I know I'm about 2 years late but your Evanescence reaction videos are some of my favorite things! Its so cool seeing people hear their music for the first time and it makes me remember how I felt listening to them for the first time. They are my absolute favorite band and I have been a fan for about 10 years! Your channel is my favorite music reaction channel, you go in depth and really appreciate the music :)
She does that dude. She sings it acoustic and it has a whole new feel and imagery. Ed Sheeran does that too.she legit makes me cry every single time she does more stripped down
Yay! Another Evanescence reaction. I've missed you, hope you're doing well. This is a song that I tend to skip on the album, but the acoustic version is absolutely perfect. It fits the lyrics better and you can feel the emotion on Amy's voice. Another good example of that is Lost In Paradise vs. the acoustic version done for The Session. Though it may not be as pitch perfect like this one, it is beautiful and powerful. Thanks again for these!

She used to give a more band related interpretation. She later spoke about it being the end of her grieving process after her relationship breakup with Seether lead singer. This song is like a reflection of finding your true north and batting’s again after being lost. And her chasing that while “closing the last open door” so that her ghosts don’t catch up to her and she continues to heal and live life for what means the most to her. I love the reference to her dreams and how they guide her sacredly in life. Strong lyrics! Also, yes back up guitar at this time wrote the guitar parts not Terry so that’s why it sounds different, good ear. He was later fired from band though. Love your reactions so much! You have to see them live!

Amy Lee and her band could teach a master class in reimagining songs, few bands can run a great song thru a different filter and end up with an equally good or better version

They dont Play this song since 2018 live . Also right now they Promote more they newest Songs. They Rearly Perform today the open door Songs wich is sad. The only Song they Performed in my concert was caling when ur sober and lose Control.

After this i never heared much of an open door song at those concert i Was . They change their Set list sometimes in different countries . For example 2022 November they didnt few Songs wich they sang in 2023 February in the same Tour. The Oper door and their 3 Album are my Favorit.

I think the musical term you were looking for "kinda like scales" is Arpeggios, or the verb Arpeggiating :) Both versions of this song are good, but I much prefer the acoustic version of this song.. it becomes so much more impactful when it's all deconstructed like this. The guitars in the original make it sound kinda angry, where the acoustic version sounds more painful and full of longing. Amy is such an amazing bridge writer.. Second only to Tori Amos for me, but just about every EV song has an amazing bridge, and this song is no exception! ;) I hope you get to see them live.. This tour will be my 15th show! lol
