This was such an interesting video! I’m Japanese, and we do something very similar with rice. We put steamed mochi rice into a big wooden mortar called “Ūsu” and pound it with a long wooden mallet called “Kiné” to make mochi, very similarly to how you pound yam. The hand movement to sprinkle water into the mortar is the same, and the resulting white food is also similar! It’s amazing how we’re so far away but still developed such similar method to create our favorite foods that bring comfort! The pounded yam looks very hearty and good. I’d love to try it one day.
Wow! Sis you remember me of this pounded yam. This is how we do it back there. This is what we call real pounded yam👌 thanks for sharing I really enjoyed watching.

The pounded yam was ok but there is illustration as when is ready to add water, how to turn the pounded yam easily. This video is for viewers that have know how to pound before. From: Sylas
The first thing that caught my eyes is the freshness and fullness of the yam you used. Can I take one slice already, there’s a sauce I want to have it with😂 See as the thing dey bounce 👌 where is my onugbu soup eeh?
