protect the planet from the solar wind . Nothing can be done to make Mars habitation possible . However , exploring Mars can answer a limited amount of information about its history .
I am compelled to express my love of this program. As a boy I dreamed of space as a teen I imagined different worlds and entities as an older man I fell in love with our potential this presentation is what I wanted to see as a ten year old. This as close as I will ever be to "space" and I am grateful for this wonderful program. If I could pick a "space" hero It would be Lous wo
I've been fascinated about space & planets since I was 8 years old reading a book my teacher was teaching us in school. I can't wait for a day to come when humans live on mars. Its just amazing the discovery they make & the obstacles they face on how to tackle it all.
As a 63 year old, I'm just so amazed how far we've really come and how quickly technology moves. I remember the first space launch(a bit) and the moon landing( a lot). Thanks for these as that way younger people will know the history.
I'm the same age Janet, I'm jealous of what changes my grandson and his children will see, but content that I can say I saw the moon landing and the mad space race of the late 60s early 70s
Dave and Janet, I, too, am in the club. I was born in August 1958, the summer NASA was created. The first Voyager was launched on my 19th birthday. :Like you two, I watched every minute of moon walks, and I sited the Skylab in orbit with binoculars. I know what you mean, Dave1234aust, about wishing I could experience all the accomplishments upcoming generations will witness. But I take comfort in realizing what I've be able to see. It's been phenomenal! My grandparents, born in 1896 and '97, watched the Apollo 11 moon walks with us. And to think they recalled the Wright Brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk!
Yes!!! Another video up! I freakin love this channel . I always look forward to seeing a new video weekly .. my favorite type on this channel are the "worlds dangerous roads".
Whenever I think of the Cassini probe valiantly struggling to keep transmitting, as it blasts through Saturn's atmosphere at unimaginable speeds, I get a few tears in my eyes. These little probes and rovers carry our human curiosity and sense of wonder out into the solar system to places we can't go ourselves.
Thanks for this doco. I had no idea that Cassini was active for so long, nor understood why they “killed” her off. Now I do. Such an amazing and successful space program. I hope we get to revisit these moons again sometime in my lifetime

Watching this amazing documentary is like living a dream, for some reason u feel yourself involved on all this science,so happy to understand little bit more about the space from u guys. wonderful job.
Every time I go outside whenever it's night time I always look up at the stars with a child like wonder just thinking about everything that's out there in the universe. It's truly mind boggling
It's awesome to see these missions going off as perfectly, (according to predicted plans,) as they had. It must be a pretty cathartic experience, in that room at JPL, after years of designing and engineering a mission and then months of travel time and the obligatory 15 minute communication delay between the Earth and Mars, to find out whether everything went okay or not. 👍 In truth, whatever they were seeing at Mission Control, had actually already happened out there on the Martian surface so, it's also gotta be a pretty helpless feeling as well lol all at the same time. What a cool job that would be. (Stay in school, kids lol you definitely don't want to get stuck doing something you hate for a living. That's for sure!) ✌
Isn't it wild, to think that everything humans have made, including the devices we're watching this on, came from the earth? Also, everytime we send things into space that don't return, that's resources being extended that we can never replenish.
Great video, my only criticism was not knowing whether I was supposed to be looking at real images or computer generated ones.

In other words, perfect circles, Hexagons and other supposedly non naturally occuring shapes in fact do occur in nature all the time.Nice, exactly as I always thought
Just seeing rocks, dust and natural objects on an alien planet surface is always chilling. Just imagining standing there thinking: "I am not on Earth anymore". It really wasn't long ago idiots thought water could only be on Earth, like our planet among near infinite planets is the only one that has the right conditions for life.
wow, didn't know how long and important was Cassini mission. it's such a shame that there is currently no mission for Saturn. We should be monitoring every planet continuously. Here on Earth, Are we out of fuel or something?
A Scientist who has studied the subject deeper has come out saying he is sure Mars was populated by human - type beings in this distant past . That the reason it is now barren is because there was a nuclear or similar attack that desomated it and probably From outside the planet
As much as it may be disappointing that the Mars Rover got stuck in sand and power panel blocked by dust, these obstacles can be overcome with future designs. Bigger wheels with better suspension, steering and wheel and tyre design, plus dust blowers or cleaners.
Minutes 15:47, so the solar panels was covered in dust 🤔 and after few days magically the solar panels was so good clean, with not even , one hint of dust hummm 🤔🤔🤔 man the wind its terrific 😀 to clean, woooaaa,, hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I BE BELIEVE IN YOU NASSA 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍!!!!
Where has the Mars’ water gone? Evaporated to space or soaked by the underground? As far as I know, rockets don‘t „fly“ to other planets but just float thrustless. Or is that a wrong assumption? Is the gravitational force by other planets too large, to calculate a free floating path? I could understand, you have to get actively around some large planets as Saturn or Jupiter, but you also use Jupiter as a large slingshot to accelerate spacecrafts massively.

Thank you!
Too much CGI and annoying shots (e.g. 35:02) of multi culti diversity inclusive NASA "engineers".

@Nathan Lopez I don't know what you're going on about. The hell does COVID-19 have to do with anything? Besides, the probe was destroyed back in 2017.
I am a fan of your work and it keep inspiring me about getting knowledge 👍

From1:20, who wrote this music? Anyone know?
Wow, this is very wonderful
Human brain don't have the capacity to imagine even half of our solar system. We are too small in this universe.
Gotta give credit to that camera man who took the video of rovers and its counterparts
He must of had one hell of a good spacesuit to get the footage of Cassini while in orbit around Saturn also
Did I see a jar of olives in the control room? Yes?? I went back and looked again ... Time stamp 21:12 !!!

Only if you didn't bother to look.
Same as crude oil, not made from fossils.

Hey free documentary please make videos about dumpster diving.
Air bags and parachutes.
Such a good idea, especially for precious cargo or passenger pods.
Where has the Mars’ water gone? Evaporated to space or soaked by the underground? As far as I know, rockets don‘t „fly“ to other planets but just float thrustless. Or is that a wrong assumption? I could understand, you have to get actively around some large planets as Saturn or Jupiter, but you also use Jupiter as a large slingshot to accelerate spacecrafts massively.
Do the machines com back or they continue to make updated ones n jus send em?
Moral Lesson: Attach a lifting mechanism and a wiper to the rovers.
How do we KNOW that life outside our earth and in space somewhere NEEDS liquid water to thrive tho..❔
🤔
Like really..?
How do you source these documentary films? Stolen?!🤔 I see them all over RUclips.
Most pilfer their content.. I haven't had a chance to watch this one.. still at work.
I'm wondering at my almost middle age, If I were astronomer, I would spent my whole life through fantasy.
They need to think of including air compressors that can be used to blow dust off the solar panels.
With all that technology, they could find a way to clean up the dust on panels whenever it mounted
😂😂😂
