    I made it last night, I used cornstarch and gf flour to thicken. It came out great!! I tried pounding it into a ball lol but that didn't work but still tastes great! Also, I had to add water to the potatoes they were so thick my little food processor stopped processing. Love this thank you! 💝

    My son wanted to try fufu. Remembered my friends using potato flakes, but I had fresh potatoes to use up. Your video was wonderful to watch. I made your version and it didn't let us down. Not a potato bit left! We had ours with a peanut chicken stew and a peanut vegetable stew. Will try out other fufu via your instructional video. Bless you 🤗

    I’m African American and I absolutely love Nigerian food, especially Fufu! I always order extra! As you may know, casasava, yuca, and plantain isn’t a staple in American diets but I always have potatoes. This is a great way to use up potatoes to go bad. Thanks for much! Can’t wait to make this!

    Been searching for forever on how to make this with potatoes. My dad needed extra help when it was coming to the end of his life and we had a few nurses who would stay up thru the night to take care of my dad. I was a night owl and would stay up and keep the coffee pot filled/hot for the nurse. I got to talking to one gentleman and he got really excited when i was asking about his background. He whipped out his lunch his wife made him after about 15 minutes of talking and asked if he could eat his lunch and i said for sure. He looked at me with the biggest eyes and said "would you like to try?" and i said yes if it was ok and he got even more excited and set it all up. it was this and his wife made a thicker soup to dip it into. I freaking loved it and told him to give his wife a big ol hug for me because it was so yummy. We only had 2 more nights together and i've never seen him again, i hope he and his wife are living well ❤
    edit: forgot to add, his wife gave me my own the next day 🥰🥰🥰

After eating real fufu (made of fresh yam) in Benin about 20 years ago, I could not find out how to get this real fufu consistency. It is just not the same as just mashed yam. Now I understand how. Thank you for this video! Does yam contain enough starch on it's own?

    • @AmazinKitchen
      @AmazinKitchen  2 месяца назад +1

      I am happy to know you are excited about trying the recipe. Boil the potatoes until soft. I can't give a specific time because it depends on the quantity and type op potatoes. You can't go wrong here. Just boil them until they are very soft. Yes, I am cooking it on medium heat the whole time. Again, how long it will take depends on the quantity. But the stirring and turning may take about 15 minutes for the amount I made. I hope this helps. 🤗

      I don't recommend corn starch because the texture will not be the same as mine even though it will thicken the potato. Personally, I haven't tried sweet potatoes before, but I don't see why it won't work.

    I was wondering if potatoes could be used for fufu as they are starchy.

    I want to come out of my box,. Do I have to make it with soup? Or can I dip it in something with spicy meat sauce? I'm excited to try it! Also is it good for the body? Thank you for sharing! Jules

      It's a West African dish that is meant to be eaten with soup. You can find a couple of them on my channel. I haven't tried it with any other sauce before. I am not a nutritionist, but as you can see, it is just potato with a little bit of starch. So without the soup, it just carbs.🤗

      Yes, you can, but I don't recommend it. The texture will not be the same as with the potato starch.
